Allure Window Treatments Reviews (1)

Review: Found this business on the internet in August. Needed new window treatments for bare windows and doors. I was encouraged to visit the showroom. Met [redacted] the designer. Condo owner gave permission to enter even though I the lease hadn't started. [redacted] encouraged me to order Hunter Douglas solar shades to preserve "the view". Apt. is on the 19th floor. She strongly advised ordering valences, adding $300 to total cost. I went back to showroom and spoke with owner [redacted]. I'd already written a deposit check for $837, half of the cost of the shades without the valences. He added the valences but did not check with the designer about order details, so other unwanted changes were also made. On 9/13, 4 days after I moved in, installer arrived and we discovered the bedroom shades were too wide. [redacted] came over and tried to pursuade the installer to force the shades together. I said take everything away and send back to factory for adjustments to protect product warranty. Later, [redacted] phoned and said it's too expensive to remake the shades. I would have to accept them as is. Over the weekend, I emailed the owner and asked for full refund. Thus began a long series of unpleasant phonecalls and emails. I've also spoken several times to someone named [redacted], an official customer service rep for Hunter Douglas (###-###-####). [redacted] keeps insisting he wants to make this right, but he will not make arrangements to come over at a time which fits my school and work schedule. He sent documentation confirming the order cost Allure approximately $691. This means his total markup exceeds 2.5 times his original cost. I keep asking for my money back. Thus far all I have is a check for the difference between Allure's costs and my first deposit, approximately $150. Meanwhile, my 95" x 95" wall of windows in the bedroom is completely bare. Nights are chilly. There are no window coverings in the living room either. This is a highrise. People can see into my apartment. Allure has all the shades.Desired Settlement: I'd like a full refund for the $837 deposit. The envelope containing [redacted]'s proposed settlement arrived but hasn't been opened. [redacted] @Hunter Douglas suggested the factory might be willing to work with Allure and refund the cost of the original order because so many mistakes were made. In addition to not telling me it would be impossible to hand the shades unless they were reverse roll, which you cannot have with valences, we also have problems with size, privacy, and insulation.

HI [redacted] .

I was there this morning as we agreed to try help and resolve this problem .

If there are any measurements issues I would like to see for my self .

You denied me and didn;t want to let me in and that way avoid again from resolving this matter .

I'm not interested in mediation and in fact I'm considering suing you in small claims .

Sincerely,

Thanks [redacted].

I think we need some professional mediation of this dispute, so I filed the Revdex.com complaint last night.

I'm asking for a complete refund. I received the envelope you sent but haven't opened it yet.

A professional installer came over this morning to measure and explain correct options for covering the windows and the sliding door.

All of [redacted]'s measurements are incorrect. The biggest error involved the shade over the sliding door. I don't have the exact number with me, but I think she was off approximately 5 inches in width.

Hi [redacted] .

Don't worry about what we can do with the shades or what hunter will do .

Let focus on getting your shades up /

I can come Thursday morning and work this all out .

But I'm not sure why you are calling and treating us with complains with the Revdex.com and the building, this doesn't help and if it does any thing it just discourage me to try to help .

So please put this a side for now, lets finish this and move on //

Let me know if Thursday morning (9/26) works for you

Ok. Here's a solution. Come and measure the living room window and door. The shades will have to be cut narrower, changed to reverse roll, and the bottoms will need to be changed back flat instead of round.

Here's why. I've consulted with two other local distributors and they've both said the same thing. You and [redacted] should have known better than to change the order to regular roll. Despite what [redacted] says, the cassette is too thick for the overall appearance of the window and ceiling.

I measured the LR. The shades can work if they are gut so they don't cover the door handle, but each one falls right to the side of it.

The bedroom is a different story altogether because the shades aren't the correct product for the room. Again, [redacted]'s bad suggestion.

These windows probably need honeycomb shades with some insulation. It will be obvious when you see the windows, and also how idiosyncratic the woodwork is.

[redacted] from Hunter Douglas told me the factory would work with you if the order needs to be returned. I don't see why they won't negotiate with you if only half the order can't be used, but the other half can be fixed at the factory and sold to the original customer.

Also, it's a lot easier to resell white shades.

So if you agree to fix and sell only the two Living room shades, I think we can work this out to a mutually beneficial agreement.

I will help you find a buyer for the bedroom shades so you can break even. Or maybe you can ask Hunter Douglas to take them back.

