This vehicle was towed into the shop and Mr [redacted] was provided an estimate before any repairs were started The primary problem, and there were many others, is that the vehicle would not start(it would not turn over at all ) The battery, igntion switch and control module were damaged The control moodule is an ENGINE electronic control It has no function that relates to the blower for the heat or for the radio Those items are entirely separate Mr [redacted] was shown that the fan blower problem is a defective resistor He declined the repair. The engine, when the vehicle was towed in, had no oil showing on the dipstick The vehicle wass showing leaks from multiple areas, including the pan gasket, the filter housing, and rear main seal Mr [redacted] was provided an estimate for the repairs and opted only for an oil change and the filter housing gasket to restore the oil level. The vehicle had worn brakes and disconnected brake wear sensors The front suspension is worn and both lower control arms, the front sway bar links, and the tie rod ends are dangerously worn Again, Mr [redacted] was provided an estimate for this work and declined to have it done.Mr [redacted] was shown the needed repairs to the vehicle while we had in in the garage and on the liftWhat Mr [redacted] requested, paid for, and had done was to make his BMW 530i to run again It does start and run If there are problems related to the work done here, we are willing to repair any problems directly associated with any of the parts or labor that Hudson Import used and did We cannot be held responsible though for an unrelated system simply because it is part of the same vehicle Mr [redacted] 's complaints are about unrelated systems

The repairs that have been done are those for which the customer and his insurance have agreed to pay No further work can be done unless there is an agreement by the customer to pay for the work A new engine, transmission and emissions system would be in excess of $25, The customer's insurance limited repairs to $4400The car was brought in with problems relating to excessive oil consumption and engine damage The valve seals were leaking, two camshafts were damaged and one piston was damaged White smoke was coming from the exhaust The customer had an insurance policy which has a limit on the cost of repairs We recommended a replacement engine but the insurance policy ceiling on costs limited the level of repairs possible Because of the limit, we had to find used camshafts to limit the customer's costs This was time-consuming New camshafts were available and would have cost substantially more and been delivered in days, not weeks This was all explained to the customer and he agreed as it limited his costs The emissions system was overloaded by the excessive oil in the exhaust The customer's insurance will not pay for this repair and the "Check Engine" light is on This affects engine performance and is easily remedied by replacing parts of the system The damage to this system though was done by the customer by his driving the car when it was smoking The sounds that the customer reports are from the engine going into default mode from the "Check Engine" light being on.There are no parts missing from the car The car is not idling high

Mr*** brought us his car with one complaint; it would not start. He was provided an estimate and then authorized the repair. While repairing his vehicle, we noticed numerous oil leaks and a bad resistor for his air conditioning. The repair of the leaks would be costly so Mr*** opted only to have the largest of the leaks repaired and an oil change to bring his oil level to where it is supposed to be to prevent mechanical damage. Mr *** chose not to have any further repairs done even though the vehicle has other fluid leaks, a badly worn suspension, and is in need of brakes. To suggest that we did something to damage his car, such as Mr***'s inference that we caused his rear main seal to leak, is simply ludicrous. This seal requires the removal of the entire transmission assembly to gain access. The repairs that we did were under the hood of the car. We did nothing to affect his radio. This is an old car and in poor condition. Just because I performed and charged for one repair does not mean that I will repair everything on the car. Mr *** received the repairs that he paid for. He paid less than what the same repair would have cost at a dealer. His car did not run when it came into Hudson Import and after the repairs, it was driven out by the customer

damaged.  The control moodule is an ENGINE electronic control.  It has no function that relates to the blower for the heat or for the radio.  Those items are entirely separate.  Mr [redacted] was shown that the fan blower problem is a defective resistor.  He declined the repair. The engine, when the vehicle was towed in, had no oil showing on the dipstick.  The vehicle wass showing leaks from multiple areas, including the pan gasket, the filter housing, and rear main seal.  Mr [redacted] was provided an estimate for the repairs and opted only for an oil change and the filter housing gasket to restore the oil level. The vehicle had worn brakes and disconnected brake wear sensors.  The front suspension is worn and both lower control arms, the front sway bar links, and the tie rod ends are dangerously worn.  Again, Mr [redacted] was provided an estimate for this work and declined to have it done.Mr. [redacted] was shown the needed repairs to the vehicle while we had in in the garage and on the lift. What Mr. [redacted] requested, paid for, and had done was to make his 2001 BMW 530i to run again.  It does start and run.  If there are problems related to the work done here, we are willing to repair any problems directly associated with any of the parts or labor that Hudson Import used and did.  We cannot be held responsible though for an unrelated system simply because it is part of the same vehicle.  Mr [redacted]'s complaints are about unrelated systems.

I understand everything the company is saying but the oil leak he said he fixed is not fixed and if he could fix it this would be resolved because I'm tired of haggling and I have pictures to show my car still leaks oil so if they fix that problem I will be satisfied thanks

customer's insurance limited repairs to $4400The car was brought in with problems relating to excessive oil consumption and engine damage.  The valve seals were leaking, two camshafts were damaged and one piston was damaged.  White smoke was coming from the exhaust.  The customer had an insurance policy which has a limit on the cost of repairs.  We recommended a replacement engine but the insurance policy ceiling on costs limited the level of repairs possible.  Because of the limit, we had to find used camshafts to limit the customer's costs.  This was time-consuming.  New camshafts were available and would have cost substantially more and been delivered in days, not weeks.  This was all explained to the customer and he agreed as it limited his costs.  The emissions system was overloaded by the excessive oil in the exhaust.  The customer's insurance will not pay for this repair and the "Check Engine" light is on.  This affects engine performance and is easily remedied by replacing parts of the system.  The damage to this system though was done by the customer by his driving the car when it was smoking.  The sounds that the customer reports are from the engine going into default mode from the "Check Engine" light being on.There are no parts missing from the car.  The car is not idling high.

Hudson Import provides a 90-day warranty on most work.  To be frank though, I need more detail on why this customer is dissatisfied.  What work was done and why is it not satisfactory?  Why did they not return during the warranty period?

I'm not satisfied with anything he has said because first I asked him to look at my clutch switch witch I think was the original problem then he says he fixed all these other things I didn't ask for and didn't show me none of my old parts showing it was the problem.I paid 1450 dollars for him to have my car for almost two months and my car still isn't fixed and when he did my oil change all of a sudden I have a oil leak that was bad and that didn't exist before I think he fabricated that story so I would pay more money also he never listened to nothing I had to say so we got nowhere the ignition control module never needed replaced because everything worked fine before I originally wanted my clutch looked at witch never happened.I still don't think he did any work to the car except a oil change and heat sensor so I would like to see old parts or I'll have to go to the next step.
