Aluma Outdoor Designs Reviews (%countItem)

In June 2019, I hired Aluma Outdoor Designs to replace my pergola. They eventually took down the old pergola but has yet to install the new pergola.
On June 20, 2019, I contracted with Aluma Outdoor Designs to replace my wooden pergola with an aluminum pergola. I gave a check to a *** for $2750.00 for a 50% down payment. Work was to begin in 3 days. I received no communication from Aluma in that 3 day span. I contacted Aluma and spoke with a *** and a ***, the owner. The constant excuse was always that the workers ran long on other jobs. *** told me his guys would be out to take down my wooden pergola on Sept. 16, 2019. I took off from work and no one from Aluma showed up nor called me. On Sept. 17, 2010, two workers, *** and ***, showed up un-announced at my residence to take down my wooden pergola, which they did. *** is the son of ***. *** is a cousin of ***. Aluma advised that I needed to get my precast columns repaired or replaced. Aluma said they had a guy that does precast columns but every time I called Aluma and spoke to ***, there was always the excuse that he could not get in touch with the precast guy. Aluma never initiated communicated with me at any point of this project. I eventually had my precast columns replaced by another company.
In February 2020, I contacted Aluma and spoke with *** about having my aluminum pergolas installed. We set dates for February 10 and 11, 2020 for Aluma to arrive and install my new aluminum pergola. Of course, Aluma was a no-show with no phone call to me. I called Aluma and expressed my displeasure about their unprofessional practices. *** told me that the workers were running behind on other jobs and that they would arrive at my residence on February 12 and 13, 2020 to install my new aluminum pergola. Of course, Aluma was again a no-show with no phone call to me.
On February 18, 2020, I called Aluma and left a message with a ***, who said *** was out at a job site and would call me back that same day or the next morning. I did not get a call back from *** on this day.
On Feb. 19, 2020, I called for *** and *** told me *** was in the warehouse and that she would have him call me. Of course, *** has not called me back on this day either.
On this same date, I went to www.myfloridalicense.com and entered ***'s real name of *** Lazaro *** and discovered that the General Contractor's License (CGCXXXXXXX) has been revoked since August 31, 2014. A very long list of complaints exists for *** with Florida's Department of Business and Professional Regulation. A representative at the Florida's Department of Business and Professional Regulation advised me that *** (***) should not be conducting general contracting work after August 31, 2014. Aluma Outdoor Designs is therefore conducting unlicensed business activities in the State of Florida.

Desired Outcome

I wish to be refunded the $2750.00 down payment I paid to Aluma Outdoor Designs as they in 8 months have not honored the contract I have with them.

(The consumer indicated he/she ACCEPTED the response from the business.)
On Friday, February 28, 2020, I received a call from Aluma Outdoor Designs asking if it was okay for installers to arrive at my home to install my new pergola. I agreed and 10 minutes later, the installers arrived. They installed all pieces except three. I was told they would return on Monday, March 2, 2020 to install the remaining three pieces.
On March 2, 2020, when the installers were a no-show at my home, I called and spoke to the owner, ***, about a host of things, including no communication from his company to his customers, his company's shady dealings, a discount that should be taken off the balance owed due to his company's ineptness, etc. I was told by *** that the other three pieces were not in stock and would have to be ordered. *** said if the three pieces came in on Wed., March 4, 2020, the installers would arrive at my home to install them then.
On March 4, 2020, I received a call from Aluma Outdoor Designs stating that the installers were on their way to my home to install the remaining three pieces to my new pergola. The installers did arrive and installed the remaining three pieces. Now, *** continually called me about collecting the balance owed, now that the job was completed. *** and I agreed to a $750 discount on the balance owed. I reviewed the work done by the installers and found that on four of the beams, screws were missing that would securely fasten the upper beams to the base beam via brackets. I took pictures and sent them to *** and stated the problem.
On March 6, 2020, the installers arrived back at my home to put screws in the brackets that they had missed initially.
I received additional phone calls from *** and I told him how interesting it is that he can NOW call me numerous times to collect the balance owed to him, when I could not get call-backs from him since June 2019 when I signed a contract with his company for a new pergola!!! On this same day, *** sent an employee (family member) to my home to pick up a check in the amount of $2000.00 for the balance owed.
The pergola looks very nice!!! It is just that the business, Aluma Outdoor Designs is a disaster!!! I do not recommend anyone use them!!!
Thanks to the Revdex.com, Aluma Outdoor Designs finally responded and finished the job in March 2020 job, which was a 2-day job that went to contract in June 2019!!!
This case is now RESOLVED!!!

