Amerassist A/R Solutions Reviews (%countItem)

This Company has run a hard credit inquiry on me with out my knowledge or consent. The lady called me the B word on the phone. They were already notified that their client Smile Direct Club royally screwed up and are refunding me all my money and taking me out of collections. This notice went out last week. They are very unprofessional and verbally abusive on the phone.

As General Counsel for Amerassist A/R Sollutions, I have been asked to reply to the Complaint filed with your office by ***.

The Creditor requested that Amerassist attempt to collect a debt from Ms *** as a result of her default under an installment agreement for services rendered. Amerassist's representative contacted Ms *** on 4/11/19 and was informed that the Creditor and Ms *** had reached a settlement and that no funds were due. Amerassist contacted the Creditor and was informed that a settlement with Ms *** was in process but that they had not yet received the signed settlement agreement. Amerassist has ceased all collection activity on this account. This debt was not reported to the credit bureaus.

AmerAssist contacted me on behalf of another company, ***, regarding an unpaid balance. I advised the agent from AmerAssist that I can’t afford to pay the entire amount of $1,546 all at once and would be willing to go on a payment plan of $100/month. The agent advised me that my suggested payment wasn’t enough monthly payments for their client (***) and I should use a credit card, take out a personal loan or find some other way to immediately pay the amount off. I advised the agent that wasn’t an option for me and I can only afford $100 monthly payments until the balance is paid in full. She continued to intimidate and bully me by saying if I don’t pay off the amount, AmerAssist would continue to report the balance to the credit bureaus and consistently call me everyday. True to her word, I’ve received calls from AmerAssist everyday during the week and letters in the mail. I also received one letter from them on an attorney letterhead to intimidate me into paying something I can’t afford at the moment. I don’t know what to do because they won’t accept my payment offer but continue to harass me.

As General Counsel for Amerassist A/R Solutions, Inc.., I have been asked to reply to the complaint filed with your office by ***.

Amerassist's records indicate that *** (the Creditor) forwarded this past due debt to Amerassist for collection on January 2, 2019.

Amerassist sent Ms *** a series of letters and began to make telephone calls to her residence beginning in late January. The first time that Amerassist's representative talked to Ms *** was on 2/14/19. On that date, Ms *** acknowledged that she owed the debt and requested that the approximately $1,500 unpaid balance be paid at the rate of $100.00 per month. Ms *** was informed that the Creditor would not accept a $100 per month payment plan and that larger payments would be necessary. There were no further telephone discussions between Amerassist and Ms ***.

Amerassist did attempt to reach Ms *** almost every day thereafter but the telephone line was either busy or was not answered. However, attempting to reach a debtor by calling every day is common in the collection industry and is not in violation of any law or regulation pertaining to collection agencies.

After receiving a copy of my credit Reports I noticed that Amerassist AR Solution was reporting

inaccurate information to my credit report. To my knowledge I do not now nor have I ever had an account with

Amerassist AR Solution.

AMERASSIST AR SOLUTIONS is knowingly and inaccurately reporting to the The Credit Bureaus on my behalf in regards to an account that has been written off by my local Dentists office. I have voicemails proving that this account has been resolved by the Original Creditor and that they sent over the necessary paperwork to the Collection Agency which requires them to remove this account from my credit report. As of today 01/01/2019 this account is still inaccurately reflecting on my transunion report as an open account with a balance of $553.

This is NOT a request for “verification” or proof of my mailing address, but a request for VALIDATION made pursuant to the above-named Title and Section. I respectfully request your offices provide me with competent evidence that I have any legal obligation to pay you.
At this time I will also inform you that your offices have reported invalidated information to the Transunion credit bureaus and this action might constitute fraud under both Federal and State Laws. Due to this fact, since negative marks are found on my credit report by your company, I will not hesitate in bringing legal action against you and your client for the following:

Violation of the Fair Credit Reporting Act
Violation of the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act
Defamation of Character

This includes any listing of any information to a credit reporting repository that could be inaccurate or invalidated. If your office fails to respond to this request all references to this account must be deleted and completely removed from my credit file and a copy of such deletion request shall be sent to me immediately.

