We have been trying to work with Alumni Resource Center since March of 2015. They have our money to process consolidation of our daughters school loans and have been promising forms are coming with no results. Now I can't reach them by phone or email. Help!!!! Any advice ? [redacted]

They offered me that if I pay them an amount , they would negotiate with Navient a student loan that I only needed to pay $93.00 a month for 20 months and the rest of the loan would be forgiven. It didn't happen what they offered they only submitted my application for payment and Navient said that they are a government loans and they do not negotiate. So I lost the money I paid to them. I kept calling them leaving messages and responds. And phones disconnected. I just want them to stop taking advantages of people.

Review: I contacted this business in order to consolidate my school loans. An amount of $400.00 was debited out of my account and nothing was ever accomplished. The emails are returned invalid and the phone numbers no longer are working.

Review: I was trying to get my federal loans consolidated and was told that in order to process my loan that have to pay $350 times two months. I sent them $350 September 28th. Since trying to contact them several times without success. Now they do not return my phone calls, some phone number has been disconnected and emails are not returned. The emails actually say they do not exist now.Desired Settlement: I want my money back without screwing up my credit.

Review: August 15 2015 I recieved a card representing ARC I called for more info. The man on the other end of the phone told me for 595. they could consolidate my loans together and no interest would accure and when I was ready to repay it would be for 10 years no interest and if I continued my education in that time it to would be interest free. He told me if I was in school for four more years after signing with them I'd only pay back 6 years. They have not returned my phone calls since nor responded to my email. please help and make other aware of the scamDesired Settlement: I would like a coomplete refund.

Review: The Alumni Resource Center contacted me back in August about changing over my student loans to them and to help consolidate them into income based payments. In September they took out $595.00 out of my account. Then in late October my student loan company [redacted] contacted me and asked about my student loan payments. I informed them that I had changed everything over to the Alumni Resource Center and they stated that it never occurred. I am not looking to have my $595.00 refunded back to me.Desired Settlement: I would like the $595.00 refunded to me.

Review: I entered into an agreement with Alumni Resource Center wherein they were to work with the Department of Education in regard to consolidating my student loan debt. I paid ARC a fee of $645.00 on or around August 15th, 2015 and I have not heard from them since. they do not answer phone calls, nor do they return phone calls, nor have I received any email correspondence since August 3, 2015. I have tried many different numbers I have for this establishment, but no one answers, and no one returns voice mails. I am afraid that I have been scammed.

I had nearly the EXACT experience with this company as the review stated on 7/28/15.

They bad mouthed my current provider ([redacted]) then charged me $695.00 to reduce payments and allow me to move my loan to them.

The thieves then never reached out to my current loan provider to move the loan.

Then wouldn't return my calls or emails either. Total sham.

Review: I received a letter in the mail back in September stating that I was eligible for the student loan forgiveness plan offered through the Alumni Resource Center. I was very hesitant at first but was guaranteed results and that this was not a scam at all. After being told I had to pay and application fee of $595.00 I was again hesitant but then reassured by [redacted] that I this was not a scam and that my money could be refunded to me at anytime if I was not satisfied with the results. I then proceeded with the agreement and paid the money. I received letters from each of the companies I owe my for my loans that the application was received and granted for my loans to be in forbearance. I was reassured at that time that the company was legit because they were doing something. I then called again and asked if this was a scam to ensure I wasn't going to be out any money and was again told this was completely legit. The money was taken from my account on Oct 14th 2015 and I have not been able to get ahold of them since. Each of the numbers I was given and that I can find online are either disconnected or there is a generic voicemail. I have left messages and have not heard back from anyone. The email addresses I have are no longer in service either, I get a failure response each time I send an email. I have contacted the company that the money was removed from who is in contact with ARC and they state they have reached out to the manager and have not heard back from him either.Desired Settlement: I would like a refund of the $595.00 that was taken from me.

Review: I entered into an agreement with Alumni Resource Center in July and since then I am unable to get in touch with them. They will not return phone calls or return emails. I would just like a refund of the 595 dollars and zero cents that was taken out of my bank account. Thank youDesired Settlement: I would just like my money returned.