Aluma Outdoor Designs, Inc. has breach the contract we signed. We are requesting full refund within a week or we will sue Aluma Outdoor Designs, Inc.
On October 19, 2019, we signed a contract with Aluma Outdoor Designs, Inc. for a patio roof for my mother's house. We gave a $4,345.00 deposit to the sales rep., Ms. ***, for this job, which they cashed on October 22, 2019. The contract stated that the roof will be installed within 6 weeks, approximately on December 7, 2019. As agreed with Aluma, we removed the existing roof the week before the installation to prepare for the new roof. Aluma never showed up on the agreed day or called to offer an explanation. We have called them every week since for a new installation date. Their reply is always the same, "This Friday, for sure". However, they had never showed up. Always the same story, they are running behind at the previous job site and we will be next. Today was no different, Mr. ***, the owner, promised me that the crew will be at my mothers house, but the same excuse was offered when I called because they never showed. Again, they are running late... IT HAS BEEN 13 WEEKS since we paid Aluma for this job. My mothers patio furniture is ruined for being exposed to the elements for two months. We have received only lies from this company, its owner and sales representatives.

Desired Outcome

At this point, I have nothing else to say, other than we expect our full refund within a week or we will proceed legally against Aluma Outdoor Designs Inc., its owner and sales representatives.

Customer Response • Jan 21, 2020

Dear Ms.
The job has finally started Friday afternoon, after I placed the complaint. It has not been completed, yet. However I wanted to give an update.
Sincerely

Failure to repair patio enclosure roof leaks.
On 08-18-2019, I signed a contract with Aluma Outdoor Designs to complete construction on an outside patio at my residence (City Permit was Obtained). The construction was completed on 12-20-2018. Upon the completion of the structure a section of the structure's roof started leaking from the very first rain storm.

I immediately notified Alum Outdoor Designs of the situation and the company sent a repair person to fix the leaking roof with negative results. Alum Outdoor Designs sent a different repair person (s) on two more separate occasion with negative results.

Since that time frame I have been contacting Alum Outdoor Designs about this situation and their answer to me was that they are going to sent someone to repair the leaky roof (No one ever showed up) or that they are short handed of personnel to send.

I have been struggling with this leaky roof situation for a year now and I think that I have been patient enough with Alum Outdoor Designs since paying them $14,050.00 (by Credit Card and Check) when the structure was completed.

Desired Outcome

I would like Alum Outdoor Designs to repair the section of the patio's leaky roof at no charge and within 30 days. If this situation is not resolved in a timely manner I would consult an attorney to bring a civil lawsuit for the full amount of the purchase $14,050.00, along with attorney's fees.

Aluma Outdoor Designs Response • Jan 14, 2020

Good Morning, as *** stated, we have made several attempts to fix the remaining leaks in his patio cover. Unfortunately, as he also stated, the results were not completely satisfactory, but we have every intention to fix the remaining leaks in his patio cover. We will have a representative out to the *** residence within the next 10 business days to finally correct the remaining leaks.

Customer Response • Jan 15, 2020

(The consumer indicated he/she ACCEPTED the response from the business.)
I accept Aluma Outdoor Designs response as long as the company follows through to have their representative out to my residence within the next 10 business days to finally correct the remaining leaks.

Horrible workmanship. Newly installed patio roof has more leaks than the original 20 year old roof. I've been calling every week for over 16 weeks.
Purchased: 07/14/19
Salesperson: Simone Bellmas
Payment amount: $3,000
Payment method: personal check
Discovered 2 leaks and major gaps in work immediately after installation. They came out, fixed and I paid remainder of balance - $1,500.
After which 3 more leaks developed. I've set 12 appointments in last 12 weeks and they've failed to show up each of 12 appointments.
I have videos, photos, phone records & emails to prove. my original 20 year old roof was much better.

Desired Outcome

I'm fully convinced the materials used were used and damaged. I want a full refund plus damages for water damage.

Aluma Outdoor Designs Response • Jan 14, 2020

Good Morning, Our apologies for the delayed reply. Unfortunately, we have have not been able to make it out to the *** project to fix the remaining leaks, but we have every intention to fix them so they can enjoy their patio cover. I can assure you all the materials we new and unused, directly from our distributor. We will have the issue resolved within the next 10 business days.

Unfinished installation, promise to complete has been unworthy.
We The Homeowners has made several contacts to Aluma Outdoor Designs from 11/27/19 until present 12/9/19 informing of noticeable unfinished installation. Off Mgr. *** has made continuous promises of having the job completed, which has been unworthy. I try not to believe the negative reviews I've read but the run around I am getting is leaving me to believe. All we want is have the installation fully completed. I am sure if they had not been fully paid they would have been back. A screw is loose from the bottom frame and the right upper outer frame not fully installed completely.

Desired Outcome

Completion of installation.

