AMERI-PEST Pest Control Services Reviews (18)

We have been utilizing the services of AmeriPest for over a year. We wanted a "pet-friendly" treatment as we have an indoor cat. When Bob came to our home to explain the service it was exactly what we wanted. The person who managed our treatment was efficient and polite. About 6 months ago was had a "massive" infestation of carpenter ants in our attic. They came out as promised and treated the entire attic as well as perimeter of the house. Happy to report not a single ant has been observed since!
We are happy to recommend AmeriPest!

Not showing up for scheduled appiontments, not returning my calls, not treating the entirer areas of my home and yard, billing for service not done yet.
Aug.8th Owner(Bob *** promise me that I would not see any more ants afther 2 to 3 treatments, he was late for this appointment. Started Aug.11 no show for appointment left messages and no return call. Had back out Aug 18 finally trearted inside and out.Over and over again calling them out trying to get them treart the entirer perimeter of my house inside and out.Only keep on spot spray, ants just move over. Told them if you can't control the ants in my yard from coming in I'll never get raid of them in the inside my home. Every time I called(Melody) would addressed me to as lady with ant problem.September 8 scheduled appointment is a no show and again called left message and no return call. Finally get one tech (Leslie) to treat my house inside and out. By adding bait to all sockets, put extra bait traps to go under furniture and spay the entire perimeter of my home. Request for her to do my house but she was fired after that. Feb.6 (Crocket) rang door bell put yard peg at end of drive way and was getting into his truck to leave, notice me got out. (I only was putting dog up). Was trying to get out off doing lawn care said didn't have a work order for it but would do it any way. Asked him were Leslie was he told me she was fired. Billing me for services that I have not received yet. Ameri-Pest is unprofessional on how they talk to customers and always making excuses for their mistakes. My time is just as important and I loss time off for work to be there. Owner promise me no more than 3 times out wouldn't see any ants, that was a lie. Over six months later still ant problem. What have I been paying for, a service I didn't receive.

Desired Outcome

The problem is with sugar ant, they call big headed ants, firer ants and crazy ants. They have not been able to take care of for me. This is not a carpenter ant or termite problem. They didn't stand up to they part of the contact. I have giving up with them in February tried of fighting with them. Some kind of reimbursement.

AMERI-PEST Pest Control Services Response • May 03, 2019

I apologize if any of our employees made Ms. uncomfortable or were rude to her. That is not how we run our business. Back in February Ms. sent a letter on her statement to cancel her services. Noting company policy, I responded with a letter to Ms. explaining that the agreement she signed in August of 2018 was for a year. At that time she still had one Pest Control service and two Lawn Care services scheduled. Ms. continued on with the services. I have attached all service tickets from the beginning of her agreement.
We would like to compromise with Ms. by not charging her the remainder of the services which would be $127.00 and cancelling her agreement effective immediately. We wish Ms. well and hope this will be satisfactory to her.

Services agreed to were not fulfilled and payment for services done by third party were not paid
In November of 2018 I noticed that my lawn was turning brown in many places, I contacted Ameripest spoke with Melody, they sent out their new technician Patrick and I was advised that the previous technician had used too much of some chemical. I was told by Melody after contacting them again for a resolution, that Mr. agreed that Ameripest would replace damaged sod when weather permitted. She also asked if I could arrange for my landscaper to remove the damaged lawn because they did not have equipment. My landscaper agreed to remove the damaged portion and said he would also install the new sod. I called again at the beginning of March and they sent out Patrick the Technician to measure and mark where the replacement sod should go, I even bought a can of paint so he could do so. My landscaper removed portions where marked and I submitted invoice for removal and to install new sod. I was told that Mr. said the cost was too high and that they would install new sod, however, would come up with a price to pay for the removal of the damaged lawn. On April 8, Patrick their technician came with sod, but, was not enough to cover the marked area. After calling and talking to Melody later on in the day if Patrick was coming back with the additional sod, I was told that they were going to have a meeting on Tuesday April 9 to discuss. I was told today April 10 by Melody after calling them once again for the status, that they provided more than enough sod based on the original pictures, even though their tech marked off the clearing, they were not paying my landscaper for the removal or providing any more sod to finish the job and Mr. was going to contact me. I have not heard from him. I advised them that I was going to file a complaint. I have been with Ameripest for 5 years. While I trusted them to make good for the damage.

Desired Outcome

I would like Ameripest to compensate my landscaper for the removal of the damaged lawn which was marked by their technician and for reimbursement to me the sod I have to purchase and install to finish the job.

Ameripest has not provided any lawn service since January.

I would like them to send me an additional check in the amount of $72.33 which they originally agreed to.