Review: On April 2, 2015, I signed a contract to consolidate my student loans with this company. I paid $595 and was promised a reduction in payments and interest rate. I submitted all of my personal information that included everything from proof of income to personal expense amounts. Months later I contacted them and was told they were still working on the transfer of my loan and it would not be much longer. Time went on and again I was told the same thing. The last time I tried to reach them I left voice mails and received no returned call. The website said they were not accepting any new clients and gave a bogus email address and phone number to call. No one has ever responded after numerous attempts. This has caused my loan to accrue $10K in interest and I was scammed out of $595.Desired Settlement: I want to be reimbursed $595.

Review: I originally contacted ARC to enquire about consolidating my loans. At this point I was fine making my current payment of $380 for a 10 year term but wanted to look at all of my options. I was told that I qualify for a income based loan repayment and forgiveness program. After me asking questions on this initial phone call and calling back again a few days later with more questions, my $600 payment was processed. My concern with the income based repayment program was that I was turning my 10 year loan into a 25 year loan. I was told by a supervisor ([redacted]) that if I doubled my monthly payments every month that would cut my term in half. If I tripped my payments for the remainder of my term, my term would be cut into a third. And so on. Basically my minimum payment counted as one increment and how ever many increment payments I made cut down on my months due.

After fact checking with the loan servicer and the department of education, I found out that this is not the case. Increasing your payment does not decrease your term. After I found this out and contacted ARC to point out their false information and to tell them that this plan does not make sense for my situation, they proceeded to basically bait and switch me. They tried to find another plan that I could qualify for. When I told [redacted] supervisor that I wanted a full refund because what was promised and made to believe wasn't actually possible, I was told I could only receive a partial refund because hours have been put into my file. (There aren't enough characters to go into detail my complaint on that process). There was no acknowledgment whatsoever that the information that was given to me was false. Instead it was made out to be my fault because I agreed with the compliance team. It was made to seem that whatever the sales side said didn't matter and only the compliance part did. Sales didn't even know they were wrong until I did my own due diligence.Desired Settlement: First I would like a FULL refund of my upfront cost. Sales needs to be held accountable for compliance piece. This company cannot be able to fully rely on a five-minute conversation with a compliance representative after sales talks with me for over four hours in total convincing me of something false. I would also like an apology from my account representative [redacted] for not being available to answer my questions. I would like an apology from [redacted] admitting that he gave me false information, even though I don't believe he knew it was false.

Review: I went into an agreement with Alumni Resource Center to work with the Department of Education and my student loan company [redacted] to lower and reduce my student loan debt. I paid this company almost $700 dollars for their services. I have heard nothing from them since the first week in October. I have tried to contact them at several different email addresses and phone numbers and I get no response and no one answers the phone numbers.Desired Settlement: I not only want a refund of my money, but I also want them to pay me back all of the late fees and interest I now owe to [redacted] since I thought this company was working for me and clearly they were not.

They fell of the face of the earth. I'm not able to get in touch with anyone. I put in an compliant. They claim to cut down your student loans by a lot and use fasle advertisements. Also you do not need to pay someone to consolidate your loans, its supposed to be free through the dept of education. Avoid these scammers, they are dishonest

Review: They have my money and did not do there job I would like to get my money backDesired Settlement: I would like my money back

Review: Alumni Resource Center (ARC) sent me information offering to work on our behalf for consolidating our student loans to a payment that would be reasonable for our budget. We had complications working with our current loan provider and wanted to have a reasonable payment that we could handle for the rest of the duration of the loan (like our other student loans). ARC promised that they would be able to handle this, took our basic info (yearly income), and estimated a loan payment that their "loan experts" would be able to achieve based on better knowledge of the laws regarding student loans. This was first supposed to be completed within 3 months. It wasn't and we started getting angry letters from our current lender requesting payment. We called our lender up, and settled a reasonable arrangement. I then called up ARC, demanded our money back and told them that their services were no longer needed as they did not provide the services that they promised. I was given some ridiculous excuses, but I thought that it was over. Jump ahead another couple months and we see an alert pop up on our credit report saying that my wife's address had changed. We contacted our loan provider (who changed the address on our credit report) only to find that not only was the loan company still trying to process a consolidation, but they were changing our address, claiming that both my wife and I had no income (pretty sure that it is fraud to lie about income to the government), forged our signatures on electronic documents to the loan company, and, after looking back through my account, never refunded our money.Desired Settlement: I want ARC to cease "representing me" and filling out documentation on me and my wife's behalf. I have corrected the information with our Credit Report and with our Student loan company. I would also like to have the money that was listed as "100% money back guarantee" returned to me.
