We apologize for any inconvenience we have caused during your recent move from CT to GA, but you booked your move through Budget Van Lines Inc. You were advised repeatedly by our driver about additional items you wanted us to move, that were not included in original estimate you had from Budget Van Lines. During the pick up our driver filled out Revised Estimate, with the new weight of your household goods and the new cost of your move, which you had signed.Your household goods were stored in our company's warehouse since May 5th of 2014, due to not having the required payment amount which was calculated based on the weight of your household goods. As of now, in addition to the amount you owe us for the move, we require additional payment for the amount of $644.00 for two month of storage, ending on July 5th of 2014.We understand your financial difficulties and try to be forthcoming by deducting month of storage charges in amount of $322.00 from your remaining balance. Please contact us ASAP to make a payment and arrange delivery date to avoid any additional charges.Sincerely,Claim DepartmentAlways Affordable Moving & Storage Inc

Review: Move from Fayetteville, NC to Upper Marlboro, MD

1)Given a moving estimatedin email by [redacted] for $3048 to include 30 days of FREE storage.(Direct Line: ###-###-####

and assured there were no 'hidden fees" and storage was free for 30 days. However, when the company [redacted] arrived

they had invoice that included and additional $200 for packing and $700 for storage/delivery and other charges.

I had paid a deposit of 763 prior to movers arriving, then when they arrived [redacted] had a 'revised estimate' he said they gave to give to me printed with a balance of 2,044.39 AND I paid athen $1,145 (tota I have l paid $1,1098 of $3,048) Yet, the emaining blance due is still 2,044.39. it's like holding items hsotage.

2) Also, I contacted Affordable moves on 19 Octrober to attempt to arrange delivery for 25 or 26 October with no response from them.

I sent emails to [redacted] as well as at the companies website. I left many messages to the 800 number as well as the direct line for [redacted]. The one time I spoke with [redacted], Im had to call from a different area code, he said someone would call me that day and I should not call him again. Still no communication from the company. Once I spoke with someone named [redacted] who told me his boss, [redacted] was working my issue. Still no contact., I left my email, hotel number, my managers number as well as my cell for after 16:30. No reply of any type. Then suddenly on 30 October I am called - they want to deliver the next day 31 October at 10 PM at night. ludicrious. Driver stated I would be charged additonal

costs if he could not park close to my Condo or additional steps were involved. All deliberate intimadation methods.Desired Settlement: Furniture should not be held hostage or customers COERCED.

1) Ahdere to original quote, as I shipped much less that the estimate and no items were weighed prior to [redacted] of [redacted] 1 [redacted] giving me "revised estimate". Deliberate deception on their part at crucial point of pickup of items.

2)Also, no additional storage fees should be charged as company was attempting to coerce me in accepting delivery at 10 pm, saying that storage fees would be incurred beginning 1 Nov.

Review: [redacted]

I am rejecting this response because: it is not true. I signed saying the remaining blance BEFORE they started they pickup that amount because the moving compny [redacted] would begin the pickup. Now, they are saying something different. Also, you are not addressing the implied intimadation to me as a Single Female. They show up, with a revised estimate before they will begin the pickup, I actually shipped less than my orignal estimate because I gave lots of furniture and items away. Yet, they walk in with a "'revised estimate" before they will begin the pickup. A legal, honest third party should weigh the shipment and mediate. Next, the company itself Always Affordable in N.J. who I made the arrangements with - ignores ALL my phone calls and emails to attempt schedule a deliver, for over two weeks.

Then suddenly, out of the blue, the day before' additional charges' are due, they call me AT WORK to say ' the driver is in route'. Then

the driver tells me: #1 the balance due is still over $2000, #2 He can only deliver at 10 pm, that's 10 pm - Night, and #3 OBW if he has problems finding a parking space I will owe even more. How was he going to get that payment from me?????

Where does it stop? How much would the driver had said I owed AFTER he arrived late at night? What would make a reasonable person think they were not going to charge even more, and just drop my stuff off and say everyhimg else is extra, and put them in the correct rooms undamaged? What Single person let's unknown moving men in a new home at 10 p.m.? It's coersion.

It is not right - the balance being over $1,140, beong charged a additional $700 when they arrive for pickup for "storage and delivery", not responding to my attempts to Schedule a delivery, [redacted] saying they can only deliver at 10 pm and the implied threats.

It's an attempt for me to be so desperate to get my HHG's that I packed myself, and have already paid them $2,000 that I will accept this type of treatment because they have my HHG's. It's not worth it to me. It's not the way you should ever be with another human being, even more a customer.