Customer Response • Dec 27, 2019

Aluma Outdoor business came out to residence and took care of matter. I am awaiting for them to take care of another matter that needs repairing of leakes. They advised me it would be taken care of upon the return of business reopen after holidays.

Since the first day of the installation the Pergola is full of leakages. My husband reported the issue in another Case and the case was closed
From a Previus case Mr. *** owner of Aluma promissed to be in our house day after day to repair our pergola roof leakages. INstead he left the pergola even worse with all pieces in the floor. we have been calling him on the daily basis for the last two months and Mr. *** only continues to make promisses. He lies evethough the reality is that currently is been force out their current office since he hasn't paid the rent for more than 8 month.

Desired Outcome

I already have provided Mr. every opportunity to fix the problem without any good results. I would like a retribution of US$3850 (three Thousand eight Hundred and fifty Dollars) so I can hire a company to fix is wrong doing. I would like to recommend Mr. to paid this amount instead of engaging in a legal, civil and personal battle. Soon I will be retiring and I can guarantee that nothing will be worse that having me with a lot of free time. I hope that Mr. *** is smart enough to understand that is nothing more terrible than a retired looking into his screwed Pergola.

AlUMA Outdoor Design plays with your deposit $$. They promise a start date and then they give you the round-round. They're not a serious company.
The salesman for ALUMA *** came across as a serious man. Once they have your $$, they use it to buy materials for other jobs and give you excuses that they're running behind on schedule todo yours. The Manager *** you a start date to calm you down, send you a couple of guys and only setup a couple of pieces and puts you back on the wait list again. They're NOT a serious company. I've attached a copy of the contract with requested start date.

Desired Outcome

To finish what they've started on a timely fashion so that we can go about our business and have to sit and wait for them every day thinking they're coming.

Aluma Outdoor Designs Response • Sep 27, 2019

Mr *** is our customer, and he is correct is saying we had several delays, but im not sure why he thinks his money went anywhere but to our company for his job. His job although small was very custom and detailed. We are happy to say that his project was completed, Tuesday 9/24, the customer seemed happy and paid their balance in full. We have attached a picture of the finished product

to me
Hi ***

Please close the above mentioned complaint. The merchant finally came around and finished the job.

Thank you for all your support

My Pergola was installed on Sep 2018, since the installation of the Pergola the roof has been suffering leakeges. No response to get them fix
My Pergola was installed on Sep 2018. At October 2018 I called several times to fix the leakages, although they came I chased them weeks to have them come. As rainy season started again in July 2019, I have been traying to get someone from this company to fix the leakages; Talked to the owner, sales representative, Customer support and after almost four weeks nobody has returned my calls or making any appointments. Since I am tiring of begging while I have explained directly to the owner the situation. I just want to make sure that people searching for reference of this company understand this is not a good choice. Please go away do not fail into their false advertising. I will be following this matter legally. I challenge *** to reply to this review. As I don't have any debts. Even their own employees told me that they have their hands tight as the owner does not pay any attention to these matters. As I see the reviews of this company I am very upset with myself by choosing this type of company that in the end are only looking for naive people to fail into their false advertising.

Desired Outcome

If they don't finish the job that I paid at full a year ago meaning no leakeges or any problems of any sort. I will make sure thru the media, HOA's, legal instances and this type of organization that they don't practice their business anymore so no other people fail for this kind of company. I have seen the owners replied on this type of messages. I challenge him to reply to me and others as in my case I have no debts, or any pendings with him on the contrary I have all the emaisl, communications, chats, text to suppor this and most important my contract. I might be choosing to pursuit this legally, and advertise this in many other matters.

We are working on resolving the issue for Mr ***.
We should have him satisfied in the next 3 days weather permitting

Customer Response • Aug 09, 2019

(The consumer indicated he/she ACCEPTED the response from the business.)
*** is correct. I will be closing this case and updating my others reviews once the work on the leakage is finish. During the process of resolution *** and his team has been very professional and Polite. He has provided me a series of alternatives to resolve the problem. *** himself has been in top of things. I believe that ALUMMA is providing me with the level of resolution that I expect. I will be closing this case and expect that they complete the work that they started.

Owed refund money back for months on work they could not complete per contract. Will not address and they keep hiding.
Contracted for Patio Covering and Outdoor kitchen totaling $18,000. Once permits were submitted and approved I was assured work would begin on a Monday and take no longer than 7 days to complete. They did not start for weeks, and then left the job after installing footers for about 2 months. Excuse after excuse and literally had to BEG him to come back and finish. Job FINALLY finished, just to find out it leaks in every single seam and provides NO actual protection as warranty/guarantee promises.

Because of literally MONTHS and MONTHS of delay they agreed (via email) to back out of the "outdoor kitchen" portion of the job and refund me the difference ($2,500 difference I overpaid for kitchen deposit).

