Review: Another "interesting" day....Get a call from alterations shop that was altering a vest for the wedding, saying the vest is done. She said she needed the person to come in to make sure it fits. I explained that would not be possible for he is out of town working until the wedding, that we are fine with it and feel sure after their measurements that it will be fine. She got very upset and kept going round and round that nothing leaves her shop without a final fit. I tried to get her to understand that was just not possible and we went round and round for several minutes. She then said, "Well, then just come pick it up. It will be 75.00. I said, " 75.00?!" then, asked how much would it normally be and she said around 50.00. I then said, " So, you are jacking the price up, because you are mad he cant come in?" She said, " I didnt say that, you did". After work I go in to pick up the vest, the young man at the counter ( her grandson) gets the vest, I pull out my checkbook and hear a voice say, " Cash only". The young man and I both say, huh? at the same time. I turn around and there she is. I said," this sign right here ( as I take a picture of her sign on the counter) says checks or cash only." She says weddings are always cash only. I ask where does it say that. She says in all the dressing rooms. So, as my blood pressure was once again rising, I think to myself, should I really do what I want to do, or should I go get cash. If I had more time I would have called the police and made a ruckus, but, as usual I was short on time, so, I went and got the cash, came back, checked over the vest ( which looks fine), paid the young man and apologized to him that he has to have such a "sweet" grandmother, then look at her and tell her, " You know I was really mad about this, but, the more I think about it, I really feel sorry for you. You cant treat people like this and get away with it. This will come back to bite you. You are a miserable old lady and I just feel sorry for you". She told me to take my pity somewhere else. I said I will. I will be taking it to the Revdex.com and to anyone that will listen. I came home and Jeremy pulled up a site that showed several other complaints about this woman and her alteration shop. One complaint states she chased someone out the door. I will try to post it for anyone that is interested. Bottom line: BEWARE of POLLY's ALTERATIONS on S. Stratford Rd.Desired Settlement: Partial refund.....$25.00 + 3.50 ATM fee that I had to use to withdrawal "CASH" since she would not accept my check though her sign on the counter states is acceptable.
