Ambetter of Tennessee

I was needing help finding a specialist. I called the only number that Ambetter provides. My call was answered by someone in which English was not her primary language, and there was so much noise in the background that I could barely hear her or understand her. I was put on lengthy holds. In her attempt to help me, she read the names of providers that are listed on your website, which I had already done.Several providers are no longer seeing patients, have moved out of the area or retired. I finally disconnected the call. I called back and spoke with someone else that I could barely understand, and he didn't seem to understand what I needed. I looked on your website, and saw information about care management. I called the number again. It only gives you 3 options and speaking with a customer service report care management was not one of them. Not knowing what to do, I requested eligibility. Again, I was assisted by someone that did not have command of the English language. He did try to help me. I asked to speak to someone in care management and he put me on a lengthy hold. He did apologize for the wait and put me on hold again. The last time that he said that he was trying to get through to care management and was going to put me on hold again, I requested that care management call me back. He told me that it would be probably Mon. or Tues. before I heard from them. Today is Friday. I am very thankful that this was not an emergency.

I have called the number before, and each time, my call was answered by someone that I had trouble communicating with, I was put on lengthy holds and several times, after I was placed on hold, I was hung up on.

I cannot believe that a company as large as your's cannot provide better customer service. Your provider directories are not updated, and it is always difficult to find a doctor that accepts it. I was assigned a PCP that I have never heard of. My doctor (PCP) who actually accepts your insurance is not on the list of providers. SURELY, you can do better than this.

Ambetter of TN was puchased through The Market Place. I was assured they had numerous doctors in Sevier County. They do not.

After calling several doctors on the providers list on Ambetter of TN website at which time I was repeated told they do not accept Ambetter of TN or had not even heard of it, I called Ambertter Customer Service to ask for help. On my first call I spoke with a young man who not only assured me that the list I looked on line was 100% accurate but also assured me that my preferred provider *** and his *** accepted Ambetter of TN. I immediatley called the above and was informed that Ambetter was lieing and they do not accept nor had ever heard of said Insurance. I called Customer Service Center again, spoke with a young lady who said call *** I did call him and another doctor on Ambetters Provider list. I was told #come get a new patient kit, fill it out and return it and we will call you in 2-3 weeks to let you know if we will accept you as a paitent. second doctor I called I was told they take one patient be month and you have to call on the day before, if you are the first caller, you get the appointment, if not try again next month. This is not healthcare. I paid two premiums and cannot get care! I read reviews on line stating this was a problem because Ambetter disputes most claim and therefore the patient has to pay, I called Ambetter, spoke with *** who said I could cancel but cannot get a refund until I call the Market Place to cancel. I did so and they informed me this issue is really Ambetters and that I should call the State Dept. Insurance Commission at XXX-XXX-XXXX to file this complaint. I was told there I could file this complaint but that it really was not in there jurisdiction. I would like the two premiums for $242.00 per month for Jan and Feb. 2020 that I paid Ambetter returned to me as they cannot give me healthcare providers in Sevier County, TN.
