Review: On 12/24/15 @ 9:10 am Agent [redacted] contacted me via phone to offer a settlement, though he said he could not give me an exact number, he said it would be a little over $75K. The agent said he would send a portion of the settlement money to me, along with the paperwork for me to sign & other detail instructions regarding my truck that was totaled by his client. He said I only had three days to use the rental car that I was using to drive to and from work. He said he would start the three day clock, not counting the holiday & weekend, giving me a deadline to return to rental on Wednesday, 12/30/15. He further said he would send out the paperwork with the check that day via [redacted] & I would receive it on Monday 12/28/15. However, When I called [redacted] on 12/28/15 @ 9 am, I found out that [redacted] never sent the check that I was owed for my truck, as he promised. He said,"It was Christmas Eve, you know how it is. I will send it today and you will get it on 12/30/15." I told [redacted] that I had already lined up a car to buy with the money, but [redacted] said there was nothing he could do about it. I called [redacted] after my call with [redacted], and I was told by [redacted] had access to [redacted] on Christmas Eve until 5:15 pm There was no reason for him not to send the money. I lost the car to another buyer who had their money ready. It put me in an impossible situation, because I still had to find a vehicle to replaced my truck that was paid for and dependable, within the 3 day time limit the company placed on me. Yet, they broke their promise to send me the money. Moreover, [redacted] did not send me the itemized list on how they came up with the value my truck til 1/8/16 tho dated 12/24/15, they did not put it with paperwork sent on 12/30/15. I see they undervalued my truck! Allstate left me in limbo for 2 weeks, claiming they had not talked to their client each time I called. I had to pay for rental myself & then they gave me a 3 day limit.Desired Settlement: Allstate undervalued my truck by $3K. They gave me the run around for 2 weeks claiming they had to talk to their client first (two weeks?) My time, my inconvenience & most importantly, added hardship when failed to send $ as promised. Lost a good used car that was affordable. Had to finance with no money down that they failed to send. Higher interest, higher insurance, higher DMV. Deceitful by not sending full report on my truck. I did not cashed 2nd check waiting to settle.

Review: In response to money issues, I contacted Allstate ahead of my regular billing date that I would be paying my amount from another bank account and not to charge the account frok which they recieved an automatic payment every month. I did this specifically to avoid any charges to be made on my bank account and to avoid any and all outstanding balances that my credit union would pay as a courtesy and leave my account at a negative balance. I was told by the customer service representative that this was perfectly fine and that all I needed to do was call with the new card information when it was due. However when I did so a week later, I was told that the payment had already been made earlier that morning and was warned that I would be making a double payment for the month of july. Knowing I literally had $0.00 in my bank account they had on file for my policy, I paid so anyways to make sure I was not late on my payment and there were no gaps in my coverage. Later that week I come to find I was indeed charged on both accounts and paid double for the month of July. No big deal, I would just request a refund and pay the money back into my now negative bank account and extra to cover fees charged by my bank. No such luck. I was supposedly refunded the amount that day on the 1st of July to the card I haf called in and paid on, according to a gentleman named [redacted]. After about 15 minutes of insisting to him I did not recieve any such payment and have checked every bank account I have known to man kind, I was told to hold and I would be transferred to an agent...one that was 9 hours away in Oceanside! I was told to visit this agent and her office to fax a statement of the card from which was supposedly refunded to. After both me and the agent convinced Mr. [redacted] that I was indeed not going to drive from Northern Sacramento to Oceanside to try and fix a mistake that I had not made and had taken precautionary measures to avoid, Mr. [redacted] then decided to search for agents near my zip code.Desired Settlement: I am very disappointed in Allstate and have been with them for over a year and have had no problems yet. I am seriously considering changing insurance companies to avoid any other frustration.
