Am-Ko Auto, Inc. Reviews (12)

We bought a car from here 3 years ago, the day of purchase we were told that the window didn’t roll down but they had to order a piece and get it fixed along with a couple other things. We tried getting it fixed and asking about the order for a year, it was never done so we ended up going somewhere else. Now the car was involved in a accident, we were told to go through them for the gap insurance. We have been calling them for 2 weeks no answer no response. And when we do get an answer we are left on hold for 45 minutes to a hour only to get hung up on. This place is horrible.

We auto has resolve **. *** issue. There was a miss communications between us and ***. Problem was mutually resolve and both party are equally happy. please remove this complaint from your system thanks you. Complaint #

I went to amko auto, they were very professional and courteous the staff was very knowledgeable of the cars and they help me get a nice suv

I recently hired All American relocation to move my office furniture from my office to an a vacant store front three doors down (less than yards) and then back to my office over the weekend of June 25th Prior to the move, I met with *** ***, the owner, and told him that I was very worried about my furniture being damaged It was all brand new furniture, less than months old, and in perfect condition He assured me that it would be well taken care of and that they were bonded and insured I paid over $1,for them to move two desks, credenza, small kitchen table, lobby chairs, side tables, and boxes Prior to the move, I took pictures of all the furniture When everything was moved back into my office, my administrative assistant and I took a thorough look to see if anything had been damaged My desk had gouges all along the side of it and the drawers no longer closed properly My administrative assistant's desk had a two inch scratch on it A wooden side table has been handled so roughly that two legs were detached and had blue marks on them Lastly, a kitchen chair had also been damaged
*** *** the owner, was made aware of the damages to the furniture He sent a repair man out to handle it The repair man said it could all be fixed except the side table and the drawers on my desk My administrative assistant called their office over times with no response to get these items fixed After over a week and a half with no response, I sent an e-mail to Mr*** When I told Mr*** that the end table could not be fixed, he declined fixing it because he had already sent his repair man out He also acted as if the repair was not his fault and that the blue marks were to minuscule to worry about
I would not recommend anyone entrust anything of value to All American relocation There website states they will do "whatever it takes" but there is nothing further from the truth

We have everything resolve but the problem we have is the customer have not response to any of our phone calls nor letter please advise that am-ko auto inc have try our best to reach [redacted].
Thank You

My moving experience with All American Relocation was wonderful. It was a process I didn't look forward to, but they made it easy from start to finish. First an estimator met me at my house and patiently explained the process and went room to room to review what would or would not be moved. I received a reasonable estimate in a very timely manner. Communication from my move coordinator kept me in the loop throughout the process.
Moving out of my house was a 2 day process. The first day, a very nice, polite and efficient crew arrived right on time. They were great!
The next day, they returned with one additional person to actually load their truck. Again, I could not have been more pleased with their performance or their attitude.
I highly recommend All American Relocation, Inc.

Review: I made a visit to Am-ko Auto sales located at [redacted] MD [redacted] on July 19,2014 to purchase a vehicle. My mother and Step father were with should I need a co-signer. I presented my paystubs which reflects a student loan garnishment, my employer information, my residence information, and how long I've been on my job. Al M[redacted], the sales rep that was assisting me reviewed my information, made a copy of my documents and ID, and said that we can make something happen. My stepfather was needed for a co-signer because of the garnishment and my low wages. They had nothing that evening, so Mike told me to call back the next day since he had some more vehicles coming in. I returned on July 21,2014 and my finance was approved. Will another sales rep told me that my stepfather would need to come back to sign the paperwork, but it has been approved for me to take the vehicle home. So I submitted my downpayment, signed my finance contract agreement, and what my monthly payments were going to be. I was issued paper tags and a temporary registration to purchase my hard tags, I even have several text messages from will that states the only thing left to be done was for my step father to sign the documents for the co-signer. When my stepfather goes to Amko on July 25,2014 , he waited for the documents for more than one hour, and no one presented them. Then he returns on July 29, 2014 with my mother, and spoke with Al M[redacted] that he came back to try and sign the paperwork again, and Mr. M[redacted] acknowledge that he remember him being there before. Mr M[redacted] goes to the back to get the appropriate person. A guy that called himself Bob says that he is the finance manager. Then he stated that no financing was on the vehicle because of they did'nt know about the garnishment. My mother stated to him that not only did my son tell you about, but it reflects on his pay stub, that's why his step father needed to co-sign for him. Despite my proof Am-ko Auto Inc. is trying to breach the contract.Desired Settlement: I want to keep the car since I've signed the finance contract, make the payments outlined in my finance contract, and not have the inconvenience of searching for another vehicle. If Am-ko repo my vehicle after I have already issued all the supporting documentation, downpayment, co-signer, then I will continue for as long as it takes, to pursue this breach of contract by them legally and file suit for the return of my downpayment, breach of contract, and other damages.