I will be out of town tomorrow through Sunday afternoon. Can you come sometime in the morning next week? I think when you see this the mistakes will look obvious to you.

[redacted],

They don't fit as needed. Are you willing to make four new shades to correct specifications at no charge to me?

Because that's what would be needed.

As a consumer, I have every right to see the design details of my order.

All we're doing on this end is trying to be fair to you, so you don't lose any money on the deal.

I plan to file a Revdex.com complaint on Monday. Between now and then I'm open to suggestions.

Hi [redacted] .

Please understand that we don't require to provide measurements for our clients ,There are for our use .

But since you have asked Trying to prove something I will do this exception .

66 1/2 w by 96

51 w by 94

57 1/2 w by 94

Also .

I've offered you to fix what ever problem there are with the shades, but you refused us to do so few times

I offered to come over and sit with you to resolve what looks to me like a simple fix .

Your shades have a life time warranty and we guarantee our measurements .

As you can see in the contract you signed it specifically says that Allure will not accept any cancellation

And that Allure reserves the right to repair or replace any defective item .

I understand you are frustrated but there is nothing I can do for you if you don't allow me to do so .

That why as I told you over the phone I have mailed you a check for $158.99 the difference from my cost .

Also, the shades are here and they are yours if you would still like them ..

Still waiting for EXACT dimensions on the shades. I'm aware this isn't the only problem Allure has had at Independence Place. I'm advertising the shades for sale on our community board.

Meanwhile I've been in touch with Hunter Douglas and was told this morning they're playing "telephone tag" with you.

I'm still expecting 100% refund whether or not another IP resident buys these shades from you. Kindly send the exact dimensions ASAP.

Thank you.

As we agreed on the phone a few minutes ago, I would like to have copies of the exact order which was placed with Hunter Douglas.

I will not cash any check you send me until you make full disclosure. As a customer, I have a right to see the specifications of my order.

I plan to follow up with Hunter Douglas and the Revdex.com.

Thank you.

[redacted],

This morning, I left a voicemail asking to speak with [redacted]. Although I'm trying to cooperate with Allure, there have already been too many problems with these shades.

I'm not accepting a new installation appointment, and I would like my deposit returned in full.

As I indicated in last night's email, I think your measurements for this type of product are off. I probably could have purchased and installed anything else for less than what I've already paid to Allure. Yet, here I sit with no privacy and bare windows!

I've contacted a different company to measure the windows. I plan to follow up on this directly with Hunter Douglas.

You have my address. I'm waiting for [redacted] to return my call. I will be asking him to mail me a check for the full deposit on this order.

Thank you.

ID [redacted].

My name is [redacted] and I'm the owner of allure wt llc

This is a reply for the letter I got on Sep 30th in reference of the above ID #

This order has been place by our head designer who works for me for over 4 years and like family to ma.

She has never lied or was ever in any kind of alteration with any one of our clients in the past.

She is extremely professional and will always attend any issues that accrue from time to time.

My policy and my company’s policy is to take full responsibility about any mistake we make and fix them in a timely matter. We would never avoid finishing a job correctly as this is our reputation and we care about that more than making a profit.

As to this case specifically.

I heard about it after the customer has called the office on the week of Sep 22nd complaining about the install.

After looking into the complaint and talking to my sales person I realized this was all a communication issue.

At the same day I called our customer to hear her complaints , I listen and assured her we will take care of the problem whatever it is , and asked her if I could come over to see her and verify what the problem is and how to solve it.. (Look over the emails I'm attaching)

Through years of experience I realized that in order to solve a problem we have to figure what the problem is first.

That's why I offered to come by WHEN EVER she can see me , bring the shades and see exactly what the issue is and how to solve it!! (also in the emails)

We have emails about meeting (Attached here) and we ended up setting time on Thursday Sep 26th at 8 am.

I came in that morning called her from the front desk and she has refused to see me or to let me

in.

At this point I was very frustrated, how can I help someone who doesn't want my help.

I feel like she had changed her mind about getting shades and now demand a refund, on our contract she has signed, it says no refunds and that allure reserve the right to repair or replace any shade that has any kind of issue.

This offer still stands!!!

I will attach our email conversation as this will prove my effort to resolve this issue and her avoidance.

Please note she has lied about me not making Any effort to meet with her,

She has lied about allure asking for any additional payments to reorder !l (I even offered her $300 discount)

I would like to talk to someone for Revdex.com about this to see your plan of action

Sincerely [redacted] - owner Allure window treatments [redacted]
