Damages are billed back to residents based on actual charges incurred to return the apartment to a rent ready conditionUnfortunately, this apartment was left with smoke damage amongst other markings and damage requiring a full paint and carpet replacementUpon move in with pets, we do require a
$per pet fee as allowing pets to reside within the community does create additional costs in regards to upkeep and landscapeThis fee is non-refundable and does not apply to any damage/cleaning charges and is outlined in your contractual agreement as suchWe are happy to send over photos of the damages in the apartment, along with the damage/cleaning charge list signed upon move inPlease let us know if you have any further questions or concerns
Smoke damage is not always visible and seeps into the walls and flooring causing an unpleasant odor to those that do not smoke. Unfortunately, because of this we had no other option than to fully paint and re-carpet the unit. As I had previously mentioned, the pet deposit is completely outlined in the lease agreement signed by the resident so I am not entirely sure at what point this was misunderstood.
Complaint: [redacted]
I am rejecting this response because:
PPictures were taken prior to moving out and their was no smoke damage done to the apartment at no time. As far as landscape is concerned the dog park that they have is littered with feces from other people's pets and people who do not reside in the complex also use that park and many of the dogs in the complex are unable to use this park because of this issue. We were lied to prior to moving in about the deposit and since we have small dogs the only damage incurred was mud from rain and snow nothing more
Sincerely,
[redacted]
