She seemed professional at first, sending me pictures whenever I requested them, and seemed enthusiastic about providing a puppy to me. I only asked for pictures of her yard to make sure the puppy wasn't coming from a puppy mill and a picture of the mom so I would have an idea of what my puppy would look like, nothing too unreasonable. She sent the pics and everything seemed fine until her mother dog didn't produce enough puppies, leaving me without a puppy and wanting my deposit back. Once I asked for the deposit back, her attitude completely changed. She started going off on me about how unprofessional I was, that somehow asking for those 2 pics meant I was "questioning her" or "being suspicious" of her credentials. She sent me this long string of text messages just full of misspelled, angry, and uncalled for messages. She told me that being able to refund my $50 deposit in exchange for telling me what she "really thought" about me was "worth it"!! what so-called professional says that to potential customers and business??? I seriously think this woman is shady anyway, getting defensive when I ask for pictures, and no contract or guarantee for the puppies. I have already found someone else who has been more than accommodating, providing me all of the info I could ever need without even asking for it, AND this new breeder gave me a contract.
I think there must be some miscommunication going on. You did not initiate the request for your deposit refund. I actually called YOU as soon as the litter was born, to offer you the option of refunding your deposit or waiting for the next litter, as a courtesy to you and in order to be fair and equitable to all interested buyers. Most sellers consider a deposit non-refundable, however, since I had more inquiries than puppies at that point, and was not rejecting other buyers in order to hold a puppy for you, I was happy to give your deposit back.
I do offer a guarantee on my puppies at pick up for general health and for seven years against genetic diseases.
I also post pictures of the parents in my ads and, in the case of unborn litters, post pictures of past puppies from those parents, so that buyers can get a good idea of what their puppy will look like. However, I hope you understand that part of being a responsible breeder is protecting my privacy and that of my dogs. I would not have been comfortable posting some of the pictures you were requesting in public, and I must keep in mind that any picture I send, could ultimately become public once I send it.
For the past 20 years, my reputation, guarantees and reviews have been adequate for people to have faith in me and trust me. Many customers have great things to say about me and my Collie puppies! In other customer reviews, which can be found on the site where they are advertised, have said,
"...was great to work with. Got a great and beautiful collie puppy. Was able to ship our new collie to us with no problems. She kept us informed through the whole process. Honest person and very friendly."

"Yesterday we purchased a collie puppy from this breeder. I have owned collies all my life and I am very familiar with the breed. When meeting her, I was very impressed with her knowledge. She seems to be very eager to match you with the correct puppy and seems to know the personalities of the pups in the litter that she is selling so she can make recommendations. She is very honest and if there is a problem with a pup, she'll tell you and discuss the problem with you so you will make the right buying decision."

I bought a female collie from this kennel and was very pleased with the breeders knowledge and care for the pups. She was able to answer all my questions promptly and also was inquisitive if the pup would be going to a good home, which I think is a good quality from a breeder. Overall I recommend this breeder and will continue to recommend her to my friends and family.
