The pool table was referenced by Mrs*** in the complaint, and was at times compared to the safe in question. These items have completely different circumstances, and should not be used in this complaint for comparison purposes. Mrs*** asked Shane if we could move the pool
table - the answer to that question was yes, provided that the pool table was disassembled by others and reassembled by others. Mrs*** found an alternative option to have another company disassemble the pool table, move it for her, and reassemble it. We did not decline to move the pool table, we declined to disassemble/reassemble it. Mrs*** asked our rep, Shane B***, if we could move the safe - the answer to that question was yes. The safe was located in the basement of her old home, but it was a walk-out basement so getting it out of the house and around to the truck was not a concern when Shane reviewed the situation. There is no record however of Mrs*** asking Shane if we could take the safe to the basement at her new residenceShane had never seen her new home, had never seen the steps to her new home, and would not have been in a position to give her a firm answer either way on if the safe could be taken to the basement.On the day of the move once the crew was at destination, Mrs*** asked the crew to put the safe in the basement, and they honored the request in the interest of customer satisfaction. As they moved the safe it fell and hit one of our movers, breaking his arm.The attached files contain a copy of both the pre-move inventory report and pre-move estimate, which were compiled by our rep Shane B***, and later signed off by Mrs*** when she formally requested us to perform the move. As noted on the first page of the signed estimate, Mrs*** selected basic coverage of $per pound per article while her belongings were in transit. In light of her claim that we damaged the safe during the course of the move, we will process the safe claim per the valuation coverage that Mrs*** selected ($per pound per article). We will estimate the safe weight to be lbs, which when multiplied by $results in a claim settlement of $300.00. This check will be processed and mailed to Mrs*** this week, and will constitute full and final settlement on her claim
