Aloha Mind Math Reviews (1)

Aloha Math Classes are teaching the Kids only for 50% of the session time. My daughter [redacted] has attended Aloha Math program from Feb 2015. There is one class every week, which is for duration of 2 hours. I am paying 125$ per month. Every hour costs about 15$. My daughter was taught and worked on subject for just one hour. In the second hour, she was just playing with her class mates. After few classes, she started to take cross word activity book to the class. This is a math class, but she has to spend her time by doing crossword. Aloha institute just spend 50% of the time on course work. When I complained to Aloha about this, they said, for her age (7 yrs) , she cannot concentrate more than an hour. I asked them why the course is designed for 2 hours a day. I did not get a proper reply. Then, I requested to split the classes for 2 days a week, one hour each. They said, they cannot do that. When I wanted to stop my kid from course explaining above reasons, they made me to pay for one more month as per their notice clause. During registration, they said I can discontinue anytime, as there is no contract. They did not disclose this clause properly. They said they can discontinue with reasonable advance notice. I told them that my Kid will not attend any more classes after I gave the notice. They did not have a courtesy to not to charge, for the classes that will not attended/utilized. As an educational institute, I expected Aloha to have some values. But, it turned out, that, they just look for charging the students. They don't care whether the student is attending the class or not, whether their classes are received/taught properly or not.Desired SettlementAs Aloha has not taught my kid for agreed upon hours per session, I want 50% of the course fees for first 5 months (312$) to be refunded to me plus the fees for the notice period, (classes were not attended) (93.75$). A total of 406.25$Business Response Hello Sir/Maam,First of all to answer to all the above questions the consumer has :Our classes are 2 hrs per week and thats the way we teach and operate through the 200+ centers aloha has, secondly the client never came more than 5 mins before the pick up time to say the kids hasn't been doing her cw the entire time, secondly [redacted] is one of the slower kids we have and takes more or if not all of the class time to finish her cw and the only time she finished sooner was during the model test which is for a lesser duration of time but still did the 2 hrs class as we practice more than 30-40 individual mind math problems with them, his concern was always intended in moving the kid to the higher level sooner which we tried too but couldn't as the kid was not able to cope up she was pushed too much by the parents and we are very honest with the parents in letting them know the same, secondly he said he wanted to bring the child twice a week instead of 1 session we said its not how we operate, aloha in whole of usa operates once a week for 2 hrs becos theres that much amount of cw to be done by the kids in class, we said we didn't mind seeing her twice for free and could help her in hw at that time, he always had a question of what she's learning and when we are trying to explain it was on always pushing her up, lastly its true we dont have any contracts as we only have a months notice to be given when they need to take a break or cease aloha for once and all, that is the doc each and every aloha parent signs at the time of joining and that is also being explained prior to joining us too, we have a no refund option as the kid attended all the sessions and anything she missed she's more than welcome to attend them, hope this detail helps, please let us know if we need to submit any proof of docs to show that he signed for the one month notice and such.Revdex.com is a very reputed organization and we as a national chain believe in you'll but at the same time we don't want consumers taking that as an advantage in trying to report a false accusation on any business for that matter, when there is in actual no fault of ours and theres only so much we can do in a kids perspective point, we are bound by the kids age and personal growth when we need to make certain decisions, we want kids to love coming to our place learn love and enjoy math but not our math to be a burden, thank you !Consumer Response [redacted] is a well performing kid in school with high grades. I can provide proof. She also did well in her Aloha level 1 exam. Aloha graded her with score of 90+. I am surprised to hear that She is slow performing!!. It was never communicated to me. It looks like Aloha is trying to blame my child's ability to cover up their lapses in their course design. It is designed in such a way so that Parents keep paying more fees to Aloha. Yes, [redacted] spent 2 hours in Aloha Classroom every session. But, she was taught and occupied in math work for only 45 minutes. The rest of the 75 minutes she was allowed to chat and play. Anyone waiting in Aloha premises will wonder, whether this a coaching center or play center. I did not pay Aloha to baby sit my daughter. I paid them to teach math for 2 hours. But, they taught only for 45 minutes, which is my complaint.Once, I figured out that this course is not useful, I wanted to stop my kid. I clearly communicated them in email that my child will not attend any more classes. Still, they went ahead and charged for another month. I can provide proof of my communication and proof of the date of fees debited. One month notice clause may be something I signed up for. I don't see any ethical value in charging me after I communicated that my child will not attend any more class. The franchise owner offered 2 classes per week, so that child can progress faster, but I was asked to pay for those extra sessions. They never offered this option for free. For the record, my child did not attend any classes for the last month. Aloha just went ahead and charged me, with complete conscious that student will not attend for notice period fees. She will not attend anymore because it is waste of time. The things she is going to learn cannot be used in her school work. Final Business Response Hi Revdex.com Sir/ma'am, this is the issue we had with the client from day one he had always questions and didn't give us a chance to explain and on top of that he wasn't waiting for us to explain but inspite started talking loudly and rudely in front of other parents instead of coming in and talking to us in the office, how do we report against parents who have been rude and disrespectful to us and who think they can talk anything and everything to us or on us as we own a business and its their right to blame. We have very simple set policies 2 hrs classes per week and 1 months notice which is clearly disclosed at joining, the client chose not to attend the last one month notice period class, we even agreed to give 2 hrs extra free session too per week to keep the client happy even though we did explain it will be too burdening for the kid and for all the extra things he wanted from aloha. I guess there's always someone who wants everything and we tried our very best to work with this customer.I would suggest Revdex.com to take decision in this matter. Thanks
