I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me.

Review: We wish to lodge a complaint against [redacted] National, because of its unprofessional pattern of doing business.

On 9/17/14, we purchased a laminator from [redacted] National. We paid $1578.58. The order and payment went to [redacted] National and the laminator arrived at the beginning of October, however one part was defective. A replacement part was shipped three weeks later. The laminator never functioned as advertised, and after 2 days of use, we decided to return the product.

We contacted [redacted] on 11/15/14 to initiate the return. [redacted]'s response was that there would be a 20% restocking fee, as that is what their supplier (HOP industries) charges. [redacted] advertises a 15% charge on returns. Nowhere is the higher return fee mentioned. After multiple exchanges, [redacted] agreed to follow its advertised policy and charge us the 15%.

On 12/3/14, we emailed [redacted] to ask them to arrange for pick up and return shipping of the laminator and to take the shipping cost off our refund. The laminator was not picked up by [redacted]'s chosen shipping agent until the first week of February, 2015.

On 3/3/15 we emailed [redacted] to ask where our refund was, and were informed that there was significant damage to the machine which would be deducted from the refund. [redacted] claimed damage occurred during shipping, instructing us to seek relief from UPS for shipping that was commissioned and paid for by [redacted].

It is now March 26, 2015, and [redacted] has been in possession of the laminator since early February. We have not received a penny of the refund legally owed to us.

We are seeking your assistance in this matter. Thanks in advance for any help you can provide.Desired Settlement: We are asking for [redacted] to follow through with their refund on the original amount paid less the 15% restocking fee.
