I contacted Ameri-tech on Sunday, July 3rd due to having no hot waterAfter leaving a message with the attendant at their call center, Rodney returned my callI explained that we had no hot water and when I looked at the display, based on the lights showing and what the key showed in the owner's manual, the ECO was activated and a the gas release valve needed to be replacedHe instructed me to power off the unit and turn back on to see if that would help, if not to call backHe let me know that since it was Sunday, it would be time and half ($per hour) for a tech to come out to the houseAfter a couple of hours, the reset did not result in hot water returning so I called Rodney back and left a message for himRodney did not return my call, instead Jim (tech) called back for my addressWhich I providedWhen Jim arrived at our home, I reviewed what I discussed with Rodney with regards to the codeJim apologized for not having asked when he called about whether it was throwin

Yes that is true they did send us an Invoice for the parts only which we paid and then we had another issue. On January 1st (New Year's Day) we woke up to NO HEAT again. We were both sick on New Years and could not go a whole day with no heat so we had no choice but to call for service. My wife has Bronchitis and I have the Flu
So now we are in negotations again in reference to this bill. We are frustrated because if they had listened to us last year in February and replaced the heater as we kept asking them we would not be in this predicament. I understand they said they were trying to save us money but in the long run it is costing us more money. Below is a copy of the e-mail Rodney sent to us and the response I sent back to him on 1/10/

***,The cost for the service call is hours @ holiday rate which is $so thebill will be $for the laborI will not charge you for the part heput on because it was replaced last February.If you buy the furnace I will split the cost of the service call with youwhich would make it $...that should be fair.The one year parts and labor is on the equipment and does not covermaintenance, so you would still need the service contract .The drywall we will try to patch it the best we can so it looks decent ...itjust won't be painted or spackled.Once you sign the contract and put the deposit down , we order the furnaceand should take about a week to get Then we will call you the followingweek to schedule an install date the installation should take a day toget the heat back on and the next day to follow up with any loose ends.Any more questions please let me knowThanks Rodney R***
Here is what I sent to Rodney on 1/10/15:
Rodney, it was a pleasure to meet you and I appreciate what you are trying to do to help us with the heater, however I think you need to re-access the charges for Jan 1,2015.If the equipment was installed in February why should we have had to call again for the same problem in less than a year.If your service men had listened to us last year when we had them out times in less than weeks we would have never been in this situation to have to call on a holiday and we would have had a new heater installed alreadyYou stated they were trying to save us money in the long run it has cost us more than saved us money.Karl was on the phone with you, Jim and another technician in the time he was in our homeHe was back & forth to the truck talking on the phone and not working on the heaterI am not trying to be nasty in any way but I should not be responsible for the time he spent talking to you on the phoneHe was here from 10:20am to 12:30pm and probably only worked on the furnace for about hourHe aslo told me he only lived only the mountain and it took him about minutes to get here so I think you need to check your statsThere is no way we should be responsible for hours when at the most we should be bill for hoursI feel that $to $is a fair price for the labor performed.We do not have the funds at this time and do not want to go a whole day with no heat as my wife & I have been sick for the past weeks so we will wait till spring to replace the heater of course that is if the parts you have had replaced again do not fail as the previous ones did.I have dealt with your company for a long time now and have already signed and paid for another year's contract so I would appreciate you re-accessing the Invoice and get back to me with a better price for the labor done on January 1,2015.Thank you*** ***