I would also like this to be authorization to terminate all future services for lawn and pest , they have not been honest with me and I can no longer do business with them.

AMERI-PEST Pest Control Services Response • May 16, 2019

At this point I can offer Ms. a credit for her lawn service that is due this month @ $52.00 and then give her a partial credit of her July service of $31.77 which will equal the remainder of the original $300.00.

Billed for services either done inadequately or not received at all.
We have used Ameripest for almost 3 years for a termite bond and to treat the home/lawn for insects. Between the time of July through September they came to my residents multiple to treat the lawn and were ineffective. We called to let them know we would be canceling on Friday August 31 of 2018 and to make sure to not allow them to come to treat our lawn again and charge us again for a service that is ineffective. Melody assured me that she would make sure that the technician would not revisit our house. The following Tuesday the technician came out and again sprayed our lawn when we were not home.
When my husband called to talk to them about what had happened and they told him that they received my cancellation email and we would not be billed. We have since then gotten harassing letters and bills for that service stating that if we did not pay the 52 dollars they would send it to collections. Now it is January 2019 and they have sent us another bill for a termite renewal inspection that they claim to have done but haven't stepped foot in my home to do. Again they are threatening collections for services either not received (Termite Renewal Inspection) or done inadequately (the lawn ant treatment). We had left a message for the owner to call or come to our home so we could show him how ineffective his ant treatment is on our lawn but never heard from him.

Desired Outcome

Cancel all services including termite bond. Take off charges of 52 dollars for inadequate lawn service for ants. Take off charges of 263 dollars for a termite renewal service you never preformed.

Services agreed to in the contract were not performed. Cause a dangerous condition within my home.
After making it abundantly clear that I have medically fragile premature twins as well as a curious 5 year old your tech proceeded to spray a pest control solution in and around my home forcing us to leave the home for a period of 2 hours and consequently having to pay a cleaning company to wipe my baseboards and shampoo my carpets in an effort to make my home safe for my children. On the next visit from a tech I was informed that the tech whom did the initial baiting was no longer working for the company and was currently involved in litigation with your company for many things some of which include improperly baiting homes to erode customer satisfaction with Ameri-Pest. This happened in my home as I was informed by your tech that there were insufficient baits in my home, meaning they were not every 15 feet or every wall. The same tech attempted to bait the walls to make up for this error and she herself left 2 outlet wall plates unsecured and laying face up on the floor with exposed bait. My 5 year old daughter brought my wife one such wall plate, she could have ingested this and become violently ill or much worse. It is for these reasons that I wish to speak with the owner of your company and am seeking a full refund for my contracted fees and the current contract cancelled.

Desired Outcome

Termination of contract and full refund of money paid to date.

Contracted with American-pest to seal house from rodents. They did not complete the job as contracted.
My mother owns a home in Merritt Island, Fl. She is elderly and lives in Marietta, GA now. I am in charge of keeping her home here in Merritt Island livable and in good shape. In December of last year we contracted with Ameri-pest to seal the house and trap rats that were present for $1250. We came back in town a few days ago and I saw that the roof gable vents were not sealed as per our contract. Also, I believe they broke a folding door in the kitchen, because it is right below the stairs into the attic. Our overseer of the house is in the process of fixing it to the tune of $300. But, I have no proof they did it and the technician said he did not break the door. I have contacted the company and asked for $600 back for the work that was not done thinking that was a fair solution to our complaint. The manager will not let me talk to the owner and has talked to the technician who has promised her to give photos of the work to prove that it was done. I have yet to see the photos and the manager continues to stonewall me. I believe they know the work was not done due to the fact that we were not there to inspect or confirm the work completed. I have tried for three days to talk to the owner, but he refuses to talk to me and hear my side of the story. I am sorry we ever agreed to do business with this company. Never again.

Desired Outcome

A refund of $600 for work that was not completed. I believe this is a fair settlement. My mother is in hospice care in Georgia and could very much use the money for her care. I don't want a total refund, because there is evidence that some work was done, but not the entire job.

