Review: On June *, 2013 my husband and I entered into contract with Allstate Renovations for a job costing $30,200.00. The nature of the renovation was to repair damages caused by Superstorm Sandy which occurred on October **, 2012. The repairs consisted of:

Basement Remodel included the installation of: 1) 7 highhats to ceiling & 5 outlets; 2)insulation on outside walls from ground level up; 3) sheetrock, tape, spakle, & paint; 4) ceramic tile to floor; 5) raised panel doors; 6) reframe walk in laundry room and one wall to boiler room; 7) reset 3 areas in basement walls; 8) replace basement windows, and 9) total clean up. Duration of time: 2-4 weeks.

Renovation to Rear Yard included: 1) removal of trex decking from rear lower section of deck to cement; 2) install new pavers to same area over existing cement color crab orchid, Cambridge armortec; 3) remove trex decking from upper level of deck - do not remove rails; 4) install new trex decking over existing framing to top portion of rear deck; 5) power wash existing rails; 6) install wrought iron rails to both sides of front stairs (black); and 7) total clean up. Duration of time: 2-4 weeks.

There have been three individuals we have dealt with at Allstate Renovations: Bob Amo who developed the contract, [redacted] acting as [redacted] and [redacted] -last name unknown- acting as [redacted]r. It is now the beginning of October 2013, and the work is still not completed; and is in varying states of disrepair. Allstate Renovations barely communicates with the customer, requiring I or my husband to constantly call them to find out updates as the progress and when workers are to return. When workers appear, it is usually one person, and we have no idea when they will appear or when they will return. Often weeks go by and there is no communication from Allstate nor does anyone appear to perform work.

At this point in time, it has taken over 4 months to get sheetrock, flooring, doors, some electrical work, and some painting. There are still no windows, and the basement is still in disarray. Not to mention the work performed is not of the best caliber. It has also taken over 4 months to perform work on the rear deck; however, it remains incomplete and not safe. There are still no rails installed to the front stairs.Desired Settlement: My husband and I would like the job finished and finished well, not halfway leaving safety issues in question. A 2-4 week job has extended itself to 4 months with no explanation and minimal to no communication. The job was financed through Allstate Renovations, who received ALL of the money from GE Capital Bank. I have filed a complaint with the bank, but have little recourse at this time as all $30,200.00 is in Allstate's hands. Further I cannot and do not trust the caliber of the work being performed, and would like to hire an independent inspector - at Allstate Renovation's expense - to review the work.

We want the job finished by the end of October 2013 or a full refund of all the money.

Review: Allstate renovations solicited me by phone which I have refused. The receptionist kept on calling me, she said that Allstate Renovation can make an appointment just to see what I needed to be done. I wanted my master bedroom to be redone with head height... Allstate Renovations came to my home January, [redacted] 2014 and look at my bathroom. He said he will install a dormer with windows, electrical work to be done everything will have to be remove. The bathroom, walls, floors will be tile, replace tub with shower, etc. This work will take 2 weeks. Total clean up. The n

Allstate Renovations solicited me by phone. Allstate Renovations came to my home on January [redacted] 2014 to look at the work I wanted done. I explain to him that I wanted the master bedroom with more head way. He said that a dormer would be a good idea. He will change the entire bathroom, replace the bath tub with a shower, new tiles on the walls, floors, light fixtures etc. the job will cost you $17000.00 2 weeks to finish the job $2000.00 down payment. I paid $2000.00 and in a few days 2 men came and demolished bathroom and all the material is still at the side of the house. I did not receive any phone calls from them since the demolition. receptions will take a message but no calls return . I have visited Allstate Renovations April [redacted] 2014 and the building is unoccupied since February 2014 I do not have a bathroom.Desired Settlement: Finish the job or refund cash

Review: On April [redacted] 2013, I signed three contracts with the representative [redacted] from Allstate Renovations agreeing for renovations to be done to my bathroom, living room, laundry room, side walk repair and concrete repair in front of the property enabling rain water to flow away from my house. The job was scheduled to commence as soon as possible with a completion date of approximately 4 to 6 weeks as stated on the contracts.

Allstate Renovations has not fulfilled their duties and responsibilities as a contractor. Since April [redacted] 2013 not one of the many projects has been completed successfully. I have called countless times and wrote a letter to [redacted] the manager of Allstate Renovations, expressing my concerns and frustration with the lack of progress and quality of work. Communication has been proven to be a problem since the first week of signing the contract. They have failed to contact us even after they received the complaint letter from us. To date, the workers have stopped by approximately 10 different days and only once did [redacted], [redacted], and [redacted] the project manager stop by my house to check on the progress and discuss my concerns. The workers are not sure of their assignment and expressing to me they have no guidance and are not sure of their task which eventually sets us back a few days. My wife and I have lost time from work to supervise the workers and make sure the work is done correctly and effectively, which is unacceptable. Even with our supervision the work is still not done properly.

