I went to alpha fleet service on 05.23.17 to fix bad vibration in my truck. They removed my driveshaftshaft and took it to d***'s truck service because d***s specialize in drivelines. They took it there to have it balanced and check it out for problems as they told me. They said d***s found 2 bad u joints and 1 bad yoke. Ok. They replaced 2 u joints, 2 yokes, and charged me $1843.46 for that. $375 was for balancing driveshaft. It didn't fix the problem and I went to d***s myself. Mr D told me that they looked at my shaft, they didn't balance my driveshaft, just pointed to alpha that it had 2 bad u joints and 1 bad yoke. Again they didn't balance it. And they didn't charge them anything for that. Also d***s truck service found my real problem. It was bad motor mount. I went to alpha after this and told Michael s***, the owner about it requesting refund for $375. He refused and said I have no proof they didn't balance it. He said they did it somewhere else but refused to tell me where and refused to give me receipt for this being done. He told me I can go to court if I want but I have no proof. They also overcharged me $130.92 on parts comparing to freightliner dealer estimate. Now I paid total $1843.46 to alpha, they didn't fix my vibration problem, charged me $375 for service that was never done, overcharged me $130.92 for parts. And trucks still broken. I'm going to d***s next week to fix the problem and would like to get my 375+130.92=$505.92 back out of $1843.46. These guys alpha fleet service as scam artists! They refused to give me refund and said I have no proof that they didnt balance my shaft. And they refuse to give me proof if it was balanced and where. They said I can go to court trying to get my money back if I want. This happened in Washington state and I'm from Maryland state. I can send you all receipts and documents if needed. I hope Revdex.com can help me to get some of my money back from these alpha scammers. Thanks

came to our shop complaining of “vibration to the back of the truck" when he drives loaded and empty. After troubleshooting and completing a test drive with our tech, we found damaged U-joints and yokes, which we recommended be replaced and also to balance the driveline since the problem was old. He had changed the U-joints a couple months ago. He agreed, asking if we can guarantee this will resolve the issue. We explained to this customer there is no guarantee, due to the fact that there may be other possible problems. However, if we see an obviously damaged parts we recommend to replace it first and then if this still hasn’t resolved the issue, perform further diagnostics. Customer agreed and work was done. The next day *** returned, saying that he still had the vibration and he wanted his money back since “we lied to him and didn’t balanced his driveline”. We asked him do to a test drive again with our technician, however, he refused. To prove his driveline was balanced, we offered to take his driveline and balance it in front of him with no charge, he also refused. As the customer was not willing to work on the issue further, we explained to him that we performed the work which he confirmed and agreed to do. He started threatening that he will call the police and give us very bad review. Regarding to complaint #***You e mailed me that this complaint has been resolved because I didn't respond to you in 7 day. Unfortunately I didn't receive your email because somehow it ended up in spam/junk folder and I didn't see it. Well, now I'm redponding back to you. I've looked at response from Alpha and it's not everything true. I'm requesting a refund for "balancing my driveline" because it was never done. Alpha said that they don't have such equipment for doing that. They said they sent my driveshaft (driveline) to another shop specializing in drivelines and balancing. When I requested reciept from alpha where they balanced my shaft at, they refused to give it to me. I spoke to that another shop (dirks repair) where alpha took my driveshaft to and dirks shop said they don't balance driveshafts at all. They dont have equipment for that either. That's how I realized alpha scammed me for $375 for "balancing my shaft". They also charged me for parts $130.92 more than estimate from freightliner dealer. Alpha didn't give me any prior estimate for this repair whatsoever. Just gave me the overpriced bill when theyre done.I don't have any issues with replacing my u joints. They were bad. But still alpha misdiagnosed the problem and it didn't solve the vibration. But when they offered me further diagnostic on my truck I refused to that because they charged me for balancing my driveshaft that they never balanced. And they refused to provide me with paperwork where it was balanced(after Ive found out that place where they took it to doesnt balance drivelines). Any shop that balances drivelines must provide paperwork of that's been done and if driveline bad or good(diagnostic results). I don't agree that balancing of driveshaft was done by alpha. alpha said that they can remove my driveshaft again and balance it in front of me but they don't have such equipment to do that as they said 2 days earlier. How were they gonna balance it then??? . The problem that they scammed me for $375 for "balancing my driveline" that was never performed and they overcharged me $130.92 for parts without any prior estimate.Sincerely

As the customer was not willing to work on the issue further, we explained to him that we performed the work which he confirmed and agreed to do. He started threatening that he will call the police and give us very bad review. Also, answering his request regarding money return for overcharging him on the parts. We can say that we gave him a price for his parts prior to the repair and he verbally approved it. It doesn’t matter what the dealer’s price or any other place’s price is for a part. This is an industry standard.

Regarding failing to comply to the verbal labor estimate, we can prove our tech’s time that he spent with his truck. This is the meaning of word “estimate”. It can be longer or shorter. And due to the nature of the job it cannot be exactly measured, before job is completed.
