I switched from my previous provider because I was looking for better assistance and a lower rate. Although I wasn't able to get a lower rate I made the switch to see what others had to offer, since then it has been a nightmare working with my sale agent. She is unresponsive and did a poor job reviewing my policy with me. Because of this, my policy is missing rental coverage and when I try and reach my sales rep to see why this was not added, she ignores my calls and does not return my emails. After this claim is done, I will cancel my policy and go back to my previous provider.

I Jason A. *** do file this Complaint against Allstate INSURANCE 5616 Redan Rd. Suit G. Stone Mountain, Ga. phone:fax: for the following reasons: FRAUD, SLANDER, CANCELING POLICY UNDER FALSE PRETENCES, NEGLECTING to INFORM CLIENT OF CANCELED POLICY, EXPOSING CLIENT TO POSSIBLE INJURY and DAMAGE to PROPERTY, NEGLECTING TO GIVE CLIENT TIME to FIND ANOTHER INSURANCE AGENCY to AVOID LAPSE IN HOME INSURANCE.

EXPLANATION OF CLAIM

On Oct. 2, 2017, I received a letter from my mortgage company *** stating that it has been brought to their attention that my home insurance policy had been canceled do the property being vacant. My property has never been vacant since it was purchased on Sept. 21, 2009. I immediately contacted the mortgage company regarding this issue and was informed that they had received notice from Allstate Home Insurance that my home was vacant.
On this same date, I contacted Allstate Home Insurance. I spoke to a Henry ***. I told him that I have received a letter from *** stating that my homeowner's insurance was canceled do the property being vacant. He told me that on July 29, 2017, he sent a letter to *** stating that due to the property being vacant policy would be canceled on September 21, 2017.
I asked Mr. why would he do such a thing, because my property has not nor has it ever been vacant and that it is my primary residence. A letter was sent to *** in July of 2017 but I was not notified about this false claim. Furthermore, after reviewing my policy, Allstate has been charging me for a 1,925 sqft home. My home is only 1,880 sqft. Therefore, it is my belief that Allstate Home Insurance has been deliberately charging me for a larger square footage then what I actually have.

I am rejecting this response because:

I can not in good faith accept this response due to the fact that after measuring the square footage of the property in question, it further supports my claim that All State Casualty Insurance has been charging me for more of a square footage then I actually have. After searching around for other insurance quotes once my insurance policy was canceled by All State, every company have quoted the property at 1,880 square feet. Therefore, All State must have known this as well but proceeded this unlawful act.

BEWARE OF ALLSTATE !!
THEY HAVE NO ETHICS OR MORALS FOR CONSUMERS AND BORDERLINE ON EXTORTION.
I had Allstate as my home and auto insurance carrier for several years and ALWAYS paid my bills on time. When I received their new premium in April of ***, after leasing two new cars, it was extremely high. First, I called them to question the premium and asked them to review it since they held all my policies and I was a good customer and wanted to give them the opportunity to keep my business. They stated that they could only offer me 10% off my policy if I installed an auto driving monitoring system. I found another reputable insurance company that was $200 a MONTH cheaper, so I switched. When "Geico" wrote up my new policy, they sent proof of insurance to the corporate office of Allstate, letting them know that I had a new home and auto insurance policy with them "Geico", effective May 17th, ***.
I had also faxed over the Request of Cancellation to Allstate in May, which Allstate is stating they never received. I also faxed them over the Auto Declaration page which confirms my insurance was effective May 17th, ***. Allstate proceeded to report me to a collection agency for non-payment. I called and tried to reason with them and resent my documents so that they could backdate and correct their records. They refused and want me to pay for the month of May for $595, even though I hold auto insurance with another carrier during that time. I filed a compliant with their escalation team who want me to prove that I faxed my request of cancellation since I did it from home. It comes down to my word against theirs. Maybe I could have called to confirm they received my cancellation after I faxed it but I was caring for my father in-law on Home-Hospice. I have lost my father in-law to cancer, and now I have to deal with this.
Allstate is all about the almighty dollar, even if you try to do everything right; they try to squeeze some more money out of you.