Review: This letter documents the interaction I have had with Am-Ko auto in regards to the purchase of the 2004 Jeep Grand Cherokee (VIN [redacted])

Wednesday March 20, 2013

I went to Am-ko auto with a letter I received about a fresh-start credit program they had. After spending hours there was informed that I could be put into a leasing program that they had and I only had to bring $200 to drive away with a car.

Saturday March 23,

I came with the $200 down payment was then informed that I needed at least another $1000 to get into a vehicle. I walked away.

Sunday March 24, 2013

Am-ko called me with a vehicle they could finance me for. I was shown a burgundy mercury grand marquis that was dirty and smelled of strong cigarette smoke. He tried to point out that the bumpers had been painted as a positive. I test drove the car to find the following issues

- Driver side mirror was cracked

- Head lights didn’t work

- Signals blinked double time because of the head lights

- Signals did not turn off after completing the turn

- The smell of cigarette smoke was so strong, I got a headache.

- Opened the hood to find the engine looked like it had a fire – with white ash all over.

- I refused the vehicle and walked away.

When I returned to the dealership I was shown the jeep as an alternative to prior ill conditioned vehicle they tried to sell me.

Test drove vehicle and identified issues:

- No radio face plate

- Motor seemed to be dropping when the vehicle down shifted to first gear while coming to a stop

Resolution:

- Am-ko kept the vehicle to install new motor mounts

- Am-ko auto has vehicle

Monday March 25, 2013

- Am-ko called to inform me vehicle was ready for delivery

Test drove the vehicle and identified issues:

- The radio plate was still not there

- The motor still seemed to drop a little but it had majorly improved.

Resolution:

- Made an appointment to install new radio on Tuesday March 26, 2013.

- Stated they would recheck the motor mounts to validate the fix had been successful

- Signed the contract - Vehicle is in my possession

Tuesday March 26, 2013

Drove the vehicle and discovered the following issues:

- To start the vehicle you had to crank the engine at least twice.

- Car rattled when idling at a light.

Resolution

- Informed Am-ko of the issues and they said tell the body shop where I was taking the vehicle to get the radio installed.

- Got radio installed but due to the hour of the afternoon he did not have time to address any of the other issues.

- Told me to call back and set up an appointment for the other issues

- Vehicle is in my possession

Wednesday March 27, 2013

Drove the car on Wednesday and noticed the following issues.

- Check engine light came on upon first start and remained on for the rest of the day.

- Drivers side mirror did not adjust (and its automatic)

- Muffler or something seemed to rattle the car while driving

Resolution:

- Took the car back to Am-ko letting them know it was not safe for me and my family to drive and I would not be driving it until it was fixed.

- Was told they would be fixing the vehicle and they would let me know what the issue was.

- No loaner car or alternative vehicle is offered

- Am-Ko auto has the vehicle.

Friday March 29, 2013

- No communication from Am-ko Auto

- On Friday evening after 5:00 pm I went to Am-ko Auto and spoke with the finance manager. I informed him at this point that their lack of communication about the vehicle was a big concern and I was ready to consider alternative arrangements because I did not have transportation for my family. He then told me he would speak to the manager and call me back on Saturday morning with an update on the vehicle and the situation.

- I have now made alternative arrangements for transportation.

Monday April 1, 2013

- AM – no communication from Am-ko auto

- PM (early afternoon) – received a call from finance manager stating that the vehicle was ready and that he would personally test drive the vehicle to insure its safety and would call me when that is done.

- PM (evening) - no communication from Am-ko auto

- Am-ko auto has vehicle

Tuesday April 2, 2013

- AM –Called Am-ko auto and finance manager’s personal cell phone and got no answer. When I called again form a different number, they picked up the phone. I talked to the manager and he stated that the vehicle was ready and that someone would test drive it to insure the issues were addressed (again?). I informed him of my extreme dissatisfaction and he said to come in and they would work the situation out for me.

- I went to the dealership and had a conversation with manager letting him know that their lack of communication and shady business dealings had led me to have to make alternative arrangements for transportation and that I was no longer interested in the car. I offered to relinquish half of my down payment of $1300 to cover whatever fees they may have incurred. He only seemed interested in trying to force me to take delivery of the vehicle

- During conversation – mechanic comes in with vehicle and work order letting me know that the vehicle was not there and not ready when they stated it was.

