I signed up for Alterra after a door-to-door salesman came around I also signed up of my neighbors ALL of us have cancelled (or tried to cancel) our service with this company Their pest control DOES NOT WORK All of us noticed, even after repeated calls to come out, there were spiders, ants, all sorts of pests inside and outside around our houses I don't know what chemicals they are using, but I know it does not work AT ALL After calling to cancel my service in April, they still came out again in June! I called several times and was told I couldnt cancel my service because I had a year agreement After explaining my dissatisfaction with their inability to kill pests at my home and my neighbors homes, I thought the issue was resolved and I would not be charged the final payment of $ Now I am receiving an overdue bill saying I owe that + daily interest late fees! I have called and spoken to them numerous times, left messages for managers to call me with promises of return calls - nothing I am now going to try to file a report with the Revdex.com STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY!!!!

I agreed to an annual agreement for quarterly service on 6/20/15, per the agreement they were supposed to make service calls June/July/Oct/Jan/April - they came 7/30/15, 9/14/15, 2/26/(so much for quarterly) June 23, they sent me an email for a service call 7/6/- I called and sent a letter 6/23/advising not to come to my home, they did not meet their annual agreement and I was cancelling my agreement and I'd hired another company (didn't hear from them since 2/26/16) The customer service rep was overly aggressive, told me that I did not have my services (duh...hence the canceling, the year was up, they fell short on their commitment) and they would charge me, I told her I would not pay, my letter advised not to charge my AmEx They did charge my AmEx, which I've disputed June 29, they sent another email for a service call 7/6, I responded in writing advising my acct was canceled and attached the original cancelation letter The service rep showed up 7/6/2016, my husband got me on the phone, I spoke with the rep and told him to leave or we would contact the police I went to Buckingham Township Police on 7/6/16, they called Alterra and left a message (hard to get anyone to answer the phone), they were advised that they are an "unwanted subject" and they should not show up again and that I have been instructed to call if they return and they will be removed from our property by Buckingham Police Once again, they charged my AmEx, I have disputed the charge and have had a block put on their accountIn addition, I am filing complaints with The Office of the PA Attorney General & Bucks County Dept of Consumer Protection

This company is soliciting and they need to do that to get business. I had the last service scheduled and they didn't show up in May of 2015 to honor the 1 year agreement. Now they are trying to charge me a fee for not getting the last service. I sold the house so I couldn't reschedule. All and all they have horrible service and don't even let you know if they are coming or not and then cause problems when it is the last one just to get the extra fees.

I was solicited by a knock on the door for pest control and moving into a new rental property with dogs I wanted to be sure that we could control the flea and tick problem as well as remove any unwanted pests. I signed up for one years service approximately April 2015, it was payment on a quarterly basis with the contractor coming out quarterly and providing full service. This was including indoor and outdoor services throughout the winter, spring, summer and fall. Removal of all pests, cobb webs, yard treatment, spray and an inspection quarterly to ensure the service is effective. They technician showed up for the 1st service and was not happy to be there, it seemed as if he was frustrated and did not want to perform the services. He sprayed the outside, walked through the middle floor in our home and sprayed the deck. Once he completed the spraying he stated he was not going to do the inside the home for some reason and he left. I thought to myself I do not think this is going to worth it but I only have 3 more services. The other 3 services I have no knowledge whether they performed the services in the contract. They left no email, phone call or a note saying they met the contract. After a year of service I called around March 2016 to verify when my cancellation date was effective. I called several times and left numerous voice mails before I received a return call in which they left voice mails. I finally spoke to a lady and she stated I had 1 more service due and if I cancelled then I would be liable for an early cancellation fee. I asked when the final service going to take place and she said May 2016. I stated we were moving out of our rental property and was not interested in renewing my service. Also, I stated that I wanted to cancel the contract immediately after the May appointment. Well, about a month after May I get a call from the same lady I spoke to prior and she was implying that I still have 1 service and that if I cancel I will be charged an early termination fee. I reminded her that we just had the conversation in March that May was my last service and it was to be cancelled, I was not interested in renewing services with them. She agreed and we ended the conversation with me under the impression everything was closed out! Today 7/27/2016 I get a call from this company stating that I STILL have 1 more service due and that if I cancel I will be charged an early termination fee. This seems like a scam and after reading reviews on Y[redacted] and G[redacted] + I wish I would have never signed a contract with Alterra Pest Controls. I started to get loud with the sales person on the phone and she placed her manager on the phone who immediately started to use bully tactics and claim that in the past they called me and left several messages and I didn't not respond. Which, is not true they only called me after I called them and left multiple messages. It just so happens I work in an environment of construction where I cannot have access to any phones or computers throughout the day. So, for her to insinuate that I was "Dodging" their phone calls was absurd! If you read the reviews on G[redacted] and Y[redacted] the #1 issue mentioned is persons calling in to complain or request services and no one ever answers. I did get upset and have a few unprofessional choice words with the manager with her stating I am talking like a 3rd grader I didn't know how else to talk to them? In the past and more recently I was very professional and understanding and they did not understand, maybe the only way they will understand is by talking to them in that manner? I ended up hanging up on her because her inability to listen and understand. Telling me if I cancel the payment through my bank I will still be liable for the amount. I felt like she was trying to force another sale and didn't care that my issue needed to be resolved. Reading about it, they seem to do this to a lot of people. Maybe this is their Business Model to try and keep customers? What can I do to file a better claim? This was very unprofessional and the company as a whole is very poor in customer service and management resolution, if your business model is to continually hound customer to feel obligated into making a decision to use your company maybe you should revise your model or hirer people who can handle these types of situations. I would like to know what I can do to ensure that they do not charge me for 5 to 6 services when I only wanted a years worth which is 4 services. Thanks

No customer service at all. Emailed 3 times and called 4 times over 2 weeks. no one got back to me. Needless to say, I cancelled the service.