The living room door frame which was repaired was done very poorly and not sturdy enough giving me a sense of insecurity in my home. The walls have not been cleaned correctly or sand properly for the paint to have been applied. The completed concrete work is horrible; a patch of grass approximately 4x3 ft in front of my property was destroyed leaving me with dried pieces of cement and rocks. The new side walk repair has developed some cracks and the old side walk which was in good condition and did not need to be replaced is now cracked in the process of repairing the bad ones. [redacted]’s response to this issue was; “the sidewalks are old and it is bound to happen when you repair adjoining “flag”.” If it was known that repairing the side walk violation will cause damage to the adjoining sidewalk, why not advise me before the job was done? Or work on a deal to restore the entire sidewalk? The sidewalk repair has caused damage and is unacceptable. Also in front of my house concrete was repaired to make rain water flow away from the house and a drive way was created as well. But since the repairs, the water flows to the side of the house causing a massive puddle which retreats into the house. A barrier approximately 4 inches high was created around the steps and into the drive way, making it difficult for me to park my car and creating a trip hazard. The awning outside my door which is approximately 5 ft by 12 ft is currently held up by a wooden 2 by 4 which is very dangerous. After the concrete work according to the workers was “completed” outside, the property was left with garbage for over a month; metal rods sticking out of the ground, dried cement rocks all over the property and pieces of 2 by 4 on my lawn. My living room repairs began the first week of May and till this date the renovations is not completed.

I signed up for the GE Capital retail bank loan with the representative [redacted]. [redacted] acted as a loan officer for GE bank which at the time my wife and I did not know that this is illegal. [redacted] stated that payments towards the loan will commence 30 days after the completion of the work stated on all contracts, but instead I began to receive bills from GE bank 30 days from when I signed the contract. I soon realized that Allstate renovations received all the money from GE. Keep in mind the work is not completed.Desired Settlement: • Repair the side walk cracks and damage that were done.

• Repair the trip hazard in front of my house.

• Repair the 4inch high barrier which enables me to park in my drive way.

• Clean up the concrete and wood around the property.

• Sand walls properly in living room which were painted.

• Repair door frame correctly.

• Fix the awning properly with new support.

• Begin the bathroom renovation.

• Paint the stucco.

• Finish the living room.

• Replace wall and paint laundry room wall.

• Pitch the concrete in front of the house correctly, enabling rain water to flow away from the property.

• Everything else specified in the contract.

Review: Allstate Renovations solicited me via phone offering their services. After coming to my home and giving me an estimate of $17500 to perform work on my attic. This included electrical insulation windows floors drywall etc. For the first 3 weeks my wife and I had no issues. However after 3 weeks we noticed that Allstate was not showing up to do work when they were suppose to and [redacted]s would not call to inform us. At one point my wife and I saw the drywall that had been put up and the job was poorly done and incomplete. An employee (or possibly [redacted] we don't know) was livid at the work done on the drywall. The drywall was eventually fixed although the quality of the job was done very poorly. This project was to have been completed within 4-6 . At this time it is now almost 12 weeks into this project and very little progress has been made. Furthermore we have called several times asking when they will be coming out complete my attic. On the few occasions that they have returned my calls I've been given excuses and unfulfilled promises. Scheduling has never been issue since my wife is a stay at home mother. I'm getting the feeling that this company is stalling.Desired Settlement: Complete the job they were contracted for in a timely manner. The quality of the work needs to be done to my satisfaction. I need the job done right the first time and I want them to honor the commitments they make

Review: Allstate Renovation was suppose to finish my basement in 4-8 weeks, they started renovating the basement in April. It is now October and Allstate has yet to finish my basement. Allstate has keys for my basement and also my house; because they needed to come in to connect the wires because the circuit breakers are on the 3rd floor of the house. I have made several calls to Allstate and the receptionist always says that some one will call me back but they never do. They left open wires all over the basement and have never come back to finish the work. I was told that everything would be done to New York State code, I had a contractor look over the work they have done and he said that their works is not to up to code.Desired Settlement: I would like them to finish the job with everything up to code in a timely fashion. I would like both my house and basement keys back. If they can't finish the job I want out of the contract with no charge or lien against me, and reimbursement for the work that they have not brought to New York State code.

Review: Hello,

I have tried to call on numerous occasion and the number is no longer in service, ###-###-####. I contracted Allstate to replace my roof and ceilings in the master bedroom & guest room the summer of 2013. I was told by [redacted] that the job would take about 2 weeks, it took 3 months. My ceiling is now leaking again while I am currently paying for the "new" roof that was put in.Desired Settlement: I want someone to fix the problem, or remove the debt.
