Ambetter of Arkansas

I am a client of this health insurance company and have been utterly displeased with the way they handle there decision making process on procedures that are ordered by Doctor's and Specialist's in their field of profession!!! On two separate occasions , the so called Doctors for the insurance company has said no to certain procedures unless I had tried something that he deemed necessary and not my personal Doctor They "Ambetter" refused to ok an MRI of my spine unless I tried a "strong" pain medication first for a month!!! Throw a pill towards it, that will solve the problem!!! I have repeatedly ask to avoid the prescription pain killers , because they are only a temporary fix and are very ADDICTIVE!!! I was given spinal injections to see if they would help my pain and legs, but they had no effect as far as helping me in any way I have fallen a couple of time and have broken number jaw tooth I cannot have this one cut out because every dentist refuses the insurance unless I was a child I have fallen too many times to count and have had jaw teeth cut out I sold everything I have to have these teeth cut out On another occasion my spine specialist ordered an MRI of my upper neck and there again "Ambetter" refused to ok the test unless I went thur physical therapy once again!!! I was extremely hacked off at this decision, because it just seemed to be putting the cart before the horse by doing this in this manor!!! I went thur sessions and they only made things WORSE on my neck I have even more trouble trying to get comfortable enough to rest!! I have welded for years and my neck has NEVER POPPED OR CRACKED until now!!! I am extremely displeased with the way that they have taken to resolve my medical problems For example, if you were involved in an auto accident, The first thing they do is immobilize you so if any underlying injuries are involved They check visually and then at the very least take x-rays to check for possible internal injuries!!! This is why I QUESTION THE MOTIVE'S of the insurance Doctor's Cover there "***" and don't worry about the person who is hurting and in pain!!! I am just another "NUMBER" on the bottom line!!! I have received a letter for DHS in Little Rock that states they will probably change my insurance at the first of the year so THIS will leave me in LIMBO with my Neuro-surgeon appointment on the 6th of Jan??? Now what am I going to do??? Just GRIN AND BEAR IT??? One day they will be held accountable for their actions!!! As we all shall be!!!

Our family has been with Ambetter since January 1, Inefficient and incompetent would be the best words to describe our experienceOur two largest issues have been Payments being credited to our account in a timely manner Many of the providers listed on their own website do NOT take Ambetter insurance
One (of several examples) is trying to find a dentistThe first one listed does not take AmbetterThe second has a wrong numberThe third does not take AmbettterThe forth one the address is incorrectThis dentist has an office, but it miles from my homeThe fifth one listed is not in my hometown, but rather also miles the other direction away When I called in the solution I was given was to wait until November to open enroll in a plan that better suits our needsNot a solutionI am paying premiums for service I can not receive
Similar experience with finding a dermatologist: in correct addresses, doctors that require referrals, doctors that do not take Ambetter Insurance
In regard to billing, be aware that processing times are lengthyWe sent an online payment on the 20th of the month priorBy the following month on the 7th we received a letter saying our coverage would be droppedWhen I called into Ambetter they said they had no record of an online paymentThe recommended that we call into Ambetter directly each month to make our paymentsNot a solution
When open enrollment comes again, we will look for another providerIn the meantime, we need our teeth cleaned

Ambetter is so slow in paying the medical providers (more than a year) that providers are now refusing to accept Ambetter insurance This leaves those of us on the exchange paying for a worthless insurance without the ability to switch insurance carriers

The way they bill you is for one date ei; 4-30-2015, on an auto pay and they end up debeting your account to days after the billing cycle! So in turn payment was taken out on 4-26-THIS NEEDS TO BE STATED VERY IMPORTANTLY TO THE PERSON OR PERSONS GETTING AUTO PAY!! WHICH WERE NOT! Didn't even get any disclaimers in the mailBAD BUISNESS PRACTICE!!