Again via email they agreed to amount and refund is due... Nothing for weeks again. Finally got him back on the phone on 6/21 and he confirmed again (via email dated 6/21)

"Sorry I did not mean not to respond, your refund is approved and being processed. You will get it next week. I will also immediately send a crew to re-seal your cover. Please do not hesitate to call me directly (XXX-XXX-XXXX) if you have any additional questions or concerns. "

It's been 4 weeks and STILL do not have refund check and is dodging my calls once again. Today I just received a letter in the mail from a concrete company about a lien on my property from non-payment from Aluma.

These guys are crooks, floating money from job to job and putting out a garbage product that should not pass code in any way shape or form.

ALl correspondence was with owner

Desired Outcome

1) Check for over-payment as they agreed to in the amount of $2,500. 2) Send someone back to address the leaks and water coming in from every seam in the roof. At this point I just want my money back, I'll fix the leaks myself because I don't want anyone from this company stepping foot onto my property.

Aluma Outdoor Designs Response • Aug 16, 2019

contracted Aluma Outdoor Designs to install a patio cover and an outdoor kitchen, their were delays some created by Mr *** but the patio cover project was completed and Mr *** cancelled the outdoor kitchen, under our contract we were not obligated to refund anything to him but did it anyways. Mr *** received a complete refund and we hope he is enjoying his patio cover. I have attached a copy of our contract, along with the building permit and proof of refund. please feel free to contact us if you have any additional questions. In speaking to other contractors that have worked for him, he seems to have problems with most of them. I do not want to have any additional issues with Mr *** but should we have any more I will be happy to meet with him again personally

BEWARE OF THIS COMPANY DO NOUT USE!

I contracted them on October 20, 2018 to install a pergola on my house, I paid them $6,200 and $1,950 as a deposit. That evening my wife did some research and we decided based on the negative reviews this is not the company we want to do business with. The next morning I called them and told them to cancel my order and they agreed to issue me a refund. As of January 8, 2019 I have yet to receive a refund. I have been told every excuse possible as to why they have been unable to process it but today I finally decided they would refund me or I am filing suit. I called their office and after being thoroughly screened I was finally able to talk to ***, he stated they screen their calls because they receive a lot of sales calls. I asked him why I had not received my refund since October of 2018 even though he had promised numerous times I would have it in the next few days after each time we communicated. He stated they did not have the money to refund me at this time, I said thats great you used my money and now will not give it back. He stated that the credit card processor they used was paypal and they did not have enough funds to refund me to give him a week or so to get money in that account. I told him absolutely not and I expected a check today to be couriered to my office which he agreed, that was at 12:30 pm. At 3:30 PM I called again since I had not received a check and he stated he was on his way personally. At 5 PM he called to make sure I was still there, at 5:30 PM he sends me a screenshot that he is refunding me the money via paypal which clearly shows he does not have funds to cover the refund. I told him I wanted the check today and he said "sorry I cannot give you the check with no funds to cover it."

Luckily this is all thoroughly documented and I will file suit tomorrow and they will pay for all legal fees.

BEWARE AND GO ELSEWHERE!

Aluma Outdoor Designs Response • Jan 16, 2019

Mr *** is a person who placed an order with us and shortly after placed a second order with our company giving us two credit card deposits. He then cancelled his contract with us. We acknowledged his cancellation and started the process for his refund.
He could have filed a dispute with his credit card company for a refund at anytime but chose to ask for the funds in cash or a check.
Mr *** has been refunded 100% of his deposit via a credit card refund.
In our opinion this is not a valid complaint because Mr *** is not our customer. His engagement with our company cost us to lose several hundreds of dollars. Our estimators time , several visits to his home, credit card fees that we can not recover, administrative cost that were incurred due to his actions. I have attached a copy of his full refund. No suit has been filed by Mr ***, and had he taken us to court I think he would be the one paying for our expenses incurred on his behalf

Customer Response • Jan 16, 2019

Mr. is completely out of integrity.

On 10/29/18 he stated via email I would have my refund the next day.

On 12/20/18 he stated via email the person that knew how to do the refund was out of the office but would return next week and do it.

On 12/21/18 he sent me an email and stated there was confusion with my refund and the amount to be returned but it was all clear now and he would make sure it was processed.

On 12/27/18 I requested a status update of my refund which he ignrored.

On 1/1/19 I emaiied askin for a status which he ignored.

