Revdex.com: I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted] , and have determined that the response would not resolve my complaint For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.Alpha Sigma Phi has patently lied and misled you in its replyThe document I signed says I agree to pay the membership fees as described and explained to me by the local chapter, which are entirely different from what Alpha Sigma Phi is now claiming they wereThe document is also only legally binding insomuch as the details are truthful, which they are notI was told that the $would go, at least in part, to the local chapter, and that it served as both local and international fees/duesThis is what I was told (and lied to) at the time (it apparently all went to the national organization)I only recently found out that this is 100% falseHad I known it at the time, I would never have signed the agreementIt is illegal to mislead someone into an agreement with informationAs such, the entire electronic signature is voided, and I'm to receive all the money back and be disassociated completely from Alpha Sigma Phi.They claim that the local chapter explains membership fees prior to initiationThis is the most statement they have madeAside from the explanation I got (explained above), no explanation was givenWhat Alpha Sigma Phi is referring to in their response is merely the appearance of the word "dues" in the minutesThey conveniently ignore the context, but they weren't there themselves anyways to even give input on the contextTo explain the context, one member of the chapter said that those who had yet to pay dues would be contacted to set up a meetingBased off the extremely limited information I had, I thought I had already completed the dues (and had no reason to think otherwise)Furthermore, I was never contacted to set up a meeting or otherwise informed that I was missing somethingAs such, no one gave me any indication that there was other information of which I should have been awareAgain, this is complete misrepresentation by Alpha Sigma Phi to get me to sign something on a pretense. In speaking with my university, I have also learned that a staff member of Alpha Sigma Phi, Matt Wiedo, was supposed to speak with members (like myself) about duesI don't even know who that is and have never met this personI think this is further information that Alpha Sigma Phi knowingly withheld information in order to convince me to falsely sign a document, hoping I would never catch the error and they could just take the money. In summary, Alpha Sigma Phi has consistently and knowingly withheld information from me to wrongly get me to sign something for their own monetary gainIt is much like if an eBay seller put up a picture of the product, and after you received the real thing and realized the lie, the seller refused to refund the money or do anything at allIt's a bait-and-switch tactic that I believe to be illegal and immoralI'm going to get all of the money back because that agreement is void Regards, [redacted]

membership fee of $744.  The Membership Affiliation Form and Acknowledgement also states that he agrees to pay the international and local membership fees as explained to him by the leadership of the chapter or colony.  The chapter explains membership dues prior to the Initiation Ceremony.  The minutes demonstrate that [redacted] was in attendance at the Ceremony.  Alpha Sigma Phi will not be issuing any refunds regarding this matter.

Revdex.com:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that the response would not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.Alpha Sigma Phi has patently lied and misled you in its reply. The document I signed says I agree to pay the membership fees as described and explained to me by the local chapter, which are entirely different from what Alpha Sigma Phi is now claiming they were. The document is also only legally binding insomuch as the details are truthful, which they are not. I was told that the $744 would go, at least in part, to the local chapter, and that it served as both local and international fees/dues. This is what I was told (and lied to) at the time (it apparently all went to the national organization). I only recently found out that this is 100% false. Had I known it at the time, I would never have signed the agreement. It is illegal to mislead someone into an agreement with false information. As such, the entire electronic signature is voided, and I'm to receive all the money back and be disassociated completely from Alpha Sigma Phi.They claim that the local chapter explains membership fees prior to initiation. This is the most false statement they have made. Aside from the false explanation I got (explained above), no explanation was given. What Alpha Sigma Phi is referring to in their response is merely the appearance of the word "dues" in the minutes. They conveniently ignore the context, but they weren't there themselves anyways to even give input on the context. To explain the context, one member of the chapter said that those who had yet to pay dues would be contacted to set up a meeting. Based off the extremely limited false information I had, I thought I had already completed the dues (and had no reason to think otherwise). Furthermore, I was never contacted to set up a meeting or otherwise informed that I was missing something. As such, no one gave me any indication that there was other information of which I should have been aware. Again, this is complete misrepresentation by Alpha Sigma Phi to get me to sign something on a false pretense. In speaking with my university, I have also learned that a staff member of Alpha Sigma Phi, Matt Wiedo, was supposed to speak with members (like myself) about dues. I don't even know who that is and have never met this person. I think this is further information that Alpha Sigma Phi knowingly withheld information in order to convince me to falsely sign a document, hoping I would never catch the error and they could just take the money. In summary, Alpha Sigma Phi has consistently and knowingly withheld information from me to wrongly get me to sign something for their own monetary gain. It is much like if an eBay seller put up a false picture of the product, and after you received the real thing and realized the lie, the seller refused to refund the money or do anything at all. It's a bait-and-switch tactic that I believe to be illegal and immoral. I'm going to get all of the money back because that agreement is void.
Regards,