Response:

Dear Sir/Madam

Customer signed Revised Estimate before pick up and was agree with a price increase (paperwork were attached in the last respond). Also price was increased, because customer needs additional time in storage. Our dispatch dept. trying to reach the customer, but she never answer the phone, return a calls or replying for emails we sent.

Sincerely,

Always Affordable Moving & Storage Inc.

Review: I was offered a reasonable quote by [redacted] for my move and left a deposit. When the movers arrived over an hour late on the scheduled day they proceeded to start adding charges for things that were clearly in my quote. As I had to be out of my house that day I was at their mercy. They then quoted a 4-5 hour timeframe to complete the pack which I expected as I had to make a 5 hour drive that evening. After 8 hours they assured me that they could finish without me being there so I left. They left 2 rugs, a printer, a box of bathroom items, and a chair. Then I was assured a delivery date by [redacted] which wasn't honored as well as the dispatch individual being very rude, so much that I had to threaten reporting my Harley stolen before he would schedule a delivery time 2 days after the contracted date (which they charged me an additional $250 for the bike when I told [redacted] the model and weight during my initial quote to which the dispatch guy blamed it on her "being a woman" and therefore didn't understand motorcycles).

Then comes the delivery. My bed was damaged, they damaged the floor of the new house, and ruined about a thousand dollars of soundproofing that they used to pack items as it got shredded (I'm a musician I'm my spare time). Since my delivery had to split into 2 days I was again forced into a delivery date that was inconvenient. All said and done the quote was less than half what I was charged and I was forced to pay in cash or they wouldn't deliver my items.Desired Settlement: Mostly, I would like others to know that they are not only a rip off, but just bad people that will hold your goods for ransom. A refund of some form would be great as they did absolutely nothing they said they would (quoted $1,700 and paid $4,200 along with damage and incorrect dates with a lot of stress). The dispatch guy on the phone was lucky he wasn't in front of me at the time. I've never been spoken to like that, much less by someone trying to earn my business. The 10 employees and families I will be moving down here this winter will most assuredly be using a different company.

Response:

I am rejecting this response because:

las stated in my original complaint, I did sign the documents as I was forced to (couldn't call another moving company in that short notice). I did not estimate a weight, [redacted] did based on my information as well as me giving the EXACT weight of the motorcycle and was still charged an additional $250 for it. As you look on the estimate, it also says shrink wrap is included but on the bill for materials used it also charges for Shrink wrap. I was also told via phone, not email, about the pickup and delivery times as well as the absolute rudeness of the dispatch guy changing the delivery time multiple times on the phone to later and later until I threatened with the police. I know they cover their bases with all the signatures and make you pay cash to avoid disputes, which is why I am complaining to the Revdex.com as I know go won't receive an apology or restitution from them. Even though my original quote even has the bike listed and they charged the $250 extra I know they will keep that money and not even refund that even though it's a glaring overcharge.

I'm sure that the claim will go unpaid for damage as well. This was an awful experience for myself, but at least my employees won't be wasting their money with them, thank god.

Response:

Pick up was done on time. There was no guaranteed day for delivery. Delivery was done close to date, customer preferred.

We are ready to refund $250.00 to the customer, was charged for motorcycle to resolve this matter.

Review: Delivered my belongings but left my mattress because they "forgot to load it into the truck" from their warehouse. Delivery man acknowledged it was their fault and promised it would be delivered within 2-3 days. It has now been 10 days. Answered every phone call until they took my money, now refuse to answer any of my calls or even acknowledge my existence. I have been sleeping on the floor for 10 days. Swore me during the process because I was to stupid to understand that the moving company "didn't have a truck driver."Desired Settlement: Deliver my mattress as I have paid you for, as you promised, as the least you could do. Since they refuse to acknowledge I exist, I have to assume they plan to keep my property and will pursue all legal means, begining with reporting theft. During the process I have been sworn to, and now ignored by always affordable while I have patiently followed every one of their rules, including paying for storage fees which I was told was included in the cost, and is not explicitly mentioned anywhere in the contract. I will begin legal procedure if I do not hear from them by 7pm EST on October 28, 2015. They have made me sleep on the floor for 10days, and I fully plan to respond at the very least with a commensurate response.

Response:

The dispatch said they would call me on Monday to resolve the issue. They didn't. I called on Wednesday and told them I was flying internationally on Friday morning and we agreed that I could let a roommate open the door for them if they could not deliver before my flight. He promised and assured to call me on Thursday to confirm details. Once again, as expected, he didn't. This is the 19th night I am sleeping on the floor.
