The consumer is unhappy with the delay in receiving a refund after their insurance company had paid a bill previously paid in full. The date of service was April of and the consumer had not received their refund as of March 17, 2017. Our service does not handle billing issues in
house, all billing is handled through our contracted billing company Quick Med Claims. The procedure for issuing refunds is; upon receiving payment from insurance companies on already paid accounts, Quick Med Claims will issue a refund to the consumer. After speaking with our Account Manager it was found that the last payment received from the consumers insurance company was in December. A refund had already been issued and should be received by the complainant upon the next scheduled accounts payable. Quick Med Claims recognizes that the refund was outside of the day window and this is due to a transition of personnel within the company. I can ensure that the process is improving and this matter should be resolved soon if not already. I apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused and understand how it may appear being over a year from the original date of service. Something to remember is that policies dictate that refunds are issued based upon receiving of payment by the insurance company and not the date of service. Thank you, *** ***
