APHW’s has reviewed the complaint
and corresponding claim. We found that prior
to receiving this complaint; we contacted the homeowners on March 3, 2015, to
inform that the maximum amount under the home warranty agreement was approved
for the boiler replacement

I have reviewed the offer made by the business in reference to complaint ID ***, and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of why I am rejecting this offer appear below:
I have seen similar complaints, a couple of which were furnace-related like mine, against America's Preferred Home Warranty on the Revdex.com website, and the response is very clearly a canned answerIt is always disappointing when a business is unwilling to work with its customers, but instead hides behind fine print and canned answersI don't feel my request for payment was unrealistic. It is especially disheartening that they claim on their website to operate under Godly principlesOn the APHW "Why Us" page, they state the following, "We work everyday with the thought of always doing the right thing when protecting our homeowner’s best interests, and to operate our daily business under Godly principlesWe follow “The Golden Rule”, to do unto others as we would have done unto ourselves." (emphasis added)I am a Christian, so when I see a company claiming to adhere to Christian values and then come up with loopholes and weaseling out of what they were contracted to do, it betrays trust in more ways than oneIt seems that if they're following any "golden rule," it's more like the "he who has the gold makes the rules." One could also argue that APHW does follow one Biblical passage: render unto CaesarThey happily take in the money, but don't count on them when you need help

[You must provide details of why you are not satisfied with this resolutionPlease type details here:]I have seen your terms and conditions, and reject the fact that you can sell a home warranty to any homeowner that purchases a newer homeYour warranty is worthless because of the terms and conditionsYou were simply handed a check for a warranty you knew you would not have to honorThere should be some stipulations that shows you have made the effort to review the policy with the homeowner PRIOR to entering into the warranty agreement

America’s Preferred Home Warranty, Inc (APHW) was already
in the process of reviewing a claim dispute filed by the homeowner regarding
his claim
APHW’s Claim Dispute Board has reviewed the claim,
information provided and the recorded callsThe dispute
board’s decision is finalIt was based upon the terms and conditions of the
home warranty agreement. The warranty terms and conditions states the
warranty does not cover everything and it may not cover the entire cost of
repair or replacement of a covered item and that systems beyond life expectancy
will be the sole discretion of the company The homeowners system is beyond its life
expectancy
However, an
approval of $was made on 12/8/towards the systems replacement
The customer has
been notified of the approval and how to proceed
We thank the RevDex.com for its efforts on behalf of consumers, and we appreciate the
opportunity to respond to the complaint.

APHW’s has reviewed the complaint
and corresponding claim. Part of the
reimbursement process requires confirmation with contractors that a homeowner’s
invoice has been paid before reimbursing the homeowner. We tried on several occasions on multiple
dates to contact the contractor to complete this confirmation. Contact could not be made. We have made an exception and have spoken
with the homeowner to arrange the reimbursement without the confirmation.
We thank the Revdex.com
for its efforts on behalf of consumers, and we appreciate the opportunity to
respond to the complaint.