Regardless of the outcome from the NYS Commissioner of Finance, I do want other consumers to be made of aware of Allstate's unprofessional methods of practice . I hope that I can prevent this happening to someone else. Allstate knows all well and good that I was carrying coverage from another company during the time they are trying to bill me for. I have given proof with my Declaration page. What they try to do to a consumer is shameless and very unprofessional.

I was involved in an accident on 10/5/17 with a driver insured by Allstate. The other driver was at fault for the accident, therefore I relied on their insurance for the claim. I had to engage the Allstate representative in all instances of my claims process. This shows poor customer service and accountability. I first engaged Allstate on 10/9/17, which was 4 days after my accident. My own insurance helped get things going.
Total loss was not initially discussed until 10/17/17, whereupon a compensation amount was verbally provided. I was supposed to receive the valuation via email, yet it was not sent. I continued to call to get a status and the response was that the total loss department was busy and behind schedule. I would have expected a courtesy phone call to provide a status update. That did not occur.
Finally on 10/31 I was able to talk with the Total Loss Manager. It was explained to me that I should have received the compensation amount on 10/17 via email for me to review after declining the valuation given over the phone. I would expect no one to agree to some monetary figure without researching the assessment and comparables. Once I reviewed the report, I discovered that it omitted several features on my car that would have increased the value. I subsequently brought this up with the Total Loss Department. They apologized, and then told me my rental would need to be returned on 11/2. Mind you, 1) the valuation was wrong, 2) was not provided for my review until 10/31, and 3) I was not at fault and was still waiting for payment. A company who erred should take accountability for their ineptitude. Rather, with no revised figure, I was inconvenienced for their lack of professionalism and understanding.
I am still awaiting them for resolution on my compensation amount. Terrible business ethics and class. In the future, if I have to deal with Allstate, I’ll file a claim through my insurance and let them sort out their issues without affecting me.

Company has poor billing practices, cancelled policy and still owed money, because they claim I paid for insurance on the 2nd of each month to cover from the 12th of the month before to the 12th of the month I paid. They are not clear in their practice of billing, therefore, suck paying pretty much double for one month, with new insurance and paying for the old policy. Obviously I got penalized for cancelling policy. Regret ever having Allstate as a insurance carrier for the past 6 years.

A lady who was insured under Allstate had wrecked into my brand new car before I even had the chance to put on my license plates. Allstate was so delayed, that I had to go through my insurance for a rental car. When Allstate finally decided to begin covering for my rental car, the employees had horrible communication skills and horrible customer service skills. They would hang up on me, rarely answer my calls, and just gave me a horrible experience overall. Not only that, but they initially said my car was repairable (when I could have told you it was not), then they changed their mind saying it was a total loss. Then they switched it again and said that it was repairable, until they finally agreed that it was totaled. During them going back and forth, I had the rental car this whole time. So once they FINALLY returned my money to UFCU (which was $3000 less than what I had purchased it for. They were very dramatic, stating that the seats were very stained, reminding you that this car was so new that I did not even have the license plates on), & I was able to purchase another car. I went to return my rental car. I had not heard from Alllstate in about a week, even though they said they were going to return my call. *** claimed that Allstate had not been covering the past 2 weeks that I had rented the car.... So I ended up having to pay almost $300 for the rental car out of my pocket, even though their client is the one who caused the collision & they lacked expertise on deciding whether or not my car was totaled, and their employees would hang up on me, not return my phone calls, & as I mentioned, HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE. YOU ARE NOT IN GOOD HANDS WITH ALLSTATE!!!!

How Allstate settles claims through their photo app process could possibly be criminal. I am a estimator and customer service rep for a independent body shop. The estimates that I have seen come from Allstate have consistently been half of what I have written. They cut and send a check to the insureds asap, and I honestly believe the intent is to low ball the payment in hope that they don't get the vehicle repaired. With what I have seen, Allstate will save millions of dollars. That's not the only issue. It can be days before they respond to the supplement that is sent in, and in the mean time the shop is paying for a loaner car. It is also common practice for Allstate to ok the supplement and then short you $80-$100 for things they say they don't pay for, weeks after the vehicle has been delivered. Please, someone with the means and authority, investigate their business practice. I feel sorry for Allstate's poor customers.

