You may want to reconsider using Altman's. They were recommended to me and after checking their ratings online I decided to give them my business. [redacted] actually made it by the very day I called and told me the problem with my unit was that it needed cleaned - and charged nearly $200 to clean it. I asked him if that didn't fix the unit what would be the next thing to try - would it be refrigerant? But was pleased when he told me that if lighting didn't strike we should be just fine.
The next morning the unit was no longer working and I called back and they sent [redacted] out. He told me that [redacted] had informed him the night before that our unit was 20 years old and shot. He had no answer for why [redacted] told me it was in good shape and him that it was not. After he checked the system he said in fact it needed refrigerant - but that meant there was a leak and it would cost nearly $200 to check for the leek + whatever it took to fix the leak then $60 per pound for the replacement refrigeran
