Alpen windows. I will try to make this as succinct as possible.
We purchased windows from this Boulder Company. They were installed. Now they are all bowed and bent. They were replaced under Warranty June 2018. Then in Sept they said they would replace them again. They have had the windows ready for replacement since December... Now the rest of the windows are also needing to be replaced under warranty, but they are refusing to replace them. Alpen no longer sell this make of window. After the issues we have had with them, they decided it was not a good window. They stopped selling and told us they would replace the windows with their higher end window that should not bow and leak air and water… They have yet to come through.
I have been talking with them for the last 2.5 years to fix the window issues. They are very slow to respond and overall, I initially thought there was a hope as they were still working with us. The last email I received today shows they are refusing to work with us and no longer want to fix the issues their windows have caused
It has been years of being patient and trying to work with this company. I still have windows that leak air and water. The windows are so bent, we had a pane of glass break from the pressure and bending.
Alpen has worked diligently with Ms. over the past 2+ years to address the window issues associated with her residence. The following is a timeline of the sequence of events;
· Vinyl Windows, not manufactured by Alpen, were shipped to Ms. in October of 2016.
· The installation of the windows, performed by Ms.’s installation contractor, took place in February of 2017.
· Ms. communicated with Alpen in the Spring of 2017 that there were problems with her windows on the west elevation of her residence. Alpen visited the site and informed Ms. of significant installation issues, which were beyond the scope of the Alpen purchase order and consequently not the responsibility of Alpen.
· Alpen returned to the site in the summer of 2017 and following inspection, Alpen communicated with Ms. that the installation issues had not been corrected.
o Some of the installation deficiencies;
§ Not properly shimmed for plumb, square and level.
§ Not properly supported at the base of the windows.
§ Not properly flashed for air and water protection.
o Due to the extended time frame of the installation deficiencies mentioned above, window integrity was compromised.
· In the fall of 2017, as goodwill, Alpen offered to replace the compromised windows on the west elevation and Ms. accepted.
· December of 2017 Ms. shared with Alpen that there were water and air leakage occurring on the west facing windows.
· Alpen made multiple trips to the site over the next months to assess and attempt to repair the leakage problems
o Visits were;
§ January 2018 (2 visits)

§ April 2018
§ May 2018
§ June 2018
§ August 2018
· In a continued effort to satisfy Ms., September of 2018, Mr. Brad ***, CEO and Principal at Alpen, made a decision to replace all of the original vinyl windows on the west elevation of the house with Alpen’s premier Fiberglass window, manufactured by Alpen, to include taking responsibility for the installation.
o Locating a qualified installer willing to take on this project with the coming winter weather became futile.
o The Spring of 2019, we were able to secure a qualified installer, however, after visiting the site and meeting with the owners, the installer refused to move forward with contracting to perform the installation.
o Additional attempts were made with other possible installers to no avail.
o In June of 2019 Alpen was able to add highly qualified installation experienced personnel to the Alpen company. With this addition, the installation of the replacement fiberglass windows can be performed with in-house personnel. The opportunity to install the new Fiberglass windows with in-house highly qualified installation personnel has been communicated to Ms., by Mr..
It should be noted;
· The new premier Fiberglass Windows have been built for several months and now that we have an installation solution, are able to be installed at a mutually agreeable date, as soon as possible.
· In the history of the company, Alpen has never before been reported to the Revdex.com. We take our reputation very seriously as you can see by the extra mile we have gone on this project.
· Ms. states in her Revdex.com statement that Alpen offered to replace all the vinyl windows with fiberglass and that Alpen has changed their mind and are now refusing to do this, which is not accurate. Alpen has offered to replace the vinyl windows with fiberglass on the West side.
· Any issues with other elevations need to be assessed under the terms of the Alpen warranty, which we are perfectly willing to execute on. At no point has any representative of Alpen expressed refusal to work with Ms., as she states in her complaint. Alpen has always and will continue to both assess and remediate any issues associated with the manufacturing of the windows that Alpen has provided to Ms..
We look forward to working towards a solution with Ms. that hopefully satisfies her. We are a reputable, well-established company that has a legacy of manufacturing and shipping high-quality products.

We are a busy homebuilder in NYC Metro area. Our client wanted to purchase Alpen windows direct for their project and we agreed. The windows are ok quality. The problem is the order came in wrong. The grills were at different heights, which we really don't understand because there are 3 units side by side, and a large window came in that was ordered tempered and came in regular glass. Long story short, the service is horrendous, after a few months of waiting, Alpens third party delivery service showed up and left the crate of replacement windows in the street. We had to have carpenters go to the site, when they opened the crate, most of the replacement windows were broken. When our customer called and re-ordered, we told them to have their warranty co receive the order, they ignored us and gave the third party trucking co. our phone number. We had no choice but to go again and receive the order. When we asked Alpen for re-reimbursement for material handling and disposal of the broken windows, they refused to pay. Finally the Alpen repairman showed up, he checked what Alpen sent and said it was once again incorrect. Now we have a home nearing completion, which can not pass its final inspection because of the tempered window issue. Alpen sent an e-mail letting the customer know to deal with their repair handyman direct because thats the way they work. After this experience we will not be allowing our customers to buy any windows direct from these one off small manufacturers, (we had very similar problems with Zola, another one off manufacturer). We strongly suggest you stick with a national manufacturer with a track record and avoid the hassle of these small unreliable companies.
