multiple claims filed with local sororities[redacted] is the contract at the [redacted] office. Closing this complaint only assists the business. They are committing fraud.

Received your letter re my complaint against AMC Remodeling. No, this complaint has not been resolved and there are numerous others in this area who have paid for roofing work which has not been completed. I am UNDERwhelmed regarding your response--no help at all.

Review: My husband and I contacted AMC Remodeling to come out and provide an estimate on a new roof for our house and several buildings. Paul came out that same afternoon and assessed the roof and thought we had hail damage and suggested they assist us with filing a claim with our homeowner’s insurance. We contracted with AMC Remodeling on 9/30/15 to look into getting a claim paid by our homeowner’s insurance to repair hail damage and agreed if a claim was paid, we would allow them to install a new roof. Our insurance carrier came out to do an assessment of the room and awarded us $9628.90 to replace our roof. Once we received the claim check, my husband signed a materials contract and wrote AMC Remodeling a check for $9628.90 on 11/2/15. At that time we were told that they would start our roof the following week.

AMC Remodeling never initiated communication with us once they received our payment and were never informed of any delays until my husband would call them first. Every time my husband did call them, we would be told it would be a few more weeks until during a call on 12/1/15 we were told it could be possibly January 2016 before they could install our roof.

Since winter is not an optimal time to install a roof, we requested that AMC Remodeling return our money minus a materials deposit and confirm that our roof would be put on in early Spring 2016. On 12/29/15, we were told by Paul that he needed to check with the boss to find out if we could get our money back and would get back to us the first week of January. Again, we never receive a call back. We have been getting the runaround regarding a return of our money and during my husband’s last conversation with Paul on 1/7/16, he told us that they needed our money since some of their previous jobs had not paid them yet.

We find their business practices extremely unacceptable and fraudulent and we would like dissolve the contract with AMC Remodeling and get all of our money immediately. We contacted AMC Remodeling through an attorney and requested they contact us by February 1, 2016 to resolve this matter. AMC Remodeling did not respond to the letter and we have not received our money back.Desired Settlement: We would like a full refund of our payment of $9628.90. We are not willing to accept payments over a long period of time since we are in need a a roof since ours is currently damaged. We saw on here someone else's complaint was resolved in this manner. We will not consider this option.

Review: I paid for a roof repair and it was not done on the promised day. I made repeated calls to find out when the work would be done but no one returned my calls. I gave them a check for half of the price on October 20, 2015. The balance is to be paid on completion of the work. It has now been 38 days and I am impatIent for the work to be completed.Desired Settlement: I wish to know when the roof repair will be done and to have it done in a reasonable amount of time.

In response to the complaint filed on 11/27/2015 with an ID of [redacted].AMC Remodeling L.L.C. has received, reviewed, and acknowledged this complaint. Half of theamount of the contract to repair the roof has been received on the date the contract waswritten. An AMC spokesperson spoke with the homeowner at the signing of the contract andadvised them that the material for the work to be completed would not arrive at the residencefor 4-6 weeks and that the job itself would be started within a week of material being dropped.Due to the fact that we obtain our materials from a third party supplier and our company doesmost of its work on the exterior of homes weather and supply can play a large factor in the startdate of a project. In this instance however we are still well within our 4-6 week projection.Material should be arriving to the property in the next seven days and the job will start shortlyafter that. We at AMC would like to apologize to this customer of ours for the lack ofcommunication and we sincerely hope that the rest of our contracted project goes muchsmoother than what has been experienced.Thank

Response:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me. It is satisfactory to have the work finally completed but the time for the work to completed is not satisfactory and the fact that I was not paid for a referral is not satisfactory. An AMC spokesman spoke with me at the signing of the contract and advised me that materials for the work to be completed would arrive in one week, not 4-6 weeks, and that the roof repair would be started within a week of the material being dropped. Perhaps all spokesmen should be advised of the 4-6 week wait for materials. You are not even within the 4-6 week projection period as almost eight weeks have passed since the signing of the contract on October 20, 2015.

Review: Last April 2013, a representative from AMC remodeling looked at my house and reported hail damage to myself in turn I turned it into my insurance company. When I received the insurance check I gave it to the representative ([redacted]). They never did come to the house and do the work I have tried reaching them to resolve this issue but no one will contact me back. It is not ethical for them to have the insurance money and not do the work needed to my property.Desired Settlement: I would like for them to give me back the check amount and then I can find an honest company to get the work completed.
