I hired MrAlvarez June 18th, to extend a patio, stain and add a fire pit to my backyardHe was enthusiastic and ready to get started right away, that weekThe first issue I had was that the frame for the slab did not extend all the way under my faucet as we had discussed and indicated on the paperworkWhen I asked him about it he said it was because my sprinkler pump was under ground below the faucetI let it go, but later after some research this statement was a lieMy sprinkler water pump was way on the other side of the yard He just did not want to redo the frame workThe next process was to have the slab pouredThere were delays due to his excuses that went fromwaiting on the concrete people to come/confirm, to telling me the wrong day, to him having to go out of town, and a few othersI finally sent him a text that I was done we needed to part ways and I wanted a full refundHowever, only after that text was sent to him was my slab pouredThe slab looked great no complaints there, but I later notice that he or a member of his crew pulled off the metal top on my water hose so now nothing can be connected to it Now was to have the patio stainedI was promised several times I would be provided color samples to look at, but I never saw or received them Then again for this process, appointments were made by him where he failed to show up or canceled, and at times without notification unless I reached out to him asking where he wasIt seemed as though I was always the one to have contact him as to why he was not at the scheduled appointmentHe is not always very good at responding to phone calls or textWhat should have been a project that was completed in a few weeks has turned into months and nowhere near completionThis has been a very irritating processAfter the most recent appointment that MrAlvarez failed to show up to without letting me know I sent him a text firing him and letting him know I wanted a partial refundHe did not reply to my text or phone callI informed him in another text and an attempted phone call I would be filing a claim with small claims court and reporting him to the Revdex.com, if we did not have a resolution by an indicated date and timeA few days later I came home to a note and a check of ¼ of the amount of money I asked forSo my advice is do not hire this person he is very unorganized, unreliable, has a lot of excuses, does not communicate well and makes promises he doesn’t follow through on

I hired Alvarez to put down in cement a barrier to prevent high water, and to lay gravel rock on an area to also prevent water from entering my back door. The man never performed as he stated he would and lied about all aspects of the operation. Only when he would leave his workers was I able to get done what I wanted. When he would return we would argue about what I had his workers do to meet the agreement we had agreed on. He never returned to finish job and left me hanging. I have recently noted the mortar used to lay brink is now coming apart. This has happened within one month of him laying austin stone. He is a liar and a cheat, but a good salesman. Stay away from Alvarez Construction.
