I sent a preliminary quote to Mrs [redacted] on 10/ She let me know that she was still getting other quotes I stated that was fine and let me know when she decided I did not look at the quote again until we had an appointment to finalize the order At that time I looked at it and realized I had made a horrible error in the calculation The correct price should have been $ It was an error on my part and I take ownership for that I immediately called her to let her know as to not waste any more of her time It was not intentional on my part to mislead her and if it was a few hundred dollars I would have been able to proceed with the order Unfortunately, I cannot proceed with the order when there is that much of a discrepancy I spoke to an attorney only because Mrs [redacted] said she considered it a legally binding document On the email there were no details listed of the project; not the materials, rooms to be covered, nothing about if demo/haul away was included - minimal details whatsoever It said “laminate - $installed” I could have let her come to the showroom and made up some excuse to not take her order, but I was honest and said I had made a mistake No money exchanged hands and no documents were signed and feel I am within my rights to not procee

I still believe as a business owner you should always do what is rightI feel an email that has been quoted as a preliminary quote is as good as a regular quote I wasn't offered anything from this company except I'm sorryI did receive any other offers to make up for a mistakeWe all make mistakes in life, but it's how professional we handle themI think going forward as a business owner you should do the right thingMe filing with Revdex.com is to let others know, it's not correct to treat customers this way I'm very disappointed in this company and they should take some sort of responsibility for their mistake

I sent a preliminary quote to Mrs*** on 10/17. She let me know that she was still getting other quotes. I stated that was fine and let me know when she decided. I did not look at the quote again until
we had an appointment to finalize the order. At that time I looked at it and realized I had made a horrible error in the calculation. The correct price should have been $7534.00. It was an error on my part and I take ownership for that. I immediately called her to let her know as to not waste any more of her time. It was not intentional on my part to mislead her and if it was a few hundred dollars I would have been able to proceed with the order. Unfortunately, I cannot proceed with the order when there is that much of a discrepancy. I spoke to an attorney only because Mrs*** said she considered it a legally binding document. In the last 10 years we have only received one complaint and we were able to resolve it to the customer’s satisfaction.  That doesn’t happen unless you are taking care of your customers.  In this case however, I don’t know that I am able to satisfy the customer.  Their request is simply not feasible.  What is disheartening is that a consumer would knowingly want a small business to lose money.

I still believe as a business owner you should always do what is right. I feel an email that has been quoted as a preliminary quote is as good as a regular quote.  I wasn't offered anything from this company except I'm sorry. I did receive any other offers to make up for a mistake. We all make mistakes in life, but it's how professional we handle them. I think going forward as a business owner you should do the right thing. Me filing with Revdex.com is to let others  know, it's not correct to treat customers this way.  I'm very disappointed in this company and they should take some sort of responsibility for their mistake