On 1/8/19 I finally got him on the phone and he stated he was sorry he receives a lot of sales calls, at this point he stated he was sorry but they did not have the funds in their paypal account and I had to wait until they sold something me. I told him that was not acceptable and he better bring a check to my office by the end of business day to which he agreed. At 4 PM that same day I called him and he said he was sorry and was personally leaving now to bring it. At 5 pm he called to make sure I was still in my office which I confirmed, at 5:18 pm he sends me a screenshot of his paypal account showing he initiated a refund yet it clearly shows he does not have the funds to cover it. This is the SAME person who said he did not know how to do a refund by email. I called him and he said that was the best he could since he could not give me a check with no funds to cover it.

This guys is something else, BEWARE and go elsewhere!

Aluma Outdoor Designs Response • Jan 18, 2019

Dear ***, we are completely surprised and offended by this review. We are flabbergasted you would write a review and speak on the quality of our company when you have not experienced our work. We never did any work for you but spent tons of time and money doing estimates and ordering materials for your first AND second orders. We have a refund/cancellation policy that is very clear, but we went out of the way to try to provide you with a refund that's outside of that policy process and against my accountants wishes even though the relationship was not profitable and actually caused us to lose money. Regardless, to our experience, even with our partners, no other major company would go outside of their refund policy to attempt to personally deliver you a check to your office and your entitlement to that is perplexing. Once we got confirmation from our accountant that your refund was processed we confirmed refund with you and sent you documentation. We are confused on why you still expected us to come to your office, if the funds were now in process to be back in your account; which we have proof off along with proof of your agreement to our policy which would then give you no basis for a lawsuit. We are beyond offended you took advantage of our kindness in attempt to accommodate you personally, only to leave us a nasty review when your refund was proceeds and received. We apologize members of our staff took vacation time during the federal holiday's and your refund experienced a delay. Take care.

Customer Response • Jan 24, 2019

Every other word that comes from you is a complete lie! I wish I could upload your emails and texts and voice mail to this website, that would put everything to rest. You fail to mention and confirm how you personally told me you could not give me a refund because you had "already used my money and did not have any money at the time to refund to me", I was shocked by your admission and finally knew why you were stalling me for months. At that point I told you I wanted a check the same day forget about the credit card refund and you stated you would bring me one. Then you called later that day and stated you had spoken to your paypal rep to let you give me a refund even though it would overdraw your account and you sent me a screen shot showing the refund and the overdrawn account. As a business owner I would never go toe to toe with a client like you are here and continure your barrage of lies.

Your best bet is to apologize for the horribel experience created by your company, apologive for not giving me a refund for almost 3 months and offering and stating that you have learned from this experience so that it will never happen to a future client!!

We are currently working with Mrs *** to resolve her 3 issues.
One of the issues which was the leaking has already been addressed, on thursday 10/4 of this upcoming week we are sending are granite guy to address the crack in the granite. After we are finished we will complete the permit process.
Its really a shame that with such a beautiful job and all the extra effort and expense we put into pleasing Mrs *** that we were not able to make her happy, but we will continue to try

Customer Response • Oct 03, 2018

(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
Aluma Outdoor design did send workers to seal the roof. I am independently contracting someone to test for leaks. This is necessary since one of my $250.00 fans was damaged. I don't want to incur my personal cost of fixing/replacing the fan only to discover that the leak is still present.
As of October, 3rd, 2018, the other two issues have not been resolved. No one has come by to fix or replace the marble. The inspection has not been finalized.
Yes indeed the job was beautiful, but that is to be expected for a project that cost me almost $60,000.

We had a Representative come out about a year ago to give us an estimate. We had some things come up and the timing just wasn't right. in December I got a follow up call from Joe if we were still interested and the timing couldn't have been perfect. Milie came out the following day and we proceeded. Work began a couple weeks later and everything went fairly smooth ( a little hiccup with the city but that was to be expected ) . We had fans a lights installed and have been enjoying almost every night since. Would gladly recommend even allowed a neighbor in our community to view ours and they are in the process of installation.

We had just had our pool refinished and were looking to add an outdoor kitchen and patio cover. My brother in law had his done by Aluma a few years ago and was very happy so I looked them up and gave them a call. That evening a Representative showed and work began a couple weeks later. We are very happy and would highly recommend.