Complaint: ***

I am rejecting this response because: The Original Creditor asked that this account be removed from my credit report. Not that it be updated to paid and closed. I have a copy of the email and will be forwarding to the credit bureaus for further investigation into this matter.

Amerassist A/R Solutions Response • Jan 06, 2019

This is Amerassist's response to the rejection of its reply to the Complaint.

Amerassist is not permitted to delete a trade line on a properly reported debt to a credit bureau. The facts is that the debt was incurred by the debtor and paid in full after the debt was assigned to Amerassist by the creditor. The only option available to Amerassist was to have the debt reported as "paid in full"

This business has been calling me nonstop to collect what they referred to as a small debt from a hospital. Today 12/15/18 they called my cell phone at 8am on a Saturday morning. When asked to be placed in a do not call list the guy said “there’s no do not call list for this and we will continue to call” when informed that it is illegal for him to call at this time he hung up.

One of those calls was placed at 8:05 am. on a Saturday.

Unbeknownst to me Amerassist AR Solutions is a Dept Collection Agency for *** Physician's. I've had 4 back surgeries between 12/15/16 - 5/8/18 covered under my husbands Medical Insurance. I was unaware that payment for the services for 12/15/16 & 12/16/16 had not been made to *** until yesterday. My husband died by suicide on April 25, 2018 ...one week later I had my 4th back surgery. During my rehab my father was delivering my mail to me so that bills were paid and other issues pertaining to my husbands passing were taken care of. During this time there was a letter sent to my husband from *** stating there is an uncashed check sent to him and would he like for them to reissue a new check. I responded to them that my husband had passed and the check would be related to one of my surgeries and to please reissue so I can forward to the appropriate party and that my husband ***. *** had passed on 4/25/18 (which at the time I had no idea who the check was meant for). When I came home after 3 weeks rehab I received a telephone call from "Lynn" from "Amerassist the billing division of *** Physician's". I explained to her that I am waiting for a reissue check and once I receive it I will forward to them (assuming I am speaking with someone from the BILLING DEPT of *** NOT a Collection Agency. I then received a letter from *** that they need a copy of my husbands death certificate and short form so that they can reissue the check to his Estate - which I sent all requested paperwork. I then contacted "Lynn" to tell her the current status. A couple weeks later "Lynn" contacts me again representing herself as a billing agent for *** inquiring on the status of the check, I informed her I had not received it yet (this happened 2 times). I finally receive the reissued check from *** made payable to my husbands Estate. I deposited the check, called and left a message on "Lynn's" voice mail letting her know I received the check and to whom and where do I forward a check too. Never heard from her. 9/4/18 I received a call from Sadie of the Billing Dept of *** Physician's (which "Lynn had always represented herself as being a part of their Billing Dept, not a collections agency). I tell Sadie I am so glad she called because I have the check and I need to know where to send it to.and I will include copies of the check from the Insurance o. so they can see exactly how much they had sent. Sadie proceeds to give me an address etc. and I mailed the check to the Billing Dept of *** Physician's on 9/5/18 at 2:30 am at a Postal Box 2 blocks from my home (I walked my husbands dog with me).. I'm feeling clear and good that this is now over with, one last thing in my head. Yesterday I get a phone call from "Lynn" (mind you always coming up as private on my caller ID), I tell her how I mailed the check to the Billing Dept. in Birmingham Alabama. She proceeds to tell me I am a liar and she never believed me (mind you I do suffer from PTSD due to the circumstances of my husbands suicide and how I am fortunate to be alive and not a murder/suicide). Yes, my headed started spinning and I could not think right to locate the check, address, etc. to inform "Lynn" of where I sent the check to - Remember a date of service had never been given to me, I never received paperwork from Amerassist AR Solutions, always called from a "Private" Number". I asked t speak with her Supervisor. The Supervisor Patrica "C***" gets on the phone and could not have been any ruder, or so I thought. I called my Mother on my cell phone in a panic telling her to get over here now....While "Patricia" mocks me, informing others that "Oh she's makin' demands on her Mother now'".....She proceeds to tell me that I don't pay my bills anyway and she'll just have to give *** & *** another phone call. I didn't understand who/what she meant by *** & ***g then it hit me, they are my deceased husbands estranged brothers (my husband had not spoken with his family in 23 years). She proceeded to tell me how they don't like me and they had plenty to say about me. I told her my husband hadn't spoken to his biological family in 23 years, what the *** was she doing calling them. I was then asked then why were they included in his obituary - I said because I am a decent human being and how dare she ask me that. I was called stupid liar because I do not know how to access banking via the computer and as I was giving this Supervisor Patricia the name & phone number of the banker assisting me my Mother stopped me and took the phone. With my Mother on the phone with her, I was able to compile myself and the paperwork which included the carbon of the check I had written from the Estate Account, address the check was sent to, account number, etc. All this time, from my very first communications with "Lynn" & "Patrica" they lead me to believe they were from the Billing Dept of *** Physicians......Until 20 minutes into my Mothers conversation with Patricia, she asked.."Wait a minute, exactly who are you...Are you a debt collector...Give me your full name and phone number"....at this point Patricia hung up on my Mother. The things that were said by these people were cruel & heartless...Not to mention unprofessional and extremely deceptive!!! I was able to locate a phone number for the Billing Dept of *** and spoke with "Sadie" who could not have been a nicer, professional, compassionate person. After I explained to her what had just happened and that I don't know who it was that called me on 9/4/18, she let me know it was her, she then proceeded to explain to me about the account from 12/15 & 12/16/2016. Sadie explained to me step by step what needed to be done in reference to the 12/15 & 12/16/2016 bills. Which I have followed what she has told me to do and I have reported back to one of her associates the outcome for today and additional investigation is being done and I am waiting to hear back from my husbands banker as the checks had been cashed, but *** is unable to verify by whom. In the meantime on 4/3/2018 long before I had any contact with "Lynn" from Amerassist they had placed a Hard Inquiry on my credit (which would explain why Patricia informed me yesterday that I was being taken down). I want this Hard Inquiry removed from my credit report. I have NO paperwork from them, I only have phone calls from a "Private Number" from "Lynn" who represented herself as from the Billing Dept of ***. For some reason I had to get a credit report on myself and that is when I discovered the Hard Inquiry. I have contacted and filed a complaint with the Consumer Protection Bureau (to discover Amerassist AR Solutions) is not new to them) and I was advised to contact Equifax, Experian & Trans Union to report and have Amerassist AR Solutions Hard Inquiry removed from my credit records. Equifax has complied, Trans Union has a red flag should they be contacted by Amerassist AR Solutions but Experian can only remove the Hard Inquiry by request of Amerassist AR Solutions, not even by request of *** Physicians which is whom Amerassist is acting on behalf of.

