Review: I took in two jackets to be altered and no price list was given or payment method mentioned. When I arrived to pick up my jacket, I was hit with a $5000 charge, cash or check only. I asked for a price list and she did not have one, and I asked why she did not disclose the cash or check and she pulled out a sign from the back of the counter for me to read. This is highway robbery, if I want my jackets I will have to pay the $50.00 more than what I paid for the jackets? This information would have been key so I could have made a informed choice.Mirjana GavricDesired Settlement: I would like to pay a fair price for the alterations and for the owner to have a price list hanging in the shop with payment options, so that someone else does not get swindled.

Response:
When taking measurement for a fitting, I always tell customer the price, as well as put the price down on the claim check. The client could have refused service when the fitting was done, when I have already placed the price on the claim check. She also had a chance to refuse the service the entire week before the tailoring was done. I have no problem with that--we do not charge for fittings. She had two line jackets for which the sleeves had to be shortened on both of them. Each jacket cost $25.00 to have alterations done. It's a very fair price , and we have kept the sane prices for at least 15 years. We have a visible sign on the counter that says "Cash or Check Only" that has been in the same place for 17 years; and all of my clients can attest to this. I was professional and nice to her. She had brought a man with her when she came to pick up the jackets, a man I had never seen before, who started yelling at me. Despite this, I was still polite and professional with them. From my best knowledge, I handled the situation well and I belyeve it is nonsense on their part.