We hired Aluma Outdoor to complete an outdoor alumnimum patio cover/outdoor kitchen, we have not heard from the owner in weeks and job is unfinished.
We signed contract on 4/21/2017 for patio cover, outdoor kitchen, and tile floor. We were given a verbal estimate of 12 weeks completion with permitting and work. We ran into several hiccups with securing a permit, which was understood and fully supported from our side, but they officially secured permit on July 20th and didn't hesitate to come get our next payment. Work started a few days after, with workers showing up 1-2 times a week and then not arriving for a few days, with zero warnings, calls, or updates. We consistently contacted them in regards to when people would come to work but it was evident they were overwhelmed with numerous projects. Every time we reached out to them, the owner *** could never give us concrete details as to when things would be completed or when workers would show up. He multiple times blamed the delays of the project on us stating that we consistently bothered them, and would make changes out of the blue. Our changes were corrections of poor workmanship on project and directions not being followed per the drawings and lack of communication between *** and the workers. We would leave all paperwork and drawings outside for the workers to make sure they understand since *** has not once stepped foot on our property to actually oversee any work that is being done. Of the work that has been completed it is of low quality and we have had to spend time fixing the poor workmanship ourselves. The way *** has handled our project has been extremely unprofessional. It is now 12/10/17 and we still have several jobs pending. We have not heard from aluma outdoors since 11/21/17 which was a phone call we made to them in regards to status of final inspection and completing of pending jobs. That conversation resulted in an argument where *** again blamed us for the delays in the project and told us we didn't understand how the business worked, and could not tell us when final inspection would be or when anyone will show up to work at house. We reached out again via text on 12/1 but have not heard Back from them . We have failed inspection twice for roof due to wrong measurements on drawings. We are more than doubled the expected time of completion, have had an unusable outdoor space for almost 8 months now, and see no end in sight as no one has contacted us with any updates or information.

Desired Outcome

We are asking that Aluma outdoors delivers on what we signed up for. We want them to contact us with permit/ final inspection updates, close the permits as it has now been over a month since we failed the previous inspection, so that we can complete pending jobs with a contractor who is willing to work with us on completing the project in a timely and respectful manner.

Company installed two aluminum overhangs at my home. One overhang retains water and leaks. Company ignoring repair requests.
In September the above company completed the installation of (2) aluminum overhangs at my home, which I originally signed a contract for on 7/13/17. On September 9th, I noticed issues with one of the two overhangs leaking. When I went onto the roof, I found that water was pooling on top of the overhang due to the decorative end cap being to high, not allowing the water to properly run off. Additionally, the sealant tape on one of the seams was improperly installed, which was evidenced by water leaking along the length of the seam. Also, the bolts attaching the aluminum roof to the support beam were rusting along the entire length of the overhang since they were not coated like the bolts on my properly functioning overhang was. Finally, I found leaking along the edge where the overhang meets the fascia board. I have emailed and called the company on the following occasions:

9/09/17-Initial notification with photographs of issue

09/14/17-Followed up on their response email(sent to me on 9/14) that they would be in touch with me for repairs

10/5/17-Inquiring about a repair date since I had not received anything back since 9/14. (They responded back on 10/09 advising they would send someone out by the end of the week, but no one ever showed up and I never received any notice of why).

10/22/17-Inquiring on an estimate date for repairs and providing additional information on the leaks. (received response on 10/23 stating they were "behind" and would call me as soon as possible).

11/6/17- Requested information since I had still not received follow-up or phone call on repair estimate date.

11/13/17 - Called business and spoke with receptionist. Advised they were still "behind" and I was on "the list" for repairs. Was advised she would reach out to find a tentative date and call me back. As on 11/21/17 no follow-up has been received.

My complaint is that despite waiting over two months since the initial notification of issues with the overhang, no attempts have been made by the company to attempt repairs and despite numerous insistences that repairs will be done and that they will contact me, no contacts have been made and no date ranges applied for repairs.

Desired Outcome

I request the company return and conduct the proper repairs to stop the leaks, fix the pooling issue on the overhang, and replace the rusting bolts.

The aluminum roof that was installed has leaks and company has not fixed. Additionally, job was not completed as agreed to on contract.
On August 26, 2017, we entered into a contract with uma via their salesperson, ***, for installation of a roof for our patio. The job was "completed" on or about October 16, 2017. Since then we have been in contact with ***, the owner, due to leaks and a missing gutter mesh. They came out one time and resolved a few small leaks but the major leak is not yet resolved and the gutter mesh has not yet been placed. Everyone we speak to at the company tells us it will be resolved and that they will be out in a few days but I have to keep calling. This roof was expensive ($17,000.00) and paid in full without any delay. Additionally, after they advised us that the leaks had been taken care of we installed a television and when it rained again, the television got wet and damaged. It now only works sporadically. I am not at all happy with the quality of the finished product and certainly not with the customer service.

Desired Outcome

I expect this problem to be fixed and, in fact, had advised them that we needed this fixed prior to Thanksgiving since we are having family over and if it rains do not want them being inconvenienced. Additionally, in light of how expensive this product was and the issues we are having, it would be nice if they replaced the television which is not properly working.

(The consumer indicated he/she ACCEPTED the response from the business.)
The company finally came out and, although we had to be persistent and unfortunately file this complaint, the work was completed and fixed appropriately. We are happy with our roof and enjoying same. If their customer service had been better I would use them for another project and recommend them.

