I've emailed her and told her that we can have someone come back out on the 17th or 19th of JuneI will await her reply

First off, cant strip is manufactured in 2", 3", and 4" for this type of roof system.Second: you do not and cannot adhere torch down to the cant strip, as it is flammableThat is why there's a base sheet in between the cant strip and torch down, as that is fire resistent.Thirdly, as per ***...we are allowed to "kick" the walls and course them, not with flashing-nor install flashingYour parapet walls are too short to install flashing, and that is why they were coursed (and coursing IS allowed on this roof system).Fourth: crickets are NOT required....only if you have a wall at the bottom end of roof...this area is at the high end of the roof.Fifth: The roof failed in this area due to wind damage, and this is our final stance on this matter

Customer has not maintenanced his roof. Lack of maintenance (sealing penetrations and laps periodically and keeping debris off of roof) voids our warranties. Some of the leaks in the Foyer were caused by a parapet wall (yet we spent our time and money and labor to go out there each time he had...

called, even though some of the calls that came in were caused by a parapet wall), which customer admits in his complaint as to hiring someone to fix that. He's been told on numerous occasions when we've been there to maintenance his roof---PILES of leaves have been found on roof each and every time (Ricardo Ortiz told him on 07/17/12, Kevin told him on 07/30/12, Gerald F** told him on 09/12/14,  Kevin told him on 02/20/15, Joseph Enos told him on 05/21/15 (at which time Joseph told him that if he does not have his roof maintenanced by us, it'd void his warranty), Gerald F** told him on 06/18/15, and on 09/21/16 Alister told him as well). Alister, the EMPLOYEE, who went on 09/21/16 has a VERY different story of the conversation that took place. I've enclosed photos of the roof taken on 09/21/16...we'd pulled back leaves to look at the roof. I've also attached our letter to him dated 10/10/16...which does NOT state what customer says it does. If water is trapped on the roof, due to debris not allowing it to flow freely, the water will in fact deteriorate the roof. Maintenance is a must. It is our standing that our warranty is voided due to lack of maintenance.

A 4 inch cant strip is required. At many places on the roof there is simply no room for the cant strip as the roofing material makes a sharp  90 degree turn. In other places where there is room for the cant strip (if is there at all) the roofing material bridges the cant strip rendering the cant strip useless as it does not support the roof. The roofing material is currently held to the side walls by three coursing. The GAF technical guide specifically states that this is insufficient and not a substitute for proper fastening. Base flashing is still required and was never installed on the roof and crickets are required and were never installed. The poor workmanship on my roof is causing it to fail. The area of the roof with the large creased ripple needs to be replaced. When this is replaced it will reveal the cant strip if they are present or not. If they are there, the roofing material must be adhered to them to make them functional. If they are not there they need to be installed. Wind damage is a convenient excuse but not plausible. There was a 6 inch gap where the roof pulled away from the three coursing fabric. Nothing was torn as wind would have to do in order to lift a 20 foot section of the roof in order to create a ripple. No other part of the roof was damaged, no trees or branches were lost and the shingles on a nearby shed were undamaged. My initial concerns stand.  Thank you for the information. It is clear to me that Almeida Roofing is a very dishonest company and that they have zero interest in cooperating with any type of resolution. Certainly a $3500 maximum judgement, that I will have to fight them in court to receive, would not be worth anyone’s time or effort. If I were to use the courts, it would be in my best interest to sue for the entire cost of a new roof. The quality of their workmanship is blatantly substandard to anyone that is familiar with the roofing system. They do not stand behind this substandard work and skirt their own warranty by claiming wind damage. One could easily argue that THEY are responsible for their roofs being damaged by the wind because they improperly install the roof system. In my case, there is no wind damage and yet that is still their claim. In my opinion, this company should not be a registered contractor nor a member of the Revdex.com, as they are incompetent and dishonest. They will continue to prey on homeowners for as long as they can. They cater to residents of Sun City as indicated on their website. This is a very vulnerable segment of our society and should be protected not exploited as I am sure Almeida is doing. I hope the Revdex.com will consider bringing down Almeida’s grade substantially to more clearly reflect the dishonesty of this company and perhaps spare another homeowner from making the same mistake that I did by trusting and hiring them.I will not be pursuing arbitration and my complaint should be considered unresolved to my satisfaction.Thank you,[redacted]

First of all, there IS cant strip at the walls. Just because you cannot see it, does not mean that it is not there. You'd have to cut the roof open to make that statement. The parapet wall is very short...and there are several ways to seal kickers at the wall, not just with a flashing. We have seen...

microbursts remove parts of roofs, and set an entire section onto a different part of the roof. I never said that I'd never seen that before--I in fact stated that it is wind damage. The estimate that was given was because the customer asked for an estimate for a coating...I told her I'd fix that crease while there for the coating.

Bureau:
I have accepted June 19th as a day for Almeida to come by and surveil the previously identified areas of concern.  If they choose to complete the repairs to my satisfaction, I will consider the matter closed.

We are very happy that we chose Almeida Roofing. The entire process of bidding and installation was handled in a very professional and customer service oriented manner. Their bid was fair and everything was done with keeping me informed as one of their priorities. When they found the bad wood that I knew they would, they brought it to our attention immediately. The installers were all very friendly and they cleaned everything up. I would and have recommended them to friends and neighbors. We have had a few storms since they installed it and not a drop has entered our home. Thank you Almeda Roofing!

My experience with Almeida Roofing was fantastic. They accommodated me into their schedule in a timely manner. I was very pleased with the work on my patio roof. When they were done their clean up procedures were awesome. Cleaned up after themselves and made everything look nice and neat.

The Almeida team replaced my flat foam roof. The project was completed on schedule and the clean-up was well done.

This is a company I would highly recommend.

Terrific experience with this company! Almeida did everything they promised and when the job was finished, they cleaned up so well you wouldn't even know they had been at our house. Very professional and timely. Would definitely do business with this company again.

Almeida Roofing installed a new roof following damage from a storm. Not only was their price competitive, there professionalism exceeded my expectations. My roof installation was quick. This company is excellent. They are trustworthy and dependable. I would highly recommend Almeida Roofing.

Review: Almeida Roofing installed a complete tear off re roof in October 2012. They neglected to remount the stands of the air conditioning unit to the house it was sliding down the roof. It was an emergency situation so I called my AC company J & J HVAC to remount the unit .Almeida roofing was rude and didnot want to take responsibility because I didn't call them and use their company. Now 5/24/13 my fairly new (3 yrs old) evap cooler was mounted crooked and all the water was running down the roof damaging the new shingles and the cooler. They put roofing tar around pvc drain which caused the unit to start rusting out.I called them and once again they were extremely rude and uncooperative.

I am requesting reinbursement for the remount of the evap cooler and a new cooler as the life of it is now ruined because it has already started to rust.Desired Settlement: Reinbursement of the corrective remount of the evap cooler and replacement of the evaporative cooler, due to the rusting.

For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.Regards,[redacted]I had to wait several months until my cooler was mounted properly. In the meantime , damage was being caused to the unit. The AC Contractors said it was almost totally rusted out. Almeida roofing is responsible due to the neglect of the remount to the cooler.

Business

Response:

The cooler was already starting to be rusted out before we got there. It is not our fault that her AC tech does not know how to re-set the float. Also, there was an AC tech there last year (same AC company--we have a copy of his invoice) and no damage was reported at that time. There was also no leakage reported at that time. We will not be replacing her cooler.
