Review: This letter is in response to the failure of Amadeus Builders to fulfill a contract written and agreed upon between [redacted] of [redacted], and [redacted] and [redacted] of Amadeus Builders. Amadeus Builders had agreed to refinish my garage into studio space for my business, [redacted].I was given a bid of $13,517.09 and have paid $8.543.00.A. FLOOR AMADEU BUILDERS LACKED KNOWLEDGE OF STATE BUILDING CODES. Amadeus put a wooden floor on my garage, which is against code. I was shut down and had to spend money to have it corrected.B. IMPROPER INSTALLATION OF ELECTRIC. Spent $1,750 to correct problems caused by Amadeus Building.C. PERMIT PROCESS WITH TOWN OF MAPLEWOOD WAS INCORRECT. He stated on the permit application that my job was $30,500, when, in fact, our contract was $13,517.09. Thus I had to pay double the permit fee, along with an increase in my taxes.D. DRYWALL AND INSULATION NOT COMPLETED. Due to improper installation of electric, most drywall had to be torn down by another company.WORK NOT COMPLETED:1.Barn Doors not built or installed.2.Dry wall and insulation has not been fully purchased and reinstalled.3.Trusses have not been completed.4.Indoor and outdoor lighting has not been installed. Along with extra plugs and light switches.5.French doors and side lights not purchased or installed.6.AC installation and framing not done.7.Gutters not purchased or installed.8.No Shingling and painting outside of garage.9.No trim molding done.[redacted] was sick and then went on vacation, which caused a huge delay in the development of my business. I was told to "find another contractor." Upon return, he would not contact me and has simply disappeared.Desired Settlement: I have calculated that they owe me $5,834.71
