Aloha Service & Retail Reviews (1)

We met with Jimmy Gladden at Aloha Pools location (in North Little Rock) in September to discuss installation of a salt water poolHe had Barry Hamilton (Aloha Pools) send us via email a quote/contract in which we accepted after Jimmy told us that he could save us at least 20% off that priceWe were under the impression that Jimmy was the owner and was able to offer this discountJimmy was informed at that time the timing of when we needed the pool completed (by end of November) in order to close on our new construction by December 15thWe made the down payment according to the Aloha Pools contract we signedJimmy did not show up to start the pool until December after numerous attempts to get him to come finish timelyWe offered to seek another pool company and get our deposit back if he didn't have time to finish timely, but he kept ensuring us he'd get it doneThe pool hole was dug and walls started in December, in which we made our next payment according to the contractHe had the concrete subcontractor to start on the concrete late December/early JanuaryHe then told us his subcontractors were demanding payment up front so he asked that we pay him our next payment ahead of schedule (paid total of $30,to Jimmy)After we made that payment on December 30, Jimmy did not show back up to finishHis subcontractors that performed all the work up to that point started demanding payment from us and threatening a lien on our house because Jimmy did not pay them for their work and/or some contractors had checks bouncing that he did pay themJimmy was telling them that we had not paid him; therefore, he couldn't pay them which was not correctJimmy would not return phone calls to any of us at that point because he knew we had caught on to his schemeHe did respond to a text which was the last communication I had with him stating he didn't have any money to give us back on the pool and we could sue him because he has nothing ,but the truck he was living out ofHindsight we found out that Jimmy was not the owner of Aloha Pools, but instead he was the owner of Aloha Services which was very misleading since we met with him at the location of Aloha Pools and also since we wrote all checks out to Aloha Pools and Spa which were cashed by him under their company nameWe called Aloha Pools and Spa to see try to speak to owner since Jimmy was associated with them and appeared as an agent of that business (and the checks were cashed under Aloha Pools), and we did not get a return phone call back from the ownerThe Sales Rep, Barry Hamilton, who provided the quote/contract originally stated Jimmy was asked to leave Aloha due to entering agreements under their business/taking their businessWe paid Jimmy total of $30,of which we were only suppose to have to pay out a max of $35,716, but end up having to pay another pool company to complete our pool which was close to $50,which is a basic pool because we didn't have the money to get the bells and whistles that we originally had contracted with him to do since we had to pay him and another pool company to finishWe also incurred additional expense on other subcontractors such as sprinkler company due to having delays in pool finishing which delayed sprinkler company from finishing their part timely so additional money in renting equipment, etcWe also did not get to close on our house until 1/months later due to pool not being completedJimmy had always been a reputable person personally and professionally in the past which is why we chose to work with him through Aloha, but apparently recently started having issues with his work ethic according to people we have talked toWe personally knew Jimmy so tried to resolve with him by offering that he could pay us back in installments, but he chose to ignore us and not return calls or texts to make it rightWe did not want it to end this way ,but we have no other choice but to warn others of his unprofessionalism and fraudulent schemes