I was recently rear ended by an all state customer, all state has given me the worst experience ever in trying to just simply have my car repaired. The insurance adjuster that did the original estimate said that since my car was almost at 50,000 miles that the parts they are going to use is parts from a vehicle sitting in a junk yard. It took them 2 week's for them to call back the body shop to accept a supplement, and when I tried getting information from the person that did the estimate he told me that it wasn't his problem and there was nothing he could do and then hung up the phone. It's going 3 weeks that my cars been in the repair shop and all state isn't returning my calls, or the body shops calls. From my experience I was and am still not in good hands with all state.

Allstate did not respond to my repeated phone calls following Hurricane Irma. When I finally got a representative they stated they would not help me because I had not purchased an insurance rider necessary for my claim. I insisted on filing a claim because I was never offered or waived the additional rider the representative mentioned. It was not offered and is not listed on my policy as being offered/denied as is other coverage. Following the catastrophic damage of Hurricane Irma, a sewage line cracked forcing raw sewage up into my apartment. It covered all the floors 6" deep and was being wicked up into furniture, bedding, clothing, and walls within an hour. Due to the health risks, and there was no power or water to the apartment to begin any cleanup, the Apartment management insisted we leave the property and not return. Representatives from *** and *** stated that it was an IRRC Category 3 toxic site and everything was contaminated and would be discarded. Demolition began 12 days later. The apartment has been gutted, all contents were discarded. Allstate never sent an inspector or adjuster to the site. They have passed my claim through several adjusters, who promise action, give conflicting information then pass me on to someone else. Their names are Eva ***, Ciera ***, Crystal ***, *** III. I have content coverage to $65,000 and Additional Emergency Living Expense of $6,500. My children and I lost everything. We have not received any assistance in settling our claim. Lee *** the contents adjuster told me by phone and email on October 23 that he would have the settlement today October 25, then told me at 5 PM today that his manager denied it at the last minute. When I asked him about the Living Expense Rider, he politely stated that it was out of his area and I would have to follow up with someone else. This is a catastrophic claim due to Hurricane Irma, and should be settled quickly.

My wife was hit in a very minor accident by someone who has Allstate Insurance. When the Allstate Insurance person called my wife to hear what happened, she was straight up rude to my wife. She was aggressive and just trying to get my wife to say anything that she could use to get out of paying the claim. My wife was shaking after the call because the Allstate person on the phone was so rude and aggressive towards her. Just a nasty, vile company to work with, really just unacceptable the way they talk to people. And this was for a claim that was around $1,000. I can't imagine how they must talk to people on a large claim. Disgusting, Allstate ought to be ashamed of themselves the way they talked to my wife who was the VICTIM in this situation.

Storm winds broke off some shingles from our roof and rain came through and two floors received water damage of which Insurance said they would pay for repairs for inside but not for the roof damage, after some debate the finally agreed to patch the spot. I feel the whole area on west side of house needs replacing or the 50 year shingle won’t make ch, this is a 2 mil Home and apparently they won’t address the roof shingles. I feel they have wrongly addressed my issue The roof has never sustained any damag this n 11 years. Other neighbors had storm damage and they got totally repaired. T

I had damage from Harvey to my fence, gutters, garage doors, leaking to shed pátio cover, sheet rock, mold in 4 rooms, press wood, attic damage and my roof.
I had 3 separate roofing professionals assess my damage and tell me I will need a new roof. One of these roofers I had wth me at both of my 2 adjuster meetings with Allstate which they did not accept his inspection but rather called it his opinion yet could not tell me what building codes were in violation due to the damages.
They would not buy my roof and would not repair any other damages other than 1200 worth of Sheetrock. First off I couldn’t find one person to demo repair 4 rooms of sheet rock damage for less than 3000 NOT INCLUDING REPAINT AND RETEXTURING THE CEILING SND NOT INCLUDING WHAT MOLD MAY EXIST BEHIND THE SHEETROCK. Besides. How can you repair Sheetrock if you will continue to have leaks through the roof and re ruin the new Sheetrock DUH...
Allstate told me not to demo my Sheetrock in the event that it is not covered. I HAVE BLACK MOLD IN MY KIDS BED ROOMS. MY KIDS ARE DISPLACED NOW AND MY DOGS HAVE TO REMAIN INSIDE DUE TO THE FENCE DAMAGE. I was forced to make some emergency /temp. Repairs on my own as well.
These are just a few of the problems not to mention the contradiction and complete lack of professional knowledge displayed by the adjusters/claims coordinators.
I have an active lawsuit against Allstate for these damages and have already filed a complaint with the national insurance commissioner as well. I will not stop until this is corrected in full.

