Americable International Japan, Inc

This has been by far the worst company I have dealt with for internet and cable servicesOutages happen on a regular basis with no explaination (to multiple people and areas)Comments that reflect negatively on their Facebook page are blocked or deletedNo refunds are issued when an unscheduled outage occurs over a period of daysComplaints get you nothing from this companyIt is subpar service, misleading advertising, and too high of a price for "best effort" speeds that we never seeIf I had another choice of cable and internet provider I would pick that, hands downDoesn't matter which company it isThey are all better than Americable

This company offers less than sub-par service for exorbiant pricesThe internet speed is so slow, even the most basic websites take a long time to loadI once waited a full thirty seconds for the google homepage to loadUploading or downloading files can take hoursStreaming services are unpredictable and inconsistentInternet outages occur daily and at all hoursSometimes these outges last a few minutes, sometimes hoursThe past five days have seen outages every dayAmericable likes to blame its terrible connection speeds on everything from high user load to routers to solar flaresSolar flares are a new favorite, as outages are so widespread that blaming routers or cables is no longer believeable
Customer service is terribleThe twenty-four hour customer service line does not have an actual person on the other end of itThe phone rings incesantly, saying I am the first caller in queueThe only other option is to leave a message for a call backThey call back eventually, and send out a rep who replaces cables or equipmentThis never improves internet speeds
My cell bill is always going over my data because of how often I cannot use my home wifiAnd with no other options for internet in our housing, I have no choice but to pay for terrible speeds on data I can barely use and then pay extra for my phone data plan to make up the difference

The Internet service is slow and the company has connectivity issuesFor the over expensive price they charge, compared to San Diego almost double, I would expect great consistent serviceIf I had the option to choose a different company I would

The main issue I have with Americable is the connectivity and lack of communication about outages In several places on the Kanto Plain (Atsugi, Yokosuka, Ikego), outages will occur at all times of day from anywhere to minutes to days Any attempt at calling the help line will usually get the response of "our utiization is at XX% (usually under 50%)" This is not surprising as there are many customers who do not have access to the internet at a given time
Additionally, the cost for the delivered speed has never (NEVER) been what was promised IF you can get past the 10-minute wait for customer service, they will try to help troubleshoot and devices on your end (i.ethe modem they force you to use and any wifi router you may have), but they rarely get anything to work for a long period of time If I am paying for the Mbps (when available), but I usually only get 6-(regardless of a wired/wireless connection), there is something at the delivery end that must be addressed
If the issue is that the houses are old and concrete, then there would be an expectaion of losses in different rooms from the router/modem If there is a drop in service from a device in the same room, then wouldn't it make sense that it is something else in the service experience
By the way, whoever has been responding to the previous reviews with the same cut and past response from the president, don't bother responding with that to this review It will only further the belief that you don't care We know that the ONLY service you provide it to military members in Japan and that you were able to sign a year contract (which no one can seem to find to read) for something that you cannot adequately provide to peer services

This is the only internet provider on base. It is absolutely horrible. Speeds don't meet advertised speeds, and the service is grossly overpriced.
