Al's Custom Painting

Review: [redacted] was contracted to paint my rental and the contract clearly stated that it was to be painted with a Satin paint for the majority of the house. He used a Flat paint to paint the house and refused to repaint, this was clearly his mistake. Using a flat paint does not work well in my rentals. Flat paint may only last 6mo - 1yr whereas a satin or eggshell would be washable and would wear much longer 5yr -6yr.

Also very little prep work was done, resulting in a poor quality job and not what I wanted. He refuses to repaint even though he admits his mistake. And he has threatened to sue me because I have not paid him for the balance on our contract. I have paid him $1000 at the start, which I feel maybe should be refunded if I now need to hire someone else to do the job over correctly.Desired Settlement: Finish the job or immediately refund my original payment.
