The first few weeks with Amazing Pools started out okay. Then when Mike went on vacation his son took over. His son called me at work on the day he was cleaning my pool to say that my dog was playing with his pool net and put a hold in it and if it happened again, I would have to pay for it. I called Mike to let him know that I no longer wanted his services. If a pool guy can’t keep his equipment or tools away from owners dogs, there would be a lot of pool companies out of business. Mike was out-of-town at that time. Mike tried to call me stating he did not want to lose my business and to see if we could work it out. I tried calling him back but had to leave a message. I said I did not want to continue with him. We did not speak again until about a week later when I asked him about the referral program that he said I would receive since I referred my friend and she was getting his services. He said I would have only got that if I had continued on with him. He said he would email me an invoice. I did not receive an invoice and thought that because he was out-of-town that he was running behind on sending them out.

I then left out-of-town to [redacted] for my father’s and brother’s scattering of their ashes and came back on July 4th. Mike sent me a lengthy and negative text about why I hadn’t paid my bill. I was very surprised when I received that because I always pay my bills on time. He texted me back saying he had sent me numerous emails. I said that I did not get them. He said check your Spam. I did and found them there. He tacked on a $25 late fee and stated I should be more responsible. I told him that I couldn’t pay the bill if I didn’t get the bill since he sends it through [redacted] and I never check my Spam. His professionalism went out the door and he told me that he can take me to small claims court or get a mechanics lien on my home if I don’t pay the late fee!!!

I am extremely glad that I am NO LONGER using Amazing Pools any more and anyone thinking of using them might want to reconsider especially after what happened to me and what could happen to someone else. He was paid including his late fee. Sad…..

Review: [redacted] from "Amazing Pools By Mike," re-plumbed my pool pump backwards and replaced the cartridge less than a year ago, plumbing it backwards caused the cartridge inside the filter to break. This part is designed to last 3-5 years based on what [redacted] himself told me. I purchased my from [redacted], who is the gentleman who hired Amazing Pools By Mike. I do not know the price paid or the amount of work done. However [redacted] did inform me that he replaced the Cartidge and re-plumbed the pool.

On the phone [redacted] told me that he plumbed my pump correctly and did not believe me that he did it backwards. We went back and forth on the phone and ended with him telling me it was done correctly and me telling him I would go take it apart and check. So I took it apart and sure enough its backwards. I called him and attempted to have him come out to take a look for himself and he tells me he does not service this side of town anymore. I have talked to multiple people about the type filter my pool has and although it is a DE filter it is supposed to be plumbed like a sand filter. I understand how he could have made this mistake but that should not excuse him from fixing it and doing it right.Desired Settlement: I have already purchased that $600 part of the filter that broke because of [redacted] plumbing it wrong and I would like him to re-plumb the pump correctly.

In all fairness to Amazing Pools By Mike, I was contracted to do the work by a previous owner named [redacted]. This work was initially done back in the first part of 2012 and have not had any issues. If the plumbing was wrong the pool wouldn't have operated correctly. Here I am being a pool professional but am being told by a home owner that its wrong. Most people think that they know until they are educated. You can go to any pool shop and ask if a DE filter and sand filter are plumbed the same and you will find out in fact they are opposite. I don't feel I shoud have to make a repair for 2 reasons. 1) I wqs not contracted by the new owner. 2) The work has been done over a year ago and has no warranty.

Amazing Pools by [redacted] gave me a quote to have my pool emptied and the tile cleaned,it was done on time and his service was very good. [redacted] has the best customer service either by email or telephone. I would highly recommend him. I will use his company for any future requirements.

[redacted] has looked after our pool for over three years now and has been on top of needed repair and ongoing maintenance issues. Our pool has always been in top preforming shape, clean and inviting. Our complements to [redacted] and his crew for consistent service with a smile.

We have been using Amazing Pools By Mike now for almost half a year and both my wife and I are EXTREMELY HAPPY!

Better Pools By Mike works hard work and the pool guys show extreme dedication to keeping my pool clean. Every week I get a report on my pool after they brush, clean and check for chemicals/add chemicals! Not only are they professional but they are also friendly and treat our pool like it is their own; I feel like my pool is being maintained by family!

I recommend Amazing Pools By Mike to everyone!

At first the service was fine, but as time went on the quality dropped. Mechanical issues would take a long time to get repaired and I ended up doing a lot of the work that I was paying this company to do. Further, the equipment they sold me to keep the pool clean was not designed for my type of pool, causing it to malfunction. When I brought this to the company owner's attention he made excuses that it was untrue then later in the same conversation admitted that it wasn't the proper equipment. I decided to cancel the service since it wasn't cost effective. The final payment did not go through on time(that's on me). I had always been the point of contact but this time [redacted] chose to go after my wife, threatening a mechanic's lien if he didn't get his money. I paid the final amount plus late fee and let him know, he immediately responded with a vulgar text. It's been nothing but excuses and hassle that turned into hostility dealing with this company.

[redacted] came as scheduled every Wednesday and was prompt with invoicing.
I hired him for about a short period (a few months) this year. It was so short only because he quit before I could fire him.
At the beginning, I was asked how I used my pool, and was asked to notify them before I was going to have a pool party ahead of time. At this time, my pool was perfectly clean, and keeping itself well groomed.
The following week, the pool was not cleaning itself well. I noticed that the basket attached to the hose was ‘bubbling’ and making noise. Upon opening it, I saw that the o-ring was sticking out just slightly which was causing the issue. I fixed it, and the pool cleaned itself successfully.
When I saw [redacted] next, I spoke to him in person. I was friendly and even mentioned that it seemed to be common oversight, one I had overlooked as well in the past
When I asked him to pay special attention to this, I was treated as if I was an annoyance, or getting in his way, when in fact I was merely expressing concern, as he, an alleged professional, had just overlooked a key piece of equipment. Instead of thanking me for my concern and oversight, he rudely insisted no less than 3 times that he did put it together correctly, notwithstanding the obvious failure to do so.
Later on that day, I received a text message from [redacted] stating that "I don't believe your a good fit for me at his time so I'm canceling your service." and that "If you'd clean up your backyard a little bit you won't be having these pool issues and taking all the pool toys out[sic]." This is not only mistaken, as my yard is landscaped biweekly, but wholly unprofessional on his part.
On Thursday June 19th I received the final invoice via email. I immediately scheduled a payment with my bank for a partial month of service ($58.75) which was mostly likely going to go out of my account on Monday the 23rd. On Sunday the 22nd, I received a second invoice again demanding payment. Finally on Tuesday June 24th, I received a third invoice, this one with a $20 late fee, which is not part of my contract.
In this notice, [redacted] stated that because the payment has not arrived within 5 days (of which two were weekend, non banking days) that he was going to "send it to collections" and "place a mechanics lien on [my] house." Bear in mind, I had already scheduled the payment, which I could have sent legally through the US Mail, taking much longer.
As of June 24th, the payment has already left my bank. After confronting him about his 3 invoices and threats to my household, he has removed the $20 late fee.
It is my opinion that [redacted] was and is rude, unprofessional, and conducts his business with a complete disregard for customer service and honest and/or reasonable business practices. He refused to take responsibility for his lapses in workmanship, harassed me with no legitimate basis, and threatened my home with frivolous legal action.