Amerassist has ceased all collection activity on this debt and is requesting that the credit bureaus delete the trade line for this debt.

Amerassist is attempting to collect a bill that has been written off as closed/paid by the original company. They refuse to close the account and continue trying to attempt to collect an invalid account.

I went for a MRI for a scan due to a injury that happened at work. Then I receive a bill a year later from this company, AmerAssist that I owe money on a bill. The worker's comp department for my school district did give them a check and I was told by worker comp that since this a work related injury they (AmerAssist) can not ask me to pay the reminder, since this is a workmen's comp case. I called the company to talk to my adjuster for the school district if they have any further questions.

Gentlemen:I am in receipt of your notice claiming the amount of $66.12 due to The
Greener Cleaner for cleaning services. This matter has been blown way out of
proportion due to failed communications between the claimant and the
undersigned.I took in two shirts for cleaning back in November 2017. When the
claimant returned the shirts to me, one had additional stains that were not
present when I brought them in for cleaning. I took the damaged shirt back in
and the claimant said they would try to remove the stains. Unfortunately, they
were unable to do so. In December, they returned the damaged shirt to me with
the attached explanation and noting a credit of $7.90.I have heard nothing from the claimant until receiving your notice
dated 06/05/18 requesting payment of $66.12! Considering that the shirt in question was worth considerably more than
$7.90, I believed that the claimant had written off the charges which were
about $16 for two shirts.I do not feel responsible for payment of this amount and suggest that
you take it up with The Greener Cleaner for resolution.Very truly yours,Lynn OEncs.