- I walked away.

- Am-ko auto has the vehicle

Wednesday April 3, 2013

- No communication from Am-ko auto

- Am-ko auto has vehicle

- I now have alternative transportation.

Thursday April 4, 2013

10:48 am – received a call from the finance manager at Am-ko stating that they would be willing to do one of two things.

1. Include a one year / 12000 mile extended warranty free

2. Switch the vehicle

I informed him that due to their lack of communication and concern about the issue I had already made alternative arrangements for transportation and I was not interested in doing any further business with them. I would be willing to relinquish up to half of my down payment to cover any fees and that I would not take delivery of this or any other vehicle from them.

In addition, the dealership had financing of the vehicle sold to [redacted]. I had already spoken with the finance manager ([redacted]) there and was informed and assured that financing of the jeep would not go forward with them. The insurance on the vehicle has also been cancelled as of Monday April 1, 2013. As of Tuesday April 2, 2013 the jeep had not been registered in my name with the [redacted] MVA. Am-ko auto still has possession of the vehicle.

``Desired Settlement: I would like to have this contract cancelled and a refund of my down payment. I am willing to negotiate the refund to due to the two days I was in posession of the vehicle. But this is not to exceed half of the down payment and should only be $200 or less reasonably.

Review: On Feb 4, 2013 we purchased a 2010 [redacted] from Amko Auto at [redacted] MD. Upon signing the contract 800.00 dollars of [redacted] Gap Insurance was written and signed by Amko consultant, as we the purchaser has all documents. On April 27, 2014 we purchased a new 2012 [redacted] from [redacted] the finance company paid off the 2010 [redacted] including the gap insurance monies. We contacted [redacted] Gap for the refund but the policy did not exist according to the company. We went to Amko Auto who claimed they sent the paperwork but the [redacted] Gap consultant did not received the money or the policy. We are complaining because [redacted] & [redacted] Gap said that we should received our refund from Amko Auto. The Amko Auto finance officer is giving us the run around. [redacted] and I have visited [redacted] on quite a few occasion since the beginning of the month of May 2014.

We called [redacted] Gap process a cancellation which was submitted by [redacted] and never heard anything more until we contacted Amko. [redacted] Gap does and never received the policy or money.

I contacted the [redacted], Owner of Amko on 5/19/14 who should return our call once he receives the message by [redacted], Amko employee in [redacted].Desired Settlement: As value customers living directly across the street from the dealership (Amko) shares not so good business with us at this point and we would like to have our refund given back immediately. Thank you.

Review: I bought a car from this dealer, put a 1000.00 dollars down and them the "transmission" went out. They got the car and suppose to be placing another transmission in it. It has been two weeks and haven't got my money back or car back.Desired Settlement: I want my money back and they can have that car. God knows what else is wrong with it! Would you please assist me? Thank You , look forward to hearing from you.

Review: I got a car from Am-Ko Auto. I was looking for a car to buy and I stopped into this lot. I started a few cars, looked at a few and I finally decided to test drive this one. I got in the car with a salesman and we went over some things that were wrong with the car, the gentleman assured me that he would have these things looked at and fixed but I had to bring it back to the dealership when I had time to drop it off so that it can be looked at and fixed. I dropped my car off after the purchase and to only be called back a week later letting me know they couldn't find anything wrong with my car. My car at that point was cutting off and hesitating, they told me when I got my car that the bank was forcing me to get an extended warranty (NOT TRUE) so I paid for the warranty. Now I have a car that hasn't had a oil change, the engine is knocking , the car is hesitating like there is a transmission issue, and the car also smells when it is idle. I am truly mad about this all, I was sold a car that God only knows what happened prior to me buying it. My car had no safety inspection sticker the cars that had inspection stickers on them the information didn't match nor did were they fresh stickers. They all are being transferred and they are being falsified. . . This issue doesn't only go to myself but everyone that has brought cars from them. Customers are took everyday and it's not fair that we as the consumer have to deal with this. You buy a car and they don't even put gas in the cars, this lot is trifling and I am truly upset about this all. Please tell me you all can do something about this because I am now stuck with a car that I made them take back and fix everything that's wrong with it but I don't think they will and I don't know what else to do. I am going to contact everyone I know until this company is exposed.Desired Settlement: I would like to have my car fixed since I was offered and 30 day or 1,000 mile warranty. When I took it back within the time they claimed they couldn't find anything wrong with it but clearly it's something wrong.
