We have been in contact with the client and are in process of providing remedies.

We always appreciate customer feedback and we take it very seriously. We are sorry about the frustration that this person has experienced. We do want to give our perspective on this situation. 1.  We provided a bid for the work that the customer requested which was to install a new flat roof...

and gutters to fix drainage issues.2.  The customer accepted the bid and contract.3.  We provided the services outlined in the customer’s contract, and installed a brand new, leak-free flat roof to manufacturer's specifications. 4.  We never did quote gutters covers. They were not on the bid or the contract. We indeed did offer some gutter covers for free that we already had on hand at our shop if they wanted to attach them themselves. We do not install gutter covers, but we use a subcontractor, and unfortunately, the subcontractor was booked out for months, which was out of our control and is why we advised the customer to hire someone else to do the gutter covers.5.  The customer's problems occurred after the roof was installed.  The customer did not like the way the water was running off of the roof. which was what the water is supposed to do. They wanted the water to "pond" on the roof as it had in the past.  The problem with letting water pond on a flat roof is that it damages the roof. This is most likely why they had leaking and damage in the first place.   6.  Because of the water drainage that the customer was concerned about, we requested the Owens Corning Representative to inspect this roof to determine the cause of the problems.  Was it our workmanship or something else? Also, we were concerned about performing alterations on the roof that would void the warranty, which does not protect the customer, nor us.7. The Owens Corning rep said that the issue with the drainage was structural and he confirmed that a one-way cricket replacing the original two-way cricket was the proper resolution to the water intrusion.  8. We have provided the following additional services to this customer, for free. •             Caulked corner near outside edge of roof. •             Installed a heat welded, three-layer cap sheet diverter/cricket on second story, left, elevation where the water was dripping near the hot tub. •             Installed two pieces of angled downspout gutters and one piece of straight gutter to gutter located to left of front door to channel that water into first story gutter 8. We will gladly fix the gutter that is not hitting the ground. We provide a 10-year workmanship guarantee and we stand behind it. We have applied hundreds of roofs in the Treasure Valley over the last 12 years and we have hundreds of happy customers. 8.  We are sorry that we could not meet this customer's expectations. We have built this business because we take pride in "roofing done right."  Sometimes what a customer wants because of convenience to them is not what is "right" for a roof. In this case, we were very concerned about voiding the manufacturer's warranty by deviating from manufacturer specifications for this type of roof.9.  We have provided the customer the written documentation as to what was done to remedy her water drainage concerns and what we suggest to further remedy her concerns.