AMERI-PEST
Termite and Lawn Care
"One Call Does It All"

April 6th, 2018

To whom it may concern,

*** has been a customer of Ameri_-Pest since 2007 for Pest Control and Termite Prevention, without any issues or problems.
ln November of 2017, our office received a call from Mr. Michael***, Mrs. son, asking us to come out to his mother's home because he thinks they have rats in the house.
On November 28, 2017, I went to Mrs. house and met with Michael. At that time, he described what they were seeing and hearing. I proceeded to do an inspection of the structure and verified that they did, indeed, have rats in the home. l explained my findings to Mr.. I told him that we would set traps to eliminate the rodents. Additionally, I advised him that we would do any necessary repairs to exclude further rodent entry. We did just that over the next two (2) months and eliminated the rodents. Subsequently, we repaired entry points. On March 29, 2018, our office received a call from Michael***. He stated that we never completed the rodent exclusion. He also expressed that he wanted his money back. Contrary to what Mr. Revdex.com complaint states, our office manager, Melody Duguid did receive his call and spoke with him. She notated his complaint and advised him that she would contact me and that l would return his call. She relayed to me that Mr. was very belligerent and was "out of control" screaming at her for the entirety of the conversation. I returned Mr. call on that same day, March 29, 2018, to speak with him about his complaint. We also exchanged several text messages that day, as well. Therefore, the part about my office manager "stonewalling" him is completely false.

During this conversation, Mr. repeatedly told me that he had one of our competitors come to his mother's house to check on the quality of our work. He stated that that company told him that our work was 'shoddy' and that they would do a much bettejob. (Of course they would likely say this, as they wanted his business.) We offer a one (1) year guarantee with this service. So, instead of calling us back to come out and try to rectify the problem, he said that he contracted with this alleged competitor " to finish the job that (we) didn't do". He stated how he had to pay them $600.00 to do those repairs. I asked Mr. several times during this conversation who this alleged competitor was and exactly what did they say that we didn't do. He repeatedly stated that one of the gable end vents did not get screened. I asked Mr. several times if he had seen any rat activity since they had returned to the house. After asking him this for the third time, he finally answered "No", that he does not see any rat activity now. l told Mr. that I would send one of our technicians to the home on that afternoon, March 29, 2018. l informed him that they would do any repairs that he felt were necessary. Upon the arrival of our technician, Mr. was very uncooperative and would not allow the technician to go in the attic. Our technician told Mr. that he would do all of the repairs right then. Mr. said "No, I just want my money back because l paid too much, anyway." We have done everything that we can to please Mr.. We will continue to honor the one (1) year guarantee until its expiration, November 2018.

Best regards,
Robert B

Customer Response • Apr 06, 2018

(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
I do not accept the response from this business, because there are many false statements in the response from the owner, Mr. B. It is true that we contracted with Ameri-pest to rid us of rats. I paid $1250 from my mother's account to have them trap and seal the house so no more rats could get in the structure. The dates cited by Mr. B are correct. When I arrived at the home in March, 2018 I noticed that the gable vents, all 6 of them, were still open and not sealed. Later that day I had another wildlife company come out to attempt to trap a raccoon on our property and seal up the area under our pool. The owner of this company then told me that I still had numerous holes in my home open for rats to enter and they would seal them for free, because of our business agreement concerning the raccoons. Since I had paid a lot of money for the Ameri-pest service out of my Mother's account I was hoping to get a portion returned. Mr. B is correct in that to my knowledge our home is rat free. Therefore, since that was the case I hoped to get a refund for $600 (not all my money back) from the company, because they did not do what I had contracted them to do. Eradicate the rats (which they did) and seal the house to prevent anymore rats from coming in (they didn't do). The final decision from Mr. B was that he had fulfilled his contractual responsibility and that I was not going to get any refund for work not completed. Here are the untruths in his letter to you. One, I was not belligerent with his office manager, Melodie, and in fact apologized to her once for having to be in the middle of the exchange between me and Mr. B. I was never "out of control" screaming at her. Never. Two, I never stated I had paid another company $600 for the repairs. That is false. It is a number I came up with that I thought was fair considering the fact that they didn't do the entire job. Three, I was very cooperative with the technician they sent out the afternoon of March 29, 2018. He never asked to go into the attic. If he had, I would have let him. He never did. Their own technician stated to me that his work order said to eradicate rats or words to that effect. He called the office in my presence and whoever took the call said that the original work order I had signed back in 2017 stated that they would close up all the holes rats could use to infest the house. So, their own technician was telling me that they did not give him the entire picture of work required in the original contract. I respectfully request Ameri-pest surrender to the Revdex.com the original work order agreed upon by myself and Mr. B and compare it to the work order given their technician and compare the two documents. At the close of my conversation the technician said that he could come back to do the work. I stated that I did not want their company to do the work; just the $600 I requested to be given back to me. Later I received a text from Mr. B that he stated once again that the house was rat free and that he had lived up to the contract. I accepted his text and told him that I may have evidence of rats and would he come out himself and inspect. I then got a call from Melodie scheduling a different technician to come and see if we had evidence of rats and to help trap them. The appointment was scheduled for Monday, April 2, at 11 am I believe. My mother suddenly passed away early Sunday morning, April 1, and we had to leave the house in Florida and return to Atlanta, Georgia. I left a message for the Ameri-pest team on their phone (they have no e-mail addresses listed on their website) and had to cancel the appointment. I respectfully request the Revdex.com check and see if we did indeed have an appointment on April 2, 2018. Since Mr. B had said he would honor the guarantee I wanted someone to come out and see if we had another infestation of rats in our home. If I was so belligerent and so set on Ameri-pest not doing any more work in my Mother's home why would I have made and accepted another appointment with this company to come out and confirm there are no rats? Also, I had paid $754 out of my Mother's account for termite inspection and an annual pest control application. I informed Mr. B that I wanted to cancel the termite contract and the pest control contract. He accepted and said he would refund the money. This has been about a week ago and I have yet to receive the check. Frankly, (since I am dealing with the death of my mother) after I received my money from the cancelled Termite and Pest control contract I would have gone peacefully into the night and never had contact with Mr. B or Ameri-pest ever again. I had intended to contact the Department of Agriculture, but was not going to do so since we had a technician from Ameri-pest coming out to inspect our home. But with so many discrepancies in their response I feel I had no choice, but to state my side of this disagreement. I want to thank the Revdex.com for their due diligence in this matter. My only request now is to get the $754 we sent to Ameri-pest for my Termite and annual pest control returned to my dead mother's account. Thank you.

