We hired Jeff to do a complete roof and gutter installation.During the roof ripoff and installation on 4/5/18 the crew got tar all over brand new 8 month old vinyl siding. When we noticed tar all over around the entire house my husband called and left a message with Jeff explaining there was tar all over the siding and to call him back. We never received a call. When I came home from work on 4/9/18 I noticed some of the low tar spots were gone and now the siding has orange stains in multiple spots. Somebody from his company came without authorization and attempted to remove the tar with a chemical that in turn caused more damage to the vinyl siding. I emailed Jeff with pictures explaining that they damaged new siding. He never responded. My husband went on the roof to check it out and noticed defects with the new roof and gutter installation, including ripped shingles, holes in the roof, lack of caulking and ineffective installation method of ice and water shield. The gutters are compromising flashing causing rain water diversion into the structure. We called Jeff and he came out saying he would fix the roof and gutters however give him a number to settle on the siding. We emailed Jeff saying that we don’t want him back and requested the $10700 we paid him because he ruined our siding and the jobs we hired him for had issues. He never responded but instead sent us a final bill requesting payment in 5 days along with a note stating he would fix the roof and gutter issue and pay to have the siding cleaned/repaired. I paid the bill so we wouldn’t be put into collections but left a note stating work was not completed. We called him multiple times and he never returned our call. Jeff emailed me weeks later saying he wanted to meet. We met on 4/30 and he said he would have the siding cleaned and make repairs. We told him you can’t clean the stained vinyl and we don’t want him back and requested a full refund. He left and we never heard from him. We got a check for $1000
I offered to do the minor gutter and roof repair.
I offered to pay in full for siding repairs and cleaning by any contractor of there choosing

I am rejecting this response because:
Due to lack of quality in workmanship we do not want you or your crew returning to fix anything. We want compensation to repair roof, gutters and siding ourselves. Since we are the contractors that did the siding we are requesting payment of $6000 to cover the cost of damaged materials and labor.

I still offer as I did from the beginning , to pay for siding repairs and cleaning by any licensed contractor of there choosing.

As stated before we are the siding contractors as listed on the permit we pulled with the town. The $6000 we want will cover our material damaged. Don’t forget that not only is there tar still on brand new siding, but we have ripped screens from roofing material hitting them, and faded stains throughout the siding due to a chemical you put on the vinyl and were not authorized to do so. Those orange spots we pointed out to you have now turned white and faded the color of the siding. There are so many more discolored pieces than originally thought as now time has passed and the sun and that chemical clearly don’t mix on vinyl. We have been Very patient with you and want the $6000 and to put an end to this.

They specifically told me from the beginning they have no intention on repair/cleaning
the siding and wanted $10,000. I already sent a check 3 month ago for $ 1000. if good faith.
I am still willing to pay a independent licences contractor to do the minor repairs and cleaning .
I have no problem writing a check to that contractor OR supply house for materials
A *** Skylight was installed by Jeff Alte Roofing in September 2017. *** supplied us with the installer's name, saying he was an authorized installer; his name was the only one provided by *** who serviced our area. In March 2018, leaks around the skylight were observed in the ceiling around the skylight. *** was contacted to come out and review the situation. *** sent a representative to the house who verified the leak. *** contacted Jeff Alte at the end of March about what he observed, and asked him to come out and correct the leak. Jeff Alte said he would contact us and correct the problem. When we did not receive a call, we contacted Jeff Alte ourselves. To date we have not received a call from Jeff Alte. *** believes the leak is an installation issue. The complainant requests the installer correct the leak. In addition, sheet rock in the ceiling needs to be repaired and painted.
This is my response. The *** Tech called me on 3/28 that he was called in that there was a leak.He said everything looked good and it looked like a old stain. The Senior Sales Rep was there on 4/16, that morning we had a 3 inch heavy rain,there was no evidence of a leak.. The warranty is from

Jeff Alte has still done NOTHING in regards to this complaint.

I am rejecting this response because:
While the window itself is warranted by the manufacturer, the leak was NOT through the window.
The leak was outside the window on the ceiling where there had NEVER been a leak before the skylight was replaced.
As the INSTALLER of the window, Jeff Alte should have answered multiple phone calls from the customer or come to the customer's house at least once (the manufacturer came out multiple times, and they in turn, had requested Jeff Alte visit our house with them) to inspect his installation to ensure it had been done correctly. As a professional, Jeff Alte has shown absolutely no regard for the customer or his work.
The issue is NOT resolved. We need to continue to continue to monitor the area for future leakage.

Today I wrote the following to Jeff A along with a photo of a damaged ceiling caused by clogged gutters:
Hi Jeff. Here is new evidence of damage from our clogged gutter. As a 20 year customer, including having you replace our entire roof, I was very disappointed that you dismissed my complaint about the reason why our gutters were not cleaned out this season. To reiterate, your men arrived at our house, saw that most of the trees near our roof had not dropped their leaves, and ASKED ME IF THEY SHOULD COME BACK. I agreed because it made sense. Then, no one ever came back or called. That is exactly what happened. Now I will be incurring expenses that were completely avoidable. I am, therefore, appealing to your sense of fairness to respond in good faith. Whatever you can offer would be appreciated.
We clean many gutters every year,the men do not go to the home and ask do they want it done ? He wanted to wait,I did not charge him for the last minute cancellation . By the time he called back the gutters were frozen.

I am rejecting this response because: Mr. A is not being truthful. His service man suggested that I wait until the leaves dropped from the trees near the roof. In good faith I accepted his recommendation and was told they would come back at a later date. After using Mr. A’s services for 20 years, I had no reason to distrust his representative. Unfortunately my good faith went unrewarded.