received a call in regards to a debt. I explained to them I could not pay the whole thing and she said we can take half of the payment now. I explained to her that I wanted to do a settlement. she sounded angry stating I couldn't do that that the creditor wants all the money. she said that they cannot do that I told them do you have something in writing explaining that she said no they have no policy in writing. I don't understand how a business does not have policy or procedures in writing. the freedom of information act allows us to request whatever information someone may need. they were very rude and did not want to help me.

A rehabilitation facility I had been at for three and a half weeks sent me a bil four months after my discharge for my last two days on the grounds that my insurance would not pay for custodial care, since these were weekend days when they do not offer physical therapy on weekends. Their business manager refused to make a claim even though I contacted the insurer twice, explained my situation and was told I was covered. Rather than resolving this dispute with me they sent the bill to AmerAssist, who have been hounding me for months by mail, phone and even robocalls with no one at their end when I pick up the phone. The facility was eventually persuaded to file an insurance claim, which was denied solely on the basis of their long delay. I received a statement from the insurer saying I was not responsible for paying this bill, a copy of which I sent to the facility, the president of the company that owns the facility and AmerAssist, yet they continue to call me and are quite nasty.

Amerassist A/R Solutions Response • Jun 05, 2018

As General Counsel for Amerassist A/R Solutions, Inc., I have been asked to reply to the Complaint filed with your office by ***. Ms *** refused to pay the creditor Maywood Center for a $790.00 balance due on a total bill of over $26,000.00. Her insurance carrier paid the balance. The insurance company would not pay this remaining $790.00 and the creditor referred the debt to Amerassist for collection. While Ms *** states that her insurance company told her she did not have to pay this balance, there is no indication in Amerassist's files to support this assertion. There is a notice from the insurance company related to a $480.00 bill but that amount has a different date of service.

All verification of the debt was provided to Ms *** on 2/7/18. If Ms *** provides me with a letter from her insurer stating that the $790.00 is not payable by her, we will re-contact the creditor and cease all collection activities while that issue is resolved.

Customer Response • Jun 19, 2018

Dear Mr.I was notified today by the Revdex.com that my complaint concerning AmerAssist was closed because I had not replied to you. Unfortunately, I had not seen this message from them until today and so was unaware that you had responded to my complaint. But after having received that threatening letter from you on behalf of AmerAssist I sent you or them a copy of Maywood Center's original bill for $790.00 and of Aetna's statement giving the reason for their denial of the claim, which was not that I was not covered for the two days for which I was being billed but that the claim was sent too late. It also said that I was not responsible for this payment. I had tried repeatedly to get Maywood Center's business manager to submit the claim to Aetna after they told me by phone that they had never received a claim and that it should be made, but she stubbornly refused to do that until when she finally did it was too late. Why should I be penalized, especially when the rehabilitation Aetna had already paid so much for was a joke compared with my experience elsewhere after an injury?

Amerassist A/R Solutions Response • Jun 19, 2018

I certainly understand your frustration but neither I nor Amerassist can force Maywood Center to reply to you. You will need to continue your efforts directly with the creditor and insurance company.I would like to point out that the letter I sent to you was not, and cannot be interpreted as, threating as my letter states that I would not be taking legal action against you.Philip B. W

On December 2, 2017, I received a letter from AmerAssist stating that I owed a dental practice over $227.28. On the back of the letter it explained how I could dispute this debt and request for more information to be sent. On December 8, 2017, I sent them a Validation of Debt letter asking them to send as follows:

• Agreement with your client that grants you the authority to collect on this alleged debt.
• Agreement that bears the signature of the alleged debtor wherein *** agreed to pay the creditor.
• Any insurance claims been made by any creditor regarding this account.
• Any Judgments obtained by any creditor regarding this account.
• Name and address of alleged creditor.
• Name on file of alleged debtor.
• Alleged account number.
• Address on file for alleged debtor.
• Amount of alleged debt.
• Date this alleged debt became payable.
• Date of original charge off or delinquency.
• Verification that this debt was assigned or sold to collector.
• Complete accounting of alleged debt.
• Commission for debt collector if collection efforts are successful.

