Amarr Garage Doors

We have six amar garage doors with windows. The windows have been broken repeatedly by burglars and vandals. I called to request replacement parts to upgrade the doors to solid panels. I was told they will not sell replacement parts directly to the owner of the doors, one must go through a intermediary dealer even for parts. This review is for consumers who have not purchased garage doors yet, be aware, due to amar's policies your purchase could cost a lot more long-term than you were expecting.

The doors were installed on 06/19/ I complained that there is an obvious manufacturers defect on the garage doors The upper section of the doors do not sit properly as the lip that sits on the middle section is not cut properly Therefor leaving a noticeable gap between the middle and upper sections During rainy season, wind and rain enter these sections The garage doors create a whistling noise during windy weather Also, bugs make their way into the gap so when you open the garage doors, bugs fall out and into my garage My other complaint is that their are yellow stains all over the doors and in the creases It is obvious it was caused by manufacturing or packaging of these garage doors We cannot paint the garage doors as it voids the warranty

Review: I have bought 2 garage doors from lowes and they were manufactured and installed by amarr under contract with pella corporation . The purchase made was on 3/3/2015 and one of the garage doors has a defect in it which I recently noticed . I contacted lowes and Amarr and all I got was the run around but no resolution from the manufacturer Amarr to replace the defective garage door . The door is NOT manufactured correctly and it is defective and needs to be replaced The purchase was done at lowes store 620 and the Date is On 3/3/2015 . The manufacturer and installer is Amarr and they are pella garage doors . Amarr reference number [redacted]Desired Settlement: Amarr needs to replace the defective garage door with an exact garage door but with no defects and brand new and same specifications and standards and same material OR they need to refund me my money a total of 2200 dollars that I paid So either a replacement with a brand new same specification and same material garage door or a complete refund of 2200 dollars

On June 22, 2015, Lowe’s faxed a work order for a service call to the Service Center at Entrematic that handles Amarr Garage Doors. The work order stated that two of the sections on one of Mr. [redacted]’s Amarr garage doors were not aligning properly. A Service Center representative spoke to Lowe’s representatives and discussed the service call request on June 24, 2015. The same day, the Service Center reached out to Mr. [redacted] and requested pictures, in order to diagnose the problem. Mr. [redacted] agreed to provide these pictures. The Service Center then contacted the contracted installer who installed this door to request that they return to the job site and inspect the door. On June 30, 2015, the Service Center received documentation from the contracted installer stating that the sections were not sitting flush.On July 8, 2015, after all the necessary pictures were obtained, the Service Center called the customer and left a voicemail to advise that the issue was most likely caused due to an abnormality in the formation of the top of the section, and that Entrematic would order replacement parts and request expedited delivery and installation of these parts. Once the sections requiring replacement had been confirmed, the Service Center ordered the sections and requested expedited shipment and installation. The Service Center will continue to update Lowe’s and the customer as to the expected arrival date of the materials and available installation appointments.The last contact the Service Center had with Mr. [redacted] was today, July 10, 2015. The resolution specialist explained the cause of the problem. Mr. [redacted] advised the door is still functional, but voiced concerns about the glazed section. The resolution specialist advised Mr. [redacted] that if the problem persists after the two intermediate sections are replaced, we will replace the glazed section as well. Mr. [redacted] is fine with this plan. We are attempting to expedite the sections to speed the resolution to this issue, and the resolution specialist (Andrew P[redacted]) provided Mr. [redacted] his direct contact information in case he has questions or concerns in the meantime.Thank you,[redacted]Director, Service Center

I am rejecting this response because:

I still feel that the whole door needs to be replaced and not just 2 sections . But that is the way they want to resolve the problem by exchanging only 2 sections and then see if other sections need to be replaced . So. I am not satisfied until the whole garage door is replaced with ALL its sections because they are all defective and it took a long time for them to make a decision to honor the warranty I want to wait and see the final door installed . Everything as far as decisions or calling me back takes forever . Very poor customer service
