Buyer Beware!! We moved all of our accounts to this bank after being disillusioned by Chase Bank Everything was great - until we were transferred out of Phoenix I was going to maintain the checking and loan accounts and handle transactions through online banking My husband had a self-directed IRA that we decided to move closer to our current residence He completed the paperwork on a Friday to have the money wired to a local bank He called the following Wednesday and was told that the "manager didn't approve the wire transfer" There was no reason given for this [redacted] stated that the check Should have been mailed Tuesday to our local bank, but since it wasn't, she would mail it that day Fast forward one week later It is late on Wednesday and the check is nowhere to be found My husband called our local bank to see if maybe they are holding funds, but they haven't received anything He then called Altier to get a tracking number What he got instead was a description of the envelope - it's in a white envelope We're not talking about a small sum of money here Apparently Altier will risk having someone else's money being lost in the mail For me, this is a "bank" that shouldn't be trusted with other people's money I have now changed all of our automatic debit accounts and redirected all direct deposits As soon as I am confident that all transactions have cleared, I will be closing all accounts In the meantime, we'll continue to wait for the mail truck

I checked with our Lending Department and we have no record of receiving a loan application under the name “[redacted].”  If the loan application was submitted under her husband’s name,...

we’ll need his name to search for the loan documents.  If the Revdex.com requires a more formal response, please advise.  Thank you for your assistance.[redacted]Director of Administration, Facilities & TrainingAltier Credit Union

I believe we were clear in our previous statement that the loan officer calculated the debt to income ratio based on the applicant's gross income.  Unless the applicant has a new dispute, we now consider this matter closed.

In response to [redacted]'s statements regarding the denial of her swimming pool loan application by loan officer, [redacted], the loan application was reviewed by the mortgage loan manager and her findings are noted below:

Income for [redacted]'s loan was calculated by using a letter provided by [redacted] and pay check stubs from [redacted].  The combined monthly income was noted as $6,274.00 from these sources.  The debt calculation was determined from an [redacted] credit report.  Total debt (including the new loan payment of $291 for the swimming pool) was $3,295.00.  Debts divided by income equal 53%.  As you can see from the calculation, gross income was used to calculate the debt ratio.  Based on [redacted] high debt ratio, the loan was denied.  It is our hope that the information provided will clear up any misunderstanding or questions that Mr. and Mrs. [redacted] may have regarding their loan application denial.

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed and the application was submitted under [redacted] as I am now married.

Regards,

from my understanding monthly income should be imputed as income before taxes not after. If that is the case monthly income is being calculated after deductions. Per [redacted] when using debt to income calculator advices it would be income prior to deductions. Please clarify.

Review: In living my desire to build a pool I went through california pools to design a pool on my home. They referred me to apply for financing through one of the banks that service their financing needs in this case was Altier Credit Union. I submitted my application and within financing requirements they had Debt to Income guidelines not above 40%. when I calculated my gross income along with my spouses and the monthly recurring expenses it came out to roughly 38-39%. This credit Union, not sure how they do their math said I was at 53%. Not sure how they do their math but they ultimately denied me for the pool financing loan. From my understanding they are suppose to use Gross income not Net Income when calculating DTI. I would like for this to be known as the representative [redacted] was who advised me this and I would like for them to give me a breakdown on how they came about with the 53% DTI.Desired Settlement: I want them to review their calculations and explain to me how DTI was 53% if DTI has to do with gross income and not NEt incme as when I did my calculations I was at 39% DTI. If it was their error they need to fix my application for me to fulfill financing

I was contacted by a very rude associate of Altier Credit Union claiming that my payment was over 30 days late, that Altier had not received my last two payments, and that they were required to place insurance on my vehicle because they received notification that my policy had cancelled. I explained to this associate that the payments are on automatic payment and have been deducted from my account, even showing as the check was cleared. I also told her that we changed policies for insurance and that she should have been informed of the new policy. She was extremely rude. I asked to speak with her supervisor in which she told me they were out of the office for the next two weeks. After hours of waiting on hold and working with the bank and the insurance companies, it was found that the two checks had cleared and were never late; I was current on my payment to Altier. They had also been informed of the insurance policy changes and had not updated their own systems. They need to get their act together and hire some folks that are more competent and more customer service oriented. They are displaying very negative debt collecting habits. If I were actually late on my payment, I can see why folks would be disturbed by their debt collection tactics. This was a massive waste of my time and I have never been treated so rudely by a customer service organization. I do have everything documented in email. This is not a company I would want to do business with if I wasn't already locked in to a loan with them.