Signed a contract and paid installment on Jul 31st. No word on when they will start installation despite of repetitive attempts for an answer.
On Jul 31st I signed an agreement with Aluma for the construction of a gazebo on my property. I also included 1st payment. Up until today 10/18 no news on when the work would start despite of several attempts via email. I think they have a serious problem in organizing their shop. They have kept my money (2,400) for almost 3 months, and despite of the fact that residents in Florida had to deal with Irma, I think 3 months is more than enough to get a confirmation about the installation date. Their sales rep *** has been helpful but I think that it is out of her hands now. I need a reply back from the owner *** otherwise I will request reimbursement.

Desired Outcome

I need them to start and finish the job they were hired for 3 months ago asap.

On July 31st 2017 we entered into a contract with Mr *** for the installation of a patio cover at his home located at *** FL XXXXX.

Their is a permitting process that must be followed and can not be avoided. This process sometimes can take longer than our customers would like but unfortunately it is out of our hands and in the hands of the City of Weston building dept.
This process was prolonged due to " not legible survey " provided by the home owner which caused almost a one month delay. The following is the time line of steps taken by Aluma Outdoor Designs to obtain permit:

July 31st contract signed
Home owners association package prepared and given to customer to submit to HOA

August 2nd office mailed out permit applications to
homeowner

August 5th drawings submitted to engineer

August 10th plans in from engineer
applications still not returned from
customer

August 15th received application signed from
customer

August 21th permit and plans submitted to City of
Weston

August 29th denied by the City of Weston zoning
department for survey provided not
legible

August 30th asked customer for new survey

September 5th picked up new survey from customer

Unfortunately Hurricane Irma affected our operations, both at our facility and our personel

September 25th new survey re submitted

September 30th Home owners association approval
received

October 6th permit approved by City of weston

October 9th permit picked up by Aluma from Weston

October 10th materials ordered (even though second
payment was due from customer and
customer refused to pay)

October 20th work commenced at Mr ***'s home

I will be including supporting documents including contract
permit
first survey given
HOA approval
order for materials

I do not feel that our customer was justified in submitting this complaint. We have done everything in order and in a timely fashion considering the circumstances. The 2 delays were due to the survey and Irma.

Customer Response

(The consumer indicated he/she ACCEPTED the response from the business.)
While I believe timeline may not be accurate Aluma has indeed started working by digging a couple of holes (that was Friday, on Monday at noon no worker from Aluma has shown up). During the communication process they could have been more proactive in letting us know the status instead of prolonged silence with no replies. I want a scheduled list of tasks (project plan) with accurate deadlines, like all building projects should have. Aluma can call me to schedule the pick up for the second check as my "refusal" obeyed the fact that no shown progress was made. When they pick up the check I expect to have the project plan ready.
Thanks.

Aluma Outdoor Designs was hired to add a patio to my home. the permit has expired without a final inspection. they won't finish job.
I hired Alum Outdoor Design on on 6/1/2016. I signed a contract with them and gave them 1/3 down for a deposit. The permit was pulled by the contractor on or about 8/11/2016 for the job. The framing part of the job was completed and passed inspection on 9/1/2016. The job was completed on or about 9/10/2016 and they called for a final inspection. The final inspection failed on 9/12/2016 for not performing the job per detail of the plans. The owner *** has repeatedly told me he needed to meet with the inspector on the job site to straighten out the issues. This has been over a year ago! Dozens of phone calls and left messages and false promises of it's " it's on top of ***'s desk" it's going to be taken care of. He won't return my repeated phone calls, who does business like this? I was lucky to talk to him ONE time, and it was only because he happened to answer the phone! The permit has now expired on 9/25/2016. After the Hurricane my roof has developed severe leaks and I need a new roof. But the roofer CAN'T pull a permit because of the expired UNFINISHED job left by Alum Outdoor Design. I am left in limbo and at the mercy of this company who just doesn't seem to care that one, they didn't do the job right that they were hired to do. They can't pass the final inspection. They just continue to ignore me everyday!

Desired Outcome

Plain and simple, finish the job that they started and make a final payment adjustment to amend the lack of progress. Over a year and this company can't or won't finish what they started.