They have not sent me any of the information requested above that is by law my right to receive in order to proceed with this matter. They never sent more validation on this debt, but continued to harass me through letters stating the same thing from the first letter and saying that I have ignored previous attempts to collect debt from the above listed creditor. Which is false, because I sent them a Validation of Debt within the 30 day guideline requesting for more information. Then on the bottom of this letter they insinuate a threat stating that this will lead to additional costs and further proceedings. This letter was sent to me early to mid January of 2018. Before that letter, they sent me another one stating that their client would accept a lower payment of $113.64, but nothing else that I asked for above in my letter. I also stated in the letter:

" If your offices fail to respond to this validation request within 30 days from the date of your receipt, all references to this account must be deleted and completely removed from my credit file and a copy of such deletion request
shall be sent to me immediately. "

It's been past 30 days since I requested this information and they have not sent me a response to that letter and instead sent me two more harassing letters. Which is also a violation, because during the time frame of me waiting for a response they are not harass me about this debt. So, I called in to AmerAssist on January 30, 2018 to the extension they gave me in the multiple letters I received and it didn't work. So I wasn't able to speak with Marianne K. Instead I spoke with a woman named Mrs.D***, she wouldn't give me her first name, and she was very rude and abusive. She put me on hold in the middle of our conversation stating that I was upset when I was very calm and without my permission. I just wanted to know why they were still harassing me since I sent a Validation of Debt and I'm waiting on a response. She told me that they sent a response on December 28, 2017 and that wasn't the truth. What they sent me on that date was a statement that the client was willing to lower the debt. It did not have all of the information I requested. She continued to badger me, wouldn't listen to anything I said, and was very condescending. I told her how unprofessional she was acting and she told me she was being very professional. She insinuated that I didn't deserve more validation on this debt even though it is my right to receive it and asked, "Are you really trying to say you've never been there?" It was so disrespectful, unprofessional and demeaning. She also threatened on the phone that further actions will be taken. I told her I never received a response to my letter and she claimed they did send it. She said they couldn't re-mail it to me and that they could only fax it. I let her know that I didn't have a fax number and she wouldn't move on re-sending this letter they allegedly sent me that I never received. Also, in my letter I told them to give me 30 days upon receipt of the response to the letter to investigate the information and see if the debt is mine. Then if the debt was mine I would pay it and if it wasn't I would either get a lawyer involved or explain further that I am not to pay this debt. But since it's been past 30 days all references to this account must be deleted. I have previously filed a complaint against Amerassist to the CFPB. Mr. W response was dismissive, inaccurate, and failed to provide documents that he stated in his response. The case was closed and the problem still has not been resolved. I still have not received validity of this debt, they have been hostile every time I contact them, and have been very unprofessional.

I received a letter from AmerAssist about a pending balance for a medical bill. I contacted the office to make payment arrangements and spoke with Mrs Kara G. After requesting to make payment arrangments Mrs Kara told me that AmerAssist would not make payment arrangments and that they will only take full payment. I explained that due to my daughter's high amount of medical bills I needed to make payment arrangements. She then told me that my account was in a limbo and that if I wanted to make payments I could start making them but that someone would call me to see how could the debt be settled. Nobody has contacted me; however, I have set weekly payments towards the account. I understand there is a pending debt and I called to ensure it is taken care of but demands of payment in full and refusal to work payment arrangements is not what it is expected from a collection agency. I need to ensure that this company acknoledge my calls and my advisement of weekly payments set to ensure balance is paid within a reasonable time frame and under my economical situation

Amerassist A/R Solutions Response

As General Counsel for Amerassist A/R Solutions, Inc., I have been asked to reply to the Complaint filed with your office by ***.

