physician. Upon checkout, patient was informed of what would be collected for the visit. Patient did not understand why the fee was so much. It was explained to her what was discussed during the visit and what she was being billed for. Pt verbalized understanding and frustration, but paid her balance due. A month later, she sent a portal message to her physician to discuss this issue. After some back and forth conversation, the patient expressed that she was being taken advantage of and she felt the actions on behalf of the physician were unethical. Without violating patient's rights, I cannot discuss specific details regarding the encounter.
