My daughters sandbox was damaged during the work being performed at *** Additional pieces of roofing material found in yard.
A roof was being replaced at *** When I arrived home after the roofing was completed I found that my daughters sand box which is located in my yard between the houses was covered in fiberglass and pieces of shingles. I attempted to reach out on 09-19 and no answer to the number on the sign they left in the yard. I made multiple attempts on 09-20 and on 09-21 but phone rings and then goes to a voicemail with no name or message. I have found additional pieces of roofing material in the grass between the houses and two nails that I removed. The yard around *** Was covered but items between the properties were not covered.This has created an unsafe area for my child to play and now the entire contents of the sandbox need to be replaced and the various toys have to be washed and sanitized to get the fiber glass pieces out.
I want to given the money needed to replace the sand (six bags) and be compensated for the time it will take me to empty and dispose of the contents of sandbox. This issue wouldn't have occurred if they had covered the sandbox before beginning work.
We apologize for any inconvenience caused by our roofing crew. We were unaware of any debris going into the neighbors yard at the time the roof was being installed. Once we were made aware of the situation, our residential roofing manager contacted the homeowner, apologized and asked what we could do to correct the situation. The homeowner stated that he wanted the sand replaced. In the original complaint he stated that he wanted 6 bags of sand for the sandbox, and we provided him with 10-12 bags of sand. The next day we removed the old sand and replaced with new sand per the homeowners instructions. Attached are before and after pictures of the sand box.