Customer is absolutely right about permit having expired without final. Although the customer has not made attempts to contact us till now. We told Mr *** we would renew permit. Customer also has a $3300 balance that is unpaid.
We did recently renew his permit, allowing him to obtain his roofing permit and we our moving forward to close the building permit for his patio cover.
We will contact customer to coordinate inspection and work if needed

Customer Response

(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
Yes there is a balance on my account, ONLY due to the fact that the job is NOT completed without a "pass" on the final inspection. That was the agreement by both parties prior to the start of the job. This job was finished on 9/10/2016, OVER A YEAR ago. Not one effort has been made on their part to have the job reinspected or fix the issues due to inspection failure! That's over a year ago. It took over a dozen phone calls to the office, WITHOUT not one call returned and over 3 weeks for a return phone call. It wasn't until this complaint was filed that there was any action to reopen my permit. My roof has been leaking and I couldn't pull a roofing permit because of the unfinished work/ failed inspection and expired permit. Three weeks of being ignored has now resulted in even more damage to the ceilings in my house. Now let's see how long it takes the company to repair this job and ready it for inspection now. I'm guessing I will continued to be ignored! There is just NO sense of ownership to complete this job on their part, and until then what home owner in their right mind would make a final payment??? Not that I have ever been asked to make one, so don't make this sound like you won't finish the job due to non payment. They got 2/3 of the money for the job. So I met my contractual obligation!

roof is leaking, not keeping promise to fix it

Roof was stasrted around april
finished quickly but leaking since first two months.
Multiple calls by me to try to get service, they only respond when I threatend to sue.
Roof still leaking, after " fix", and
fascia is destroyed.
They try to blame me for the gutters which they agreed to design that way and actually cut it off without my consent.
Roof is still leaking

Desired Outcome

they need to refund part of the payment since they cannot fix the issue so that I can contact an actual roofer to seal it

To whom it may concern,
Mrs *** did hire us to install a patio cover on her home on Feb 8th 2017, we completed her project on March 6th 2017. Mrs *** had our crew return to her home a few additional times to make sure everything was exactly the way she wanted before paying, which was fine with us. We want our customers to be happy before they pay in full.
Our records show that Mrs *** called our office to complain on July 31st, 2017. I personally visited her home and tried to find the problem in order to correct it. It rained that day after we left, not giving the sealent enough time to dry. Our crew was out again the following week again to seal the roof and again it rained shortly after finishing the re-seal causing the same outcome.
As you know its a difficult time of the year as it has rained pretty much everyday since the first week of August. We have every intentions of resolving this matter for Mrs *** regardless of what it takes. We will be contacting Mrs *** to schedule the service call for the week of Sept 5th and will have the problem resolved by Sept the 9th to Mrs ***'s satisfaction

Customer Response

I do not understand with a complaint has been closed. Do you want to promise to rectify the situation and *** said that he would be out to repair it. However in spite of many calls to the company and their promises that they would create a solution, they have failed to repair the problem. I need this resolved it's an ongoing complaint without resolution since the roof has been installed

aluminum roof installed
Had aluminum roof installed a few months ago, ha leaked within the first rainfall from installed, owner sends crew to repair but it keeps leaking more each time it rains, last conversation with "owner" was about 3 weeks ago telling me he will send a roofer to fix problem- no roofer has shown up- today's conversation was same thing and no timetable as to when it will get fixed, meanwhile I have several objects getting ruined due to leaking roof and sometimes it take me several attempts for "owner" to even answer my phone

Desired Outcome

I either need my roof to be repaired correctly or my money back

Aluma Outdoor Designs Response

I was aware of the issues that *** was experiencing, after the installation of his new patio cover by Aluma Outdoor Designs.
We had previously made an attempt to repair, but we were unsuccessful. I had personally communicated directly several times with ***, he would call or text me on my cell phone. We discussed the repair, and I explained to him that because the inclement weather we were having it was impossible to send a crew to reseal the top of the patio cover. He obviously grew inpatient and submitted this complaint.
I called *** on Friday 7/28 and scheduled a meeting at his home to evaluate the situation.
We meant at his home on Saturday 7/29 and agreed on a plan, to remove and modify the patio cover.
I informed *** that we would be back to his home on Monday 7/31 to remove the patio cover and make some alterations to try to eliminate the leaks.
On Monday our crew showed up, removed the entire patio cover, made the modifications we had agreed upon and we re-installed the patio cover with the much needed corrections. It took our crew two days.
We have also scheduled a roofer to add some additional flashing to prevent any additional problems in the future. I am pretty sure ***'s new patio cover does not leak and the problem has been resolved.
I do not believe we have had a strong rain since the modification to really test it.
I have not heard from *** but I will reach out to him today to ask if he is satisfied

Customer Response

After they came and removed roof and "re sealed", roof still leaks when it rains, they said a roofer will install flashings and I have not heard of any roofer coming to my house; it's been a week since last" repair" and I'm seriously considering legal matter because this issue has been going in for 8 months and I have pictures and videos of every time it has leaked- I text *** this morning and he has not answered

Aluma Outdoor Designs Response • Jul 16, 2018

To whom it may concern, Although we did not contact you at the time, we hired a roofer to address the connection between our new patio cover and the customer's old roof. The leaks have been resolved and the customer is satisfied.
