I am writing in response to the complaint above filed by Mr [redacted] * [redacted] I apologize for the delay in a response but I only received the complaint/email on March 5, when it was brought to my attention I immediately contacted Mr [redacted] to discuss the situation but was met with resistance and was told he would see me in small claims court. My company, Alpha Sewer Service, was contacted and work was completed on February 9, to clear the sewer/septic line of debris which was causing an issue with baat his residence Our machines are equipped with cutters that are capable of cutting through and cleaning out any debris that is obstructing the flow in the lines That is the main purpose of these cable machines.Unfortunately this also includes any water lines that may have been accidentally installed through the sewer lines which would result in the said water line being in the path of the cutter/cables going through this line I am not and can not be responsible for the error that another person/contractor did by allowing a water line to penetrate and go through a sewer line system. When Mr [redacted] brought the broken water line to my attention it was appropriate for me to refer him to another company equipped to do these types of repairs The company I referred him to is my son's business, Alpha Plumbing LLC, who is a licensed plumber and also a licensed excavator When I discussed the situation with Mr [redacted] on March 5th he stated that he and a friend did the repairs He rented an excavator for 5+ days to complete the repairs The cost and wage loss he incurred was his personal choice Repairs would have been done in a more cost effective and timely manner had he contacted a licensed plumber and excavator I am standing by my company's position that I am not responsible for the errors of another person/company that caused the water line to be in the path of the cable and cutters used to clear any said debris in the lines which we cleaned and cleared. My concern also is that Mr [redacted] and a another friend of his have added inappropriate ratings and comments on the Facebook page for my company I run an honest company and will stand behind the work our business provides Sincerely submitted, [redacted] Alpha Sewer Service [redacted]

Complaint: [redacted] I am rejecting this response because: This response is completely false The company was contacted to do a job The job cut a water line When I was contacted on Saturday after the line was cut all I was told was it wasn't their fault The only time I was given the number for the son's company was when the guy that cut the line was at my house He gave me the number and said it's the owners son and maybe he could give you a price to fix it At no time was I told he would be coming to inspect the problem That is a completely statement When I talked to [redacted] on the phone on Saturday he could have said something then The only thing he kept repeating is it's not their fault There was never an attempt to steer me to call them as the response stated If he wanted Alpha Plumbing to come inspect it why wouldn't he have called them? Why wouldn't he have set up a time for them to come to look at the problem? He had no problem calling me, if they were going to inspect the problem on behalf of him why wouldn't he have mentioned this or had them call me? You are assuming that the water line was in the same trench as the sewer pipe You don't know this, you are assuming this so it fits your claim of no wrongdoing As stated before this company will not stand behind any damage they cause and will fabricate stories to make it seem like they are trying to resolve the issues As stated before, the only thing I got was two phone calls saying this is not their problem [redacted] has never come to my house to look at the issue himself nor offered any solutions besides it's not his problem The total lack of regard on this even shows when he can't even spell my name right the three times he used it in his response He didn't have a problem when it was written on the check I gave that he cashed Sincerely, [redacted]

My company in good faith completed the work we were asked to do.  The only reasonable and obvious explanation of how we would have cut through a water service line is in fact that the water line had at one point been trenched in and through his sewer lines.  This is also the only reasonable explanation of how it is possible that the cable on our sewer equipment would have cut through his water line since this was the only entry point of our equipment on that date.  I also reiterate that if this is in fact the scenario, I am not responsible for the errors of another person/contractor that allowed a water line at the time of the installation to penetrate and go through the sewer line system. It is never appropriate to have a water line in or near a sewer line.  If so, it becomes a health hazard in such that if the sewer line becomes broken or damaged, the sewer can enter and contaminate the water source.Mr. [redacted] has stated several times that I did not attempt to inspect or repair the issue at hand.I did attempt to provide a follow up to the issue immediately when I referred Mr. [redacted] to contact Alpha Plumbing to set up an inspection.  This is a normal procedure that my company follows since that is our resource when issues arise whether it is in my daily work or the conditions of the work needed is beyond the scope and capabilities of my equipment.  Alpha Plumbing is a licensed plumbing contractor and provides plumbing and excavating services on more severe and involved plumbing issues.  My company, Alpha Sewer Service, is set up and equipped to provide services for clogged/back-up lines that can quickly be remedied with the cable/rooter equipment.  When conditions are that a larger repair that involves extensive time and even digging is needed, is it our normal business practice to refer a those customers to Alpha Plumbing.I immediately attempted to steer Mr. [redacted] to contact Alpha Plumbing.  Alpha Plumbing would have done an inspection of the situation on my behalf.   Mr. [redacted] has not and never did contact Alpha Plumbing and instead proceeded on his own to find a remedy.I am asking for all supporting documentation such as copies of all inspections, estimates and photos that can support what the issue was that was found at the time of their inspections and repairs.  Again I state that Alpha Plumbing was never contacted to arrange for an inspection.

I am writing in response to the complaint above filed by Mr. [redacted].  I apologize for the delay in a response but I only received the complaint/email on March 5, 2018 when it was brought to my attention.  I immediately contacted Mr. [redacted] to discuss the situation but was met...

I am rejecting this response because:  This response is completely false.   The company was contacted to do a job.  The job cut a water line.  When I was contacted on Saturday after the line was cut all I was told was it wasn't their fault.  The only time I was given the number for the son's company was when the guy that cut the line was at my house.  He gave me the number and said it's the owners son and maybe he could give you a price to fix it.  At no time was I told he would be coming to inspect the problem.  That is a completely false statement.  When I talked to [redacted] on the phone on Saturday he could have said something then.  The only thing he kept repeating is it's not their fault.  There was never an attempt to steer me to call them as the response stated.  If he wanted Alpha Plumbing to come inspect it why wouldn't he have called them?  Why wouldn't he have set up a time for them to come to look at the problem?  He had no problem calling me, if they were going to inspect the problem on behalf of him why wouldn't he have mentioned this or had them call me?  You are assuming that the water line was in the same trench as the sewer pipe.  You don't know this, you are assuming this so it fits your claim of no wrongdoing.  As stated before this company will not stand behind any damage they cause and will fabricate stories to make it seem like they are trying to resolve the issues.  As stated before, the only thing I got was two phone calls saying this is not their problem.  [redacted] has never come to my house to look at the issue himself nor offered any solutions besides it's not his problem.    The total lack of regard on this even shows when he can't even spell my name right the three times he used it in his response.  He didn't have a problem when it was written on the check I gave that he cashed.

Complaint: [redacted]
I am rejecting this response because:  When [redacted] called me on the 5th of March regarding this issue the only thing he kept repeating is that it's not his problem and someone else ran the water line through the septic line.  When I stated I dug up the septic line in several spots and there was no water line he kept stating that I need to show him a pictures because I'm wrong.  Am I to dig up the entire septic line now just to take pictures?  If so that will cost even more and he still wouldn't do anything about it.  He in no way sought to resolve this issue when he called me he only wanted to repeat that it's not his fault.  As I stated before, I had water when he got there and 20 minutes later I did not.  The amount I told him the repairs cost me was a low estimated cost.  I had four contractors at my house prior that gave me much more expensive amounts for the repair.  Figuring that I would be paying for the repairs anyway due to the inaction of the company I chose the least expensive route.  At no time did [redacted] ever come to my house check on anything.  He only stated that he talked to his worker.  If he's never seen the location of the damage, how can he assume that what he's telling me is correct.  I had taken a week off work and was without water for a week during this event.  I stand by my complaint, this company was hired to do a job that should have cost me $140 dollars and ended up costing well over $2000.
Sincerely,
[redacted]
