My check engine light was on, brought my car to Alvey's. Recommended to do the scanning. They came back to me as the power steering pump failure, advicesed to replace. Got the estimate and asked to fix. 2 days after the repair was done the check engine light was up again. My friend did the engine scan and came back as the O2 sensor failure, and at the time I saw oil leak around pump area. Went back to Alvey's, they said the problem was fixed and he also mentioned "I don't know what is wrong with your car, the scanning came back with bunch of failures". [redacted].According to a semi-trailer mechanic, the pump will cost between $280.00-680.00 the most, I was charged $953.48. Also he mentioned if they were replacing the pump, normally the belt would be replaced.I brought my car to the dealer, [redacted], and did the scan again. They came back with more understandable results. They said leaking oil around the pump area might be due to incorrect installation of the pump. Leaking oil made huge damage to the senser, wiring power steering line. I paid $958.21 before tax to repair what Alvey's made damaged on my vehicle with replacing power steering hose, belt and O2 sensor. If there were already leaking oil and sensor was damaged Alvey's could have been informed to me. Note: the night I had scanning from Alvey's I needed to plug my car, they put the plug code in the engine compartment I had opened it and used a touch light to look around, didn't see any leak. [redacted]Desired SettlementRefund for the scanning fee, refund for over charged portion for the pump, covering the cost of what messing up my vehicle with incorrect installation of the steering pump, $958.21 before tax.
