I received a call from *** *** (our tenant) in the middle of December with a question
regarding her balance. After giving the balance over the phone, she promptly told me that she had put $cash in the box around the 1st of December. I told her that we had not received it. She politely said that she would call me back. I received a call back from *** *** (who is not my tenant). I explained the situation to him, as I did the previous caller *** ***. He became very pushy and threatened me several times. I explained the simple facts to him. We have received cash payments on the following dates 9/15, 10/and 11/6. He abruptly stopped me and told me that he had personally put it in the mailbox at the beginning of December. He informed me that I should have given him a receipt for his cash payment. I told him that we have other payment options that have a receipt built into them. The only receipt I can give him for cash is if I actually receive it and document it in my system. He, of course, was very unhappy and demanded I correct the situation. I am personally the only one that checks the mail box and records payments. I have owned the facility for years and have never had a client accuse me of stealing their money. He went to the police department to file a report. I believe that the client never put the money in the mailbox. Since this situation, we have also not received the January rent for this unit, so the tenant is months behind on their rent at this point. If the tenant does not pay the balance due, I have no choice but to auction off his unit. In the end, it is unfortunate that the tenant did not choose a form of payment that had a receipt attached. We as a company do not want to be accused of stealing anything. We have a great business record, as you can see with the Revdex.com. This is our first complaint in years. I see no other resolution but the tenant to pay the rent and late fees due in order to get access to their storage unit.

For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.if his cameras were working properly we could view the video tapes of the money drop in the box , I do not like being told I did not put the money in the box as I did personally I will gladly pay January.