I never thought I'd be saying this giving the fact that Allstate is supposed to be such a "good" insurance company. They're not! Dealing with them is like dealing with untrained brainless monkeys. I purchased a second vehicle and they were on my list of insurance companies. I am SO glad I didn't insure with them. Shortly after insurance shopping my first vehicle was completely totaled due to one of their bad drivers. It turned out to be a he said/she said case because their driver IS nothing but a liar. SHE blew a red light. Probably due to her being on her phone seeing that she was only 21 and was dressed like she just left the club. Allstate didn’t want to take responsibility but that’s not the only thing that is completely stupid on their part. They are so bad with lack of communication and lack smarts of all forms. They not only paid and then towed my truck to their own tow yard, but towed it to my house months later. They never called to inform me that they were dropping off a vehicle that I NO LONGER OWN partially in front of my house and partially in front of my neighbors house. Again, brainless untrained monkeys with VERY poor communication skills. I would NEVER recommend Allstate to ANYONE, and the people I know who do insure with them don't even care for them. I would rather insure with a off the wall insurance company rather than deal with Allstate. Terrible company!

Allstate is the worst. Their communication is atrocious and it has screwed me. My local rep did not ask for all of the required information but somehow still managed to activate a policy with me. He never followed up on a missing document that I was never asked for so they dropped the policy without notifying me. Since there was no communication I didn't even know that I was uninsured until it dawned on me that my 6 month of coverage was over soon and I would have to pay another installment. Only then did I find out about the cancellation by calling them, which also means I now have a gap in my coverage. I filed a complaint, it went to underwriting to get my policy reinstated, and my request was denied because you only have a small window of time to catch their poor communication. Now looking for new insurance everyone is placing me in the "high risk" category due to the coverage gap and Allstate on their recorded phone lines said that there is nothing they can do. Their slogan is a load of crap. If you pick Allstate, you are NOT in good hands.

We have had Allstate insure our home and cars for the past four years. Recently, their premiums have skyrocketed, and we decided to switch back to ***, whose quotes were about half what Allstate's were. I had been using "EasyPay" with Allstate to pay the premiums in full at the beginning of the term. Because I did not want this advance payment to kick in for the next term, I unenrolled in EasyPay with about a month left in the current term. I then received a bill for $55.23 from Allstate with the explanation that because I unenrolled in EasyPay, I now owed this amount. The local agent couldn't do anything about it and so "escalated" it. The customer rep who contacted me said that I still owed this money. I told her I had paid the premium in full at the beginning of the term, we had never made a claim and always paid our premiums in advance, and I would not be paying this needless charge. She refused to remove the charge, saying there was nothing she could do about it. I will not do business with Allstate again.

We filed a claim after a reputable roofing company inspected our roof and found heavy wind damage, after we had damage to two rooms in our home, and believed, because our roof was 15 years old, that it needed to be completely replaced. Allstate thought differently and won't even pay for the repairs to the inside of our home, although one of the two rooms had significant damage to the ceiling. Have done business with them for well over a decade, but will be taking our business somewhere else! Very disappointed in Allstate throughout this entire process! Don't recommend AT ALL!!

Allstate made me pay almost $600 for a rental because the auto shop took longer than they thought it should. They paid for a month then decided my truck should be done so they made *** start charging me. So instead of handling it with the body shop, they thought it would be better if they just made me pay for it. I think this is a terrible business practice and should be looked into. If the body shop was taking too long, it should be dealt with them. I had nothing to do with them taking too long. That is between the body shop and the adjuster.

Recently received a letter informing me that my homeowners ins was being canc due to some shingles found lifted on my roof. This notice came from corp Allstate. I received no call from my agent Steve Johnson giving me heads up. Just the letter.
I have been a customer for at least 7 yrs and my Mother prior to that.
Ive never filed a claim and feel this is very unprofessional in how this was handled. I have another property and car with them.
I have filed a complaint with the state of Mo.
