I do not agree most statements that was made by the two MorticianFirst of all I have rightsI asked the Top Mortician to make copies of my Father's paperwork'sSecondly the Mortician that was with us on the private viewing did state that "They were too busy"and that they were "short staffed" He falsefully stated that he was busy in the front desk.I have witnesses of what he exactly stated including myselfHe unprofessionally presented My FatherThis is called "Unprofessionally presented-Mortician Neglect".HE KNEW that I would call him in for questions about My Father's appearance "his smile" and among other point outs we made at that time including his ears, his face,his collar that were too tight around his neckHe tells me that the collar shirt was too small and thats why My father looked liked he was chokingFirst of all My father is skinny, he could've adjusted it to make it loose because I know that a cut was made behind the shirt so I dont see why he couldn't make that simple adjustmentI know the mortician could've done at his best, but instead he rushed into his workAnd in his profession I've seen far better than what I experiencedHe had told me once embalming takes place there is nothing that can be doneI disagreeI never said that to "draw lips" it was my Father's side of his family.(My Father's Son's wife)Aside of that there were two indentions behind my Father's head that was visible and disc***red by my childrenI had made that initial "**" because he had told me that nothing can be done to My Father's appearanceMy mistake that I should have not placed that initialI also disagree with the other Mortician statement who made changes to my Father's lips and to bring out his face and to make him look peaceful the day of my Father's serviceMy friend was with the Mortician and had guide him on how my father should lookWithout my friend there? The Mortician wouldn't know what to doBy the way my friend's Grandfather is a Mortician so he knows what procedure etcneeds to be done because he had worked with his grandfatherI never got a call from the Mortician superviserHe then told me he was the superviser, so at that point I was confusedI had no problem with the Funeral ArrangerI just want to be heard because I don't want any family members to experience what we went throughThat Mortician who presented My Father on the private viewing does not know how to properly speak to family members at allHe should act towards dignity and passion in his work and to take the time and effort to make the deceased presentableI will not allow this to happen again, or further actions will be takenI also have before and after photos of my Father, including the indentions behind his head that was visible upon request

& Mortuary, is able to offer the following summary together with the statements of those individual employees who assisted with the familyIt is our hope that this factual progression of activity may add some clarity to Ms***’ comments
The first person at Mililani who assisted Ms***, was MsJosie J***Through the arrangement process, an initial private viewing for the family was scheduled on November 16, 2015, with the full service being scheduled for November 17, Her statement confirming the same is attached
The second person at Mililani who attended to and dressed Mr***, was Matthew *D***A detailed explanation of his process is provided in his statement that has been attachedHe notes that additional attention was given to the facial area to retain as much hydration as possibleHis report is absent of any unusual condition
The third person who assisted the family at the time of the private viewing was Keoni N***He outlines in his statement three (3) areas of concern expressed by the familyA discussion ensued between himself and the family, and it was agreed that two of the three concerns would be addressedThe family elected not to have any restorative works done to Mr***’s lipsAs such, he believed that all matters were resolved to the family’s satisfactionHe does mention that he attended to questions from another family before completing the adjustments to Mr***, causing a delay in attending to the *** familyKeoni is a valued employee, and acted responsibly by apologizing to the family for the delay
Mililani believes that anything less than a full resolution is a reason to be concernedTherefore, a private viewing prior to the full service is strongly recommended so that family can express any last concernsMililani has maintained a practice of having the family affirm their satisfaction with the decedent’s condition with a short written confirmationThe confirmation given by Ms*** *** after the requested adjustments is attached hereto
Additionally, Mililani usually asks the family to provide a photo to assist us with life details of the personIn this instance, the family did not provide any photo to assist our staff
Lastly, on the morning of the full service, the family again points to the condition of Mr***’ lipsThe prior day’s discussions ended with agreement that no further action be taken to impr*** the look of his lipsThat morning Pete Dilwith, Operations Director, was asked to augment the lips of Mr***, as fully described in his statementThis adjustments met with the family’s full approval
Mililani maintains high expectations for each of its employeesEach employee involved in this arrangement acted responsibly and with compassion toward the bereaved family
We appreciate the families that choose Mililani to assist themWe do not take this responsibility lightly