Amerassist's contractual arrangement with the Creditor contains two Phases. During Phase 1, letters are mailed to the debtor. During that phase, Amerassist does not have the authority form the Creditor to accept partial payments. When partial payments are made, they are forwarded to the Creditor.

During phase 2, telephone calls are made to the debtor and Amerassist has more flexibility to accept settlements or payment plans.

Since Ms *** was in Phase 1, no formal payment plan could be arranged. This process is common in the collection industry.

On behalf of Amerassist, I apologize for any inconvenience this process has caused Ms ***.

Sincerely,

Philip B. W

Customer Response

I received a letter stating that payment arrangements could be made and when I called to set payment arragements the office from your company told me that this was not possible and that I had to contact the Doctor's office and se eif they will accept any payment arrangements.

My payments are still being send on a weekly basis but it is unfortunately that if the procedure is to accept payment arrangements your employees are still refusing to assist with them

Amerassist A/R Solutions Response

Amerassist just received the second payment from Mrs. and has received permission from the Creditor to formally accept monthly payments. So long as the payments are made each month, no further collection activities will be undertaken.

Customer Response

I reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID, and find the resolution is satisfactory to me.

My dad was in the hospital due to a stroke. He transferred into a rehab facility for therapy. Although my father was in his right mind, he was unable to sign his name on a particular document stating, that his stay at the rehab would cost him a percentage of money out of pocket. At the time of the discussion, my dad, sister and nursing home staff were present. They explained to us that we can apply for medicaid but that it may take some time to kick in. My dad was unable to sign his signature and was asked Mr. XXX can you sign or do you want your daughter to sign? He said, she can sign for me. I then went to sign and asked should I write his name or mine? The rep said you can sign your name and I did. Well, after he was discharged I began getting letters at my apartment for my dad and I called and told him. I spoke with the Amer Assist rep to inform them that they had the wrong address and contact person. I am only my father's health care proxy. The rep told me that I was listed as his power of attorney which I am not. My dad is more than capable of handling his own bills and have always done so. I provided the rep with his phone number and address. The rep called him on his phone to set up payment arrangements . My dad asked for a bill or letter indicating the payment agreement. The rep said he had to pay by credit or debit card which my dad does not have. He said he would sent in money orders but the refused money orders. When I received another letter , I called and asked the Amer Assist rep to stop calling me because the debt is not mine but my dad's. The rep informed me that since my name was on the bill they couldn't change it. I said well why did you call him and why did you send a letter to his house? Basically, they are acknowledging that they spoke to him, and are sending notices to his address. The rep said that I will still get notices sent to my apartment. I am very frustrated and so is my dad. My dad wants to pay the agreed payment amount of 107.00 monthly and have been saving the money since he set up the arrangement in August 2017. The rep refuse to provide us with an agreement letter and an address to send payment to. Please tell me how should we handle this matter. The rep I have from Amer Assist is very argumentive.

AR solutions notified Credit agencies that I was in for collection. When they were told NOT to put me in for collection by the client. *** I called DDS he instructed them to remove any and ALL collection alerts to Credit agencies. AR solutions is unethical and a scam. Beware!

Amerassist A/R Solutions Response • Jan 12, 2018

As Attorney for Amerassist A/R Solutions, I have been asked to reply to the Complaint filed with your office by ***.

Initially, I would like to apologize for my delay in responding. While I did have Amerassist investigate this Complaint, I neglected to inform your office or Mr. of the results of that investigation.

Mr. was making monthly payments to Dr. ***, but neither the Doctor nor Mr. informed Amerassist of that fact.

Amerassist confirmed that Mr. was making regular monthly payment and Dr. *** asked that collection activities cease, which was done. In October, 2017.Amerassist requested that the credit bureaus remove this item from Mr. credit file.

Sincerely,

Philip B. W

Amerassist A/R Solutions Response

As General Counsel for Amerassist A/R Solutions, Inc., I have been asked to reply to the Review submitted by "Kevin f" Amerassist does not have enough information to investigate the allegation that it took his funds and did not pay them over to the creditor. This is a completely false accusation as I have represented Amerassist since its inception and it has never before been accused of theft.
