We have reviewed the complaint of [redacted] came in 11/04/15 concerned about his oil leak. I then had a technician inspect his 2002 Honda Accord which we found 2 separate oil leaks. One oil leak was coming from the oil pan which requires...

2 hours of labor, oil pan set, oil pan, and oil which was first approved by [redacted]. We then talked about his second leak which were the front engine seals : balance shaft seats, crankshaft seal, and camshaft seal, In order to replace these seals the timing belt comes out as well as water pump and based on mileage this has never been done to the car. This job consists of 5+ hours of labor requires water pump, timing belt, seals, coolant, tensioners, pulleys, coolant, and bleeding of the system. On average this job could be anywhere from $790-$1100 but since he was already getting work with us I lowered the cost. You can refer to this link http://repairpal.comiestimator/results. Manufacturer recommends replacing these essential components at 105,000 miles. I then stated the separate costs it would be to replace the second repair which was $650 + tax. After approving the second repair I then clarified his new amount would be over $1100 + tax. lie stated that was ok. We then finished the repairs and let [redacted] know his car was ready. His wife then came in and this is where the confusion occurred. She was very upset stating it was only $600 for all repairs and I clearly let her know that I spoke with her husband and he approved everything. We then called him together and he stated that it was ok and authorized his wife to pay. At Alonso's Auto Repair we do keep track of every job that is authorized and at the exact time, as I will attach. Also simply out of courtesy to [redacted] for any inconvenience he may have experienced we offered him store credit of $300 which he gladly used on 11/16/15 on his wife's 2001 Honda Civic. Unfortunately we did try to resolve this issue and am sorry to hear about this complain but again simply out of courtesy we gave him $300 store credit and repaired a valve cover gasket which was another $133.46.
