Alpine called trying to schedule an appointment with meI told them I already had someone else do the job since it was over a month and a half since my first contact with themI told them I wanted them a credit of $1,to my credit card since they did not do the jobI am still getting the run aroundSomeone is always suppose to call me back but they never do, so to date they have not credited my account

Review: Copy of my letter to Alpine explaining the problem: [redacted] December **, 2014 Alpine Chimney Sweeps [redacted] You offered a low price for cleaning chimneys and on August **, 2014 you cleaned our chimneys and told my wife that we needed two caps. She gave her approval and you charged us $300 + $25.12 tax for the two. When we started using the fireplace in November we smelled smoke and some smoke was coming into the house. This had never happened before in the 25 years we have been using the fireplace, We called the chimney service we normally use and they came Dec. *. They discovered that the wrong cap type and size was installed on our fireplace chimney, thus causing some smoke to enter the house. I had them clean the chimney and they ordered the correct cap. I called your office ([redacted]) Dec * and explained the problem. I was told someone would contact me (###-###-####). I did not receive a call and called again Dec [redacted].. I was told to call your direct line (###-###-####) and speak with [redacted] or [redacted]. I called that number Dec [redacted] and was always forwarded to leave a message, which I did twice. Apparently you do not intend to call me and rectify this problem. So far the incorrect cap has cost me $172 for the service and re-cleaning of the fireplace chimney. There will be additional costs when the new cap arrives and is installed. Also, I do not beleive either of the two caps needed to be replaced. They low balled the chimney cleaning price to get the job so that they could sell us the caps, weather we needed them or not.Desired Settlement: Refund-Credit Card Credit

Review: Purchased a Chimney cleaning with 12-point inspection through [redacted] in early October

Made multiple calls to get scheduled. All calls went to voicemail, only one was ever returned

on 10/** was finally spoke with a 'live person'. She said they were working on the schedule for the [redacted] and would call me later that day. She never did

Called 10/** again asking for a call back to schedule. No call back

Called 10/** and spoke with another person. She said I was one of many to call and complain that voicemails were not returned and she apologized saying she never got the voicemails and there must be an issue with her line

She scheduled my cleaning for 11/** between 2pm and 5pm

On 11/** I waited at the house all afternoon. I tried calling at 5:00 to see if someone was still coming. I got a message the office was closed.

No one ever showed up on the [redacted]

I called on the [redacted] and received voicemail. I indicated my issue that no one showed up Saturday and asked for a call back that day. No one called

This is the [redacted] and no one has called me back.Desired Settlement: I want a refund of the amount I paid - $35

Review: Alpine Chimney Sweep came to update our chimney liner last year. We are currently working to upgrade our boiler from fuel to gas and the building inspector said that the liner used by Alpine Chimney was not to code, the cap on the chimney was not correct and a permit was not filed. We tried calling Alpine Chimney but no one is calling us back. None of the work they did is up to code.Desired Settlement: We want them to come and fix the job: get a building permit for the chimney, replace the liner to a proper one and fix any other issues that are not conform with the town requirement.

Review: June *, 2014: Alpine Chimney Sweeps cleaners recommended a new chimney lining system.

We wrote a check for chimney cleaning ($63.35 including tax) plus deposit of $641 for new lining system. Total check: $704.35. The work was scheduled for June *.

June *, 2014: Telephoned to put work on hold; Alpine agreed. (Check had already been cashed.)

June *, 2014: Telephoned to cancel work; Alpine agreed. Requested refund of deposit. Alpine agreed.

June ** (approximately): Inquired by phone about refund. Alpine personnel said: "I thought I saw your check being written this morning. I'll be sure it goes out today."

Approximately once per week through June **, left phone messages requesting refund.

July *: Sent certified letter requesting refund. Delivery 7/** confirmed at USPS Web site.

July **: Left phone message requesting refund, and advised we would notify Revdex.com.Desired Settlement: Refund of deposit of $641.00 for work order that was canceled by consumer.

Review: On April [redacted] 2015 I put a $751.80 deposit down to have my chimney wrapped with wire and stucco and heard from them once. I leave voice mails and would get any call backs. The emails below are from this morning and [redacted] did not call[redacted]The job will be completed this week. The chimney has already been wrapped with wire. We will complete the stucco this week. I will have [redacted] call you today to schedule Regards[redacted] 7:31 AM (10 hours ago) The chimney has not been wrapped with wire. Review: On 10/**/15 a technician came to my home and said I needed a liner to my boiler flue and one to my hot water heater. The total job was $3,500 of which I gave them a $1,400 deposit which was put on my credit card. They said someone would call me to schedule the installation. No one did so I called 11/** and was told someone would return my call within 24 hours. No one did. I called 11/**, 11/** & 11/** where I only got their voicemail. The last call I stated I was seeking a full refund of my deposit.Desired Settlement: Full refund of $1,400

Review: I hired Alpine Chimney Sweeps on October **, 2014 to perform the service of cleaning the chimney in my home. After they performed the service, I felt that the job they had done was a very poor job. However, I decided to pay them anyway because of the distance they had traveled and gave them a check the same day in the amount of $64.00.

On Monday, November *, 2014 I contacted the office to see if the check was deposited & I asked if the check could be held until Friday, November *, 2014. I was told by [redacted] that she would contact me if the check had already been deposited. I never received a call back from [redacted] so I was optimistic that my request had been obliged.

On Thursday, November *, 2014 I checked my account and realized that I had been charged a $29.00 insufficient fund fee, which I took full responsibility for even though I never received the call back from [redacted] at the Alpine Chimney Sweeps Company, which would have given me an opportunity to get the funds into my account from my sister. I contacted the company at that point and told [redacted] that I would send in a money order to replace the bounced check in the amount of $64.00, which I did. To my shock and surprise I was blown away when I discovered that not only did this company cash the money order but the original bounced check was also re-deposited. Why would this company do this to me?

Immediately I contacted the company again and spoke with [redacted] regarding this tragedy. [redacted] stated she had informed the accounting department and the main office of our previous discussions and she had no idea why they would have put my check through again. [redacted] told me she would have the main office contact me regarding the issue. I never received a call nor have I been able to talk with anyone other than [redacted] from the company. I have called the company number at least one to two times a week and usually talk with [redacted] when the phone doesn't go into voicemail, and she has been telling me the main office keeps telling her they have sent the money back out to me.

To this day, January *, 2015 I have yet to receive my funds or any initiated contact from the company.Desired Settlement: This issue is a nuisance and has been going on for too long. At this point I would like a full refund for both the check and the money order in the total of $168.00.