To whom it may concern,

l am very saddened to hear about the passing of Mrs.. We had a very good relationship with her throughout the years and we will miss her.

Having lost both of my parents several years ago, I can sympathize with Mr. and understand his confusion over this situation since he had more important things to worry about.

I do stand by my response to the original complaint as everything that was stated was accurate and taken from our records.

I do nd it very interesting that Mr. admits that we completed thejob (he has no more rats) but then states that we didn't complete the job.

As for Mr. threat to call the Department of Agriculture, he was speaking of the Termite Treatment we did on his mother's house. In his opinion he didn't think we did a proper treatment. There was no reason given for his opinion. The Termite Treatment was done on the home 11 (Eleven) years ago.

Ameri-Pest is ready and willing to honor the one year agreement with Mr.. We were ready to do so when he canceled his last appointment. Mr. may contact our office at anytime and we will make an appointment at his convenience.

Mr. was sent a refund of $754.00 for the Termite Bond Renewal & Pest Control Renewal over a week ago to the address in Georgia that he provided.

Best regards,

Robert B

(The consumer indicated he/she ACCEPTED the response from the business.)
I accept the proposed resolution submitted by Mr. B. I supplied a copy of the original contract to the Revdex.com showing that we were charged $750 for sealing of our attic vents against rats. This was not completed by Ameri-pest and there was no refund of the money we paid. We paid $750 for nothing. I now see any further pursuit of a refund would be fruitless. If we see evidence of rats in our home in the future I will not call Ameri-pest. Even though we still have approximately six months left on our contract I don't trust them. I have lost faith in this company and have cancelled all my services with them. I recommend to anyone reading this that you steer clear of Ameri-pest. I would like once again to thank the Revdex.com for their due diligence in this matter.

Best regards,
Robert B

He called the office in my presence and whoever took the call said that the original work order I had signed back in 2017 stated that they would close up all the holes rats could use to infest the house. they refuse to fulfill the 1 yr.guarantee as stated on my contract
I have made 4 phone calls to try to resolve my request for return service call to place out traps for return of armadillo damage and was told they only guarantee 1 yr if is for inside damage. however my contract reads YARD in section stated wildlife exclusion program--1 yr. guarantee (all in caps!) my contract will run to January 30,2018 I was told they would speak to the owner and get back to me; however that was on December 15 and have not heard from them.

Desired Outcome

honor contract terms for 1 year guarantee and return to put out traps

Ms. had a contract that was for Trapping and Armadillo on her property. We went to the property a total of 20 times between February 03, 2017 and June 02, 2017. We did not hear from her again until December 13, 2017. She called to say there were more Armadillos in her yard. I pointed out to Ms. that the 1 year guarantee was for Exclusions as far as repairing any damage to the home. She disagreed. We had our technician out to her property yesterday, January 08, 2018 to place traps. We will be going at least every other day from now to the end of March. Her original agreement would have ended December 31st , 2017.

contract date ran to January 31,2018., and read to return for 1 year (guarantee ) stated in writing on contract. they need not return as often as past unless an animal is trapped or holes dug elsewhere in greater distance from cage placement. currently trap is in rear yard and at times numerous holes have been dug in mulched area in front of house only 15 feet from front door! I greatly appreciate their return in hopes of trapping this critter
