THANK YOU!Business Response Contact Name and Title: [redacted], CEOContact Phone: XXX-XXX-XXXXContact Email: [redacted]@alphamarketing.comPlease be advised that this consumer complaint has been mistakenly filed against my company rather than whoever is behind the automated phone calls the consumer is referring to.In June of this year we were first alerted by a consumer that they were receiving numerous automated phone calls with the name Alpha Marketing appearing in the caller ID. We immediately put a page up on our website acknowledging our awarness of these phone calls but informing that is not our company that is making them. This web page can be viewed at:[redacted]We then reported this situation in writing to the office of the Attorney General of North Carolina, where our company is based, and were advised by that office that apparently our company name had been "spoofed" by an unknown telemarketing company in an effort to hide their own identity. We were further advised that there is no way to trace the phone numbers to find out whoever is behind these calls because they can change both the caller ID and the phone numbers that they appear to be calling from at will. We were also informed that most "spoofers" only use the same caller ID for a short period of time before picking some other random name to appear in the caller ID.Upon hearing this we engaged a law firm with regards to the situation and they wrote on our behalf to inform both the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) and the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) that we had been made aware that the name of our company, Alpha Marketing, was falsely being associated with automated phone calls to consumers. The letter asked both the FCC and the FTC to provide assistance in locating and stopping whoever is generating these calls. We have not heard back from the FTC or FCC yet with regards to our request. Please note that Alpha Marketing adheres to the anti-spam CAN-SPAM Act of 2003 for our business email practices and does not engage in consumer email marketing or consumer telemarketing. While our company name is Alpha Marketing, we are not a telemarketing company, we did not make these calls, and we are not the company that is behind the telemarketing campaign that the consumer is reporting.
